When you restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media, all the partitions (including the disk image) are restored. That's the only way I know to get it back.
If you failed to burn those discs, you can obtain them from Toshiba.

Restoring will wipe the drive clean, of course. So you will need to back up all important files and reinstall added applications later.

Hi and welcome in our community.
This is user-to-user forum so here you will not get answer from Toshiba technicians.
I have a bit experience with Toshiba laptops. Meanwhile I use my third Toshiba machine. ;)
I have A300 to and must say it is very good piece of hardware. So here is answer to your question:
Recovery image cannot be downloaded. You got your notebook with preinstalled Vista and preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator tool. With this tool you could create recovery disc. This disc can be used in situation when recovery partition is damaged or you want to use new HDD.
So I presume you dont have it. Original recovery disc can be ordered on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
My advice: I use Win7 32bit on my A300 and it works perfectly and very stabile. Dont waste your time trying to obtain original recovery disc. Install own Win7 version. F you need some assistance I can help you with installation and configuration.

  • Restoring HDD Recovery Partition

OK guys, bear with me 'cause this may get a little hairy.
At the moment nothing is wrong with my laptop. What I am about to do is remove the factory HDD and replace it with a larger, faster drive. Well, naturall the new HDD will not have the HDD recovery partition. Nor am I very interested in using it. But the drive that I am going to take out will probably get reformatted and used for something else, thus I will more than likely remove the HDD recovery partition from it.
Now around my home we have a habit of handing things down. Once I upgrade to a newer laptop, I'm not leaving my high priced SSD drive in the one that I'm using now, I'll probably reinstall the factory drive, but the factory drive will have had that HDD recovery partition removed.
So finally we arrive at the question, how do I restore that HDD partition to the original drive when I reinstall it in the computer?
Thanks ahead of time for all your help guys!!!!!!!!!1

  • How to restore the HDD Recovery partition which has been deleted?

    Hello,
due to the mistake, I removed HDD Recovery partition.
Then, now I'm unable to restore eg. system state from before a fe hours.
Is there any way to "make" HDRecovery once again?
I really liked the funcionality of this tool, so it'd be nice but - can this be done? And how?

Andrej is right you cannot do this.
When you use Toshiba recovery media and install Vista this option will be available again.

  • Restoring the recovery partition

    Hello,
We have recently puchased some Lenovo ThinkCentre E72 SFF, please tell us how we can restore the recovery partition on the HDD if we change or deleted this hidden drive. We created the USB recovery disk. The PC has windows 8 pro 64 bit OEM
    Thank you

Sounds like you used the Microsoft Windows 8 tool to create a recover USB drive, and not the Lenovo process to create restore media. Lenovo has no bearing on this process, it is a Microsoft application.
Boot from the USB drive, and it will direct you how to restore. This HERE gives the steps needed.

  • Satellite L745D-S4214 Does not boot; HDD recovery partition not working

I tried to apply the recent windows 7 updates and my laptop no longer boots.  I tried to press F12 and select the HDD Recovery partition, but it does not boot regardless.  There is a message that it does not communicate to a specific device.  I believe the address called out was 0xc0000e9, but I am going by memory.  I never created a recovery CD because I thought I was covered by the HDD partitions.  This was purchased on 10/26/2012, so it should still be under warranty.
    PLEASE HELP!

Hi I'm going to assume that your recovery works like mine and that the recovery partition is still good and not corrupted.
Shut down your PC. Press F12 and select HDD recovery. Click enter. This should start the recovery from the hidden recovery partition.
PS I would advise you to make the recovery discs or USB recovery Try this first.
    Perform a power cycle
Even when your laptop is off and unplugged, residual power can still be held in some components. While this is normal, clearing it can help with boot problems. Perform these steps to complete what’s called a power cycle.
Ensure the laptop is turned off.
Unplug the laptop's AC power cable.
Remove the battery (if the model has a removable battery).
Unplug all wires or peripherals. This includes CDs, DVDs, USB sticks, mice, printers, and any other accessories.
Hold down the power button for thirty seconds.
    Reattach the battery.
Connect the AC adaptor to the power socket that was confirmed to be working in the first step.
Connect the other end of the AC adaptor to your computer.
    Try starting the computer.
If your laptop starts normally now, you're done!

  • Removing HDD Recovery Partition

    Hello
Does anyone know how to remove the HDD recovery Partition? I have not use for it as I have recovery Cds, plus partition images stored on a network drive. I would like the space to put a current image of my C: drive, rather than the original install.
When I go to delete the volume or partition I get major errors. With Paragon Disk Manager resizing my laptop completely bombs and I have to reinstall all partitions! When deleting from within Vista it says volume is in use and deletion may cause unexpected errors.

If you really want to remove it you could try Acronis Disk Director Suite. I never had problems with it. A very good program.
By the way, do I think you mean the Windows Recovery Environment and thats not a Toshiba feature.
The Toshiba recovery is only stored in a folder called HDDRecovery. Its not on a hidden partition.
However, maybe this good article is interesting for you:

  • HDD recovery partition to other storage media

    Hi,
    I own a Toshiba laptop model A665-S6094 with 640GB hdd model MK6465GSX.
Recently, my OS was not started anymore and I suspected that there are some problems with my hdd.
In fact I was true, there are several bad blocks, I was very disappointed with that, the 640GB hdd has only 1y and 5m, just enough to be out of warranty.
I tried to revitalize the hdd with hdd regenerator or even zero byte fills program but with no luck. The bad sectors are still there.
Before I managed to backup my data and also to save the hidden recovery partition, created an iso image from it. I also saved the MBR, just in case. But I do not have any recovery media.
Now I plan to flush the recovery partition content on a USB stick and to boot from USB device with a brand new hdd. Will this be working?
If I plan to boot with recovery DVD disks, how I should write the recovery partition on recovery media and how should I split the zzimages folder?
Are there any differences between the recovery partition and the recovery media disks? After all Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator is using the recovery partition to create recovery media, right?
    Greetings,
    Laurentiu

All you have to do is make sure the USB stick is formatted NTFS or FAT32 and "active". Then just copy the contents from the root of the recovery partition to the root of the USB stick. Double-check the file "DATA.INI" and make sure that "CDNUM=1" and "CDMAX=1", but if it came from the HDD recovery partition, they should already be correct. Go and and test boot.

  • Delete my win 7 but cannot restore from recovery partition any more

    Hello,
I tried to restore my computer to a fresh install, but instead using the restore to default I pressed the delete all
    so I don't even got a windows.
I install win7 from USB and I can see the TOSHIBARECOVERY partition in the disk management.
How can I restore my computer from this partition to factory mode?
    Is it possible?
I know I can buy the recovery disc from Toshiba, but I bought this computer in the US, and now IM in Israel for the next year, so there is no possible shipping to here. So I would like to download it.
    Thanks,
    Nati

    Hey.
    Same problem here.
I saw something on internet that you either have to have the OS which came with the laptop to do recovery or the DVD for restoring.
Which is huge amount of idiocity.
Why can't the program to make DVD be placed on D drive with the HDD recovery.
And charge that MUCH to get DVD with piece of software that you are supposed to have for free.
Ok shipping and DVD but why can't we select download the recovery ISO instead?
This is just milking MONEY out of customers who accidentaly made a mistake and cannot recover the factory settings.
I see no reason why the recovery DVD can't be put on internet.

    Hi Mike:
The second chapter of this saga.
I did order the recovery USB.
I did what it was asking and wiped out the HDD clean.
But the system is still unstable.
It took a very long time to configure itself. Several times I had to run the process again because it would either not boot or it would be just sitting there at the attached screen.
Sometimes it would go to Win8 boot window, but then suddenly come back to the same screen.
It seems that HDD is completly out. What is the warranty on the HDD? This laptop is just two years old.
And a side note: we had to send it for repairs twice already for monitor issues; the keyboard is not flat; there are some loose parts inside. I really expected better quality from such a reputable brand as TOSHIBA.

  • HDD Recovery PArtition not boot

I have a Toshiba L305-S5968. The partition of the C: format, but still there when checking the other partition of HDD Recovery. I tried to get that partition with F8, F12 etc. but the system does not rise. Right now the other partition is blank. When I give F8 I get to continue with ctrl + alt + del to restart. I could also make the recovery area and store it in another hard drive in case you lose the other. But not without co so I can create a boot disc. I hope you can help me. Thanks!

As outlined in great detail in your User's Guide (that was found on your hard drive in Adobe Acrobat Format or downloaded from the Product Support Link at the top of this page) starting on, or about page 60 you have to hold down the 0 (zero) key when booting the system to start the recovery process.  But, if you have formatted the C:drve you can no longer create Recovery Disks until the system has been restored to it's factory out of box state, and unfortunately that may not be possible after you formatted the C: drive.  Try holding down the 0 key to see, but if it doesn't you'll need to order a set of recovery disks from Toshiba.  Details can be found in the first post in this Recovery Forum.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • New HD: Restoring the recovery partition

    Hi,
I am trying to upgrade my 3000 N200 hard disk to a larger, faster disk (250G).
I find the recovery function (Lenovo care key at boot) to be very useful, as I am a computer tech and my system deserves to be reinstalled often.
My question is:  How do I migrate  the recovery partition to my new disk.
I used Symantec Ghost to clone from disk to disk (I put both in a desktop PC and copied straight from 1 to the other), but let ghost change the size of the data partitions (to my knowledge, ghost kept the exact same size for the hidden recovery partiton).
But when I attempt to boot into the recovery partition, i just hangs after the F-key choice (where I pressed F11) on a blank screen.
I saw one can make some disks and restore from disks, but I would like to use the recovery partition as it is self contained and always with the computer by definition.
Is there a way to get things to work on the new disk.  I do have access to the old disk as it is still working OK, if slow.
    Thanks for information
    Marc

About 2 days ago, my laptop (T115-1125) was crashed, I can't get into the windows because some error like this (Grub Loading error, blabla), knowing it, I realize that I just have one pieces Recovery Disc (I don't back it up until complete), and this is my fault, I tried that Recovery disc and load it, when I pressed F12 (multiboot menu) and make a choice on DVD Drive, then, I choose an option the middle one (*i guess), Recovery without changing any drive , and i just pressed next" until the recovery process asked me to insert the next disc, but i don't have it, And now my laptop runs windows vista x86 (Pirate Edition), Recovery Disc Creator was installed, and i just double click it, and the system tell me that i don't have any HDD Recovery Area!, so it couldn't be load, and i open "my computer", there is a Drive (FHDDRECOVERY <=== and that was a Recovery Partition, but why it doesn't hide like when i use windows 7 HP before? Can I just Back it up using another Burning tools (with multisession DVD) and use it to recovery my laptop ? If I don't, how can I get into Recovery Partition and Recovery my laptop without any of disc? I was pressed  "0" repeatedly but nothing happen, I'm stuck. Can anyone help me solve this problem? I hate this pirate vista so much!!

  • System restore from recovery partition

Yes, this question has probably been asked many times, but I cannot find a working answer in this forum. Apologies for that.
Something corrupted very important files on my Sattelite L870D in a way that it doesn't boot any more. I can power it up in the recovery partition on the disk (F12+power). It goes into all teh possible options and such.
But, is there a way I can recover back the factory image, or at least bootable Windows 8.1 image from this recovery partition? There are two disks ther - X: and H: - with some files. One of the recovery options asks to use a disk - either extenal DVD/USB or network. Is it the only option? There are no working images on those partitions on the HDD (other than C?
