Restore Image not working...

Part of an issue still unsolved
My situation:
I just got a new hard drive for the MacBook today, the 200 GB Toshiba. I'm replacing the 60 GB drive that came with the computer, so before I removed it, I was sure to make an image of the entire 60 GB drive onto my external drive so I could restore it to this new 200 GB drive later.
I got the drive in, it works, but the Disk Utility on the MacBook system disk won't allow me to copy the image onto this new hard drive. It lets me chose the source in the first box - when I hit the "image..." button I can select the backup .dmg file that I created, but the other box wants me to drag the destination disk into the box, but it isn't possible to drag anything anywhere!
I have all my data on the external drive, I know it's all there, I can see it all when I mount it temporarily and I can explore all the files, but I can't copy them onto the new drive.

Okay, so the other Mac (which is running 10.3.9 is letting me drag things in Disk Utility, which is good, but when I hit the Restore button, I get the confirmation (of course) and then I get something that says
Restore Failure
Could not open connection to helper tool.
<OK>
And now I can't even mount the DMG file, I get the message "Resource temporarily unavailable"
After a restart:
Now I don't even get the dialogue that says temporarily unavailable, now it says it's not a mountable image.

According to the article you posted:
Start the Intel-based Mac up in Target Disk mode and connect the Mac to another computer running Mac OS X (version 10.4 or later). Thus, I'm not surprised that it won't work with Panther.

Maybe a reset would help, to be followed by trying the recovery again.
To reset, hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then do the recovery.
If this doesn't solve it, I recommend visiting an Authorized Apple Service Center.

Not able to sign into Blackberry Protect. Backup and Restore function not working. Message is: "Your device isn't associated with a Blackberry ID." My Blackberry Messenger and Blackberry World is working fine so I am sure its not an ID issue on the phone. I can sign into Link, Blackberry.com and Protect. I see my device in Protect but cannot send messages or view it on a map. Times out with cannot reach device message. BB Protect on Device has a swirling circle beside the on/of switch. Cannot turn off.
I have deleted Link and re-installed.
I have reset phone to default(factory) and signed in.

I managed to figure this out myself. I had to delete the device from the Blackberry Protect website. protect.blackberry.com. I wiped my device again and signed in with my Blackberry ID. I dont know if the step of wiping was necessary as I did not try my backup with the current configuration on the device following the delete. Restore is in progress for me!

It sounds like there is definitely a system problem. The whole OS seems to be messed up.
Do you have an MS Windows 7 disk?
In such case you could start the Windows 7 Startup Repair process using the MS Win 7 disk.
Boot from Win 7 disk, after the temporal files has been load, you should get and window where you could choose between the OS installation and other options. The second option called Repair you Computer is the one which would be needed to get the system repaired.
Then wait for System Recovery Options to locate Windows 7 on the HDD.
Then choose the Windows 7 installation and then the next window should appear providing the option to repair the system Startup Repair
But in case this workaround would not help you, the system should be reinstalled once again using Toshiba Recovery disk

If you're not a developer then you really should not have upgraded.
I'm unsure how you can fix this as you have already done a back-up on iOS 7 and apple don't support firmware downgrades.

RH 8 Shed images not working

Hi all
Thanks for all the info - but I'm still stumped. I have tried generating my .chm
files to the default SSL folders, manually copying all the child chms to the SSL
folder for the master project, letting RH copy them, generating all chms to an
external folder... no matter what I do, every time I recompile the master
project it picks up random old stuff. I have checked and rechecked that my
merged TOC items are to the latest child chms...
Sometimes when I recomplie the master project, even the content in that reverts
back to a previous version, sometimes it doesn't...
I have looked at the Merged Files list in the hhp file, I have deleted this file
and started my merge from scratch, I have manually deleted some paths (some
paths are to directories on the server where any files for this project have
long since been deleted...) directly in this file, but again every time I
recompile the master project it picks up random old versions of the child chms (
and the huge list of old merged files are put back in the hhp file. Even when I
delete all chms from all locations in the folder I'm working in on my C drive,
delete all the merged TOC items from the master project, save it, and
recompile it, the list of old merged files reappears in the hhp file).
Any more thoughts gratefully received:-)
Also - I don't have a Baggage Files folder??
One more thing... If I delete ALL the files under Merged Files in the hhp file using HTML Help Workshop, it crashes

DB Restore does not work on MSSMS 2014 under WIndows8.1

When attempting to restore a DB which was backed up on a different machine (same names but SQL EXPRESS 2012) under MS 2014 running on WIndows 8.1 into a SQL Express DB, the following happens:
1. Open Restore task
2. Select Device to get 'Select backup devices"
3. Invoke "Add" and expect to see a browser. Instead, a backup file location is indicated and no browsing is permitted in the "Locate Backup File" Even when the path and file names are just typed in, the Restore will not work.

SQL Server does not allow you to restore or attach a database from a higher version of SQL Server to a lower version of SQL Server in your case from SQL 2014 to SQlL 2012, however you can generate script in SQL 2014 and execute it on SQL 2012.

Copy and Paste of Images NOT working.

When I right click on an image and choose 'copy image' and then try to paste it into my editing software, all i get is a string of text that is the location of the image as if I had chosen 'copy image location' instead. what gives?

I too was unable to copy & paste ''IMAGES'' suddenly. This function continued to work correctly in my Internet Explorer and Chrome browsers while not working in Firefox. (I WAS able to copy & paste ''''TEXT'''' however in all 3 browsers.)
As described by another poster, I would click on "Copy image" as I always did, but instead of the image appearing when I clicked paste, the ''URL'' of the image appeared instead.
My computer developed this problem suddenly yesterday after downloading and installing the newest version of Firefox, which is 12. I tried some of the suggested solutions here to no avail, but I strongly suspected the problem was with Firefox 12. To test this, I re-installed Firefox 11 and immediately my copy & paste function started to work correctly once again and I am now able to copy & paste images once again.
I will not install Firefox 12 again until Firefox corrects this problem. I need this function and do not want to have to deal with a convoluted method of saving a graphic with unnecessary extra steps, thank you. Every single time I upgrade Firefox, something is incompatible with the new version and no longer works. This is always a nuisance, especially when it is my Norton toolbar.
This time it was my copy & paste function (again, for images only.) Anyone else with this problem should re-install Firefox 11 to see if their copy & pasting of images function is suddenly restored, as mine was. Good luck! :)

XP windows restore does not work yet all is set correctly

XP windows restore function does not work. All the restore points exist with descriptions of the changes that prompted them. It will let me select them (restore points) and restore process will strart but after rebooting it will ultimatly let me know that it could not restore.
Does the Lenovo Restore and Rescue utility disable this function of XP ? ?

Well I have a 6460-8WU that came with Vista and I got the downgrade CD set and tried to restore to XP. The first time it said it failed to restore my system, but it seem to have XP and all the applications that I expected to see. Later I had a problem with the Welcome Windows screen being unavailable... used only the Classic Windows Logon, I called Microsoft and they suggested using their system restore.... which didn't work at all... I tried 5 or 6 different backup files from different days and none of them worked. At that point I decided to use the Lenovo downgrade CDs and format the hard drive restoring everything from scratch. It took me a few tries but eventually I did get it to say that it had successfully restored my system. The items I learned from like 4 failed attempts to restore it are this:
1. Don't try to restore it while in the advanced dock.
2. When the restore process says to remove Disk # x and press OK, remove Disk # x-1 (the currently inserted Disk, and insert Disk # x, and then do not press OK until you wait 20 or 30 seconds or until the little icon of a CD that flashes when Windows reads a newly inserted disk has finished. When I tried clicking OK either before I had actually inserted the next CD or too soon after I had inserted the next CD the process went downhill from there and failed to restore properly.
3. When it seemingly has read all the CD's and says it will now start the restoration process, but you are asked to press Next... well firstly there *is* no Next button to press and the other buttons other than Cancel are greyed out. The solution there is to wait, and wait, and wait... so long that you may think the process has failed and the computer is hung... but it is not. Eventually it will continue from that point.
Aside from that, I notice that there is a new version of the Recovery Application on the Support site, but
if you install the latest Rescue and Recovery 4.20.0511.00 in the readme there are 31 "considerations" listed, which are basically conditions under which it does not work properly or as expected, so I won't be trusting it to recover my system. I will make a Paragon Drive Manager image after I get the updates all installed and use that to restore from.

Netboot Multi Cast Image not working

After reading through tons of documentation and forums I finally found that you can create (supposedly) a multi cast image in Disk Utility, then use System Image Utility to create a NetBoot image with it and have a multi cast image to deploy though NetBoot. However, it's not working.
I read if I mounted the image.dmg, then opened DU, Selected the image in DU's side bar, clicked "Image" from the menu bar, then "Scan image for restore..." it would automatically turn it into a multi cast image file. So I did that.
After the image went through the DU's image scanning process, I used System Image Utility to crate a "NetRestore Image". That process went though successfully, as well. I can see what appears to be the correct files under /Library/NetBoot/NetBootSP0. However, when I NetBoot the computers I want to re-image I see explication points over the NetInstall file and the NetInstall files don't look like the normal NetInstall icons.
I used the original image before to create a NetBoot image, but didn't do the "Scan image for restore..." and it was successful. But now that I've Scanned the image it won't work.
Does anyone know how to make it work?
Did I not do the multi cast process correctly?
Any tips or walkthroughs you could give would be really appreciated.

Wow...deploystudio is amazing. Always works flawlessly for me and is super customizable. When was the last time you tried it? I think it is a lot easier and def. a lot less frustrating than netrestore which has never worked properly in the past for me. And they also have a dedicated forum for any issues you might have.

Google Images not working in Safari on Iphone

Since a while back the "images"-tab in google does'nt work on the iPhone in any of the browsers I've tried. I've searched the net to find others with the same problem but with little luck. Here's a description of the problem.
For example I search for "dog" in google in the Safari browser, this works just fine.
Then I press the "images"-tab and get a thumbnail view with pictures of dogs, of course.
But this is where it all goes wrong, when touching one of the images I get an enlarged view of an image next to it. The "back to the results" and "full image" buttons dim out (without being touchable) and swiping does not work. I don't know what has caused this to stop working properly, I know its not the new iOS version though.

First, is there anyone else out there with this problem?
Second, this is what I've tried:
- Other iPhone web browser applications, for example "Mercury", "Opera Mini", "Skyfire" and none of them works except "Dolphin" (good work).
- Resetting any of the settings in the phone, clearing cache and such have no effect.
- Resetting the iPhone totally, factory settings. No effect.
- Using someone elses iPhone. I've tried on an iPhone 4 and iPhone 3S, same problems (with iOS 5.01).
- Trying out all of the settings in google, no change.
- Setting the google view to "classic" instead of "mobile" works of course, but that makes the site look just like on a PC or Mac and is not what I'm after.
Third, this problem seems to just affect Swedish users from what I can tell. There would be thousands of posts about this if everyone in the world was affected by it, but so far I've seen no posts on this matter. But after searching a while I found a swedish forum site on the subject. Link (in swedish). Also, when visiting google from Sweden some form of script automatically changes the url from .com to .se. I don't know if this has something to do with it?
Anyone know what causes this problem and how It might be resolved?

First; this must be the most thorough error discription I have ever seen. Impressive.
Second; yep for a couple of weeks now I've been having exactly the same problems as you describe. One other thing that I've noticed, is that for me, the 'word suggestion drop down list' or whatever it's name is, no longer works. More specificly:
I open Safari in my iPhone, surf to Google image search and type for example "dog" in the search field. Below the field, I now get a list of suggested words or phrases that I think is based on the most popular searches. For me, the first suggestion in this list is "dogo argentino" (a specific and popular breed of dogs). When I tap on the words "dogo argentino", the search field normally would switch input from "dog" to "dogo argentino" AND starts the image search automatically. However, since the problem showed up, when I tap on "dogo argentino" the input field is not affected (still reads "dog") and I would have to type "dogo argentino" manually and hit "search".
I use a Swedish iPhone 4S (5.0.1 (9A406)) in the Telenor network. I also have tested the same possible solutions that you describe in your post, but with no luck.

Why is code to get center of image not working?

Hey there. I have am trying to establish the center of the imags that load so that I can put them in the center of the stage. I am doing this as each image is a different size.
Here is the code i have gotten to work before but its not working now and I have been searching to find what I have done wrong with no luck. : (
Would you look it over and maybe you will see what I am doing wrong?

The result when I publish is the picture comes on stage but the top left corner goes to 640 instead of the center of the image going to 640.
I tried several variations of this all with the same result:
imageLoader.x = -1*imageLoader.width/2;
I tried using setRegistrationPoint with the following tutorial: http://flashscript.ca/set-registration-as3.php
and I tried doing all of the above by inserting the loader into a sprite and then applying the code to the sprite and then adding that sprite to another sprite and putting that at 640 and not inserting it in another sprite and trying to straight up put the existing sprite at 640 (hopefully that all makes sense). And I have tried to put it to width/3 and nothing different happens.
If you have any other ideas or can see what I am doing wrong I would really be gratefull for some tips! : )

oh, and I am getting no errors on this.

the image's width and height are not available until loading is complete. ie, use a complete listener/listener function.

Anychart save as pdf/image not working

A while ago I posed this question when the right click, save as stopped working on my APEX charts

The problem resolved when anychart.com was back up, but the problem is occurring again and I wonder if they've moved their php files. Not even in Hilary's sample app is working. We think this happened within the last month.
After choosing save as image and a location, the "saving" just keeps spinning.
Most anychart google results at the moment seem to revert to the same landing page, and webcached copies refer to locations that no longer exist.
I wonder with post anychart7 cleanup, have they moved the supporting php files? For instance, this location no longer exists

A workaround is to use a local copy of the php file with custom XML

So, if i understand properly, making this change

will avoid atleast PDF issue? And as i dont have privileges to install or deinstall anything on /i/ folder, still this will work and URL path will remain same for each installation?
Adding another question, as you said "it sends base64 information when converting to PDF", does it mean i will not be able to convert to PDF, if i am using intranet and PC's not accessible to internet?
