I accidentally hit command X instead of command Z and wiped out all my ins and outs. How do I restore them? Restore project doesn't work.

Have you tried creating a playlist for your album, then
select the playlist in iTunes.
right-click the playlist name -> select +copy to play order+. -> sync. -

iPad was purchased by a School and was stolen, retrieved but activated by unknown user. Will not restore with out user ID. Need help.
Take it to an Apple Store with your original proof of purchase and they should be able to help you.

he iPod isn't restored, gives out an error 1604, I do all as is written on a site, but helps nothing.

PC: i-tunes won't launch, update and restore greyed out - updater freezes
Hi - Please excuse the system info below - that refers to my laptop but our sons shuffle ismarried to our PC.
I found my son's shuffle sitting on the hall dresser today and he informed me that it has not been working for some time. He's 8 years old but he's only had the shuffle since Christmas - I'm inclined to think he really hasn't been able to use it much.
First signs of a problem were flashing green and orange lights - no songs I guess. Battery shows steady green.
Downloaded and installed latest i-tunes update and i-pod updater. When the i-pod is connected to our PC (running XP) the front status light and the back battery lights both blink orange. Unfortunately, we do not have any 2.0 usb connections on the Dell but we've been able to successfully connect our other son's shuffle to the back port.
When the shuffle is connected i-tunes will not launch. If I launch i-tunes and then connect the shuffle, i-tunes does not recognize the i-pod.
With the updater lauched and then connecting the i-pod the updater freezes at 'initializing' and both update and restore buttons are greyed out.
I have reset the i-pod many times and browsed the support discussions and articles - it seems I may need to remove the updater but I have not found instructions for the process appropriate to a PC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - even if its just to say that we should bring it in for service. UGH - but where is the darned receipt?Hey mmlise - glad to hear I'm not alone on this...
By the way - I uninstalled and reinstalled both i-tunes and i-pod updater as per Apple instructions for PC. At least this time the updater informed me as to what it updates but it is not even initializing now - it just keeps telling me to "plug in an i-pod to update it".
i-tunes still will not launch until I remove the shuffle from the usb.
I know that the usb is working (tried several other ports anyway) since windows pops up with a balloon to say that the device could perform faster on a 2.0 usb...
I've been out of the loop for awhile now on the boards - is this some sort of update bug?

Call apple support and request the DVD for your model. (The retail SL DVD won't help in your case as it's too old). -
"Restore" greyed out in Time Machine
It finds items on my external drive, but Restore is greyed and non selectable.
Confused ???It means that during the time of the TM backup, this drive was attached to your Mac (i.e. that status of your mac at the time). That fact that it's greyed out simply means there is no back up of it. There are many different reasons it wasn't backed up.
1. You did not include it in TM Preferences->Options.
2. It is not HFS+ formatted.
3. It is a network drive. -
Upgrade and restore wiped out my library!!!!
Recently my iPod has been acting a little weird (freezing and not synching properly) so I thought I would restore it to its original settings. I had just upgraded to the latest and greatest iTunes and everything was working just fine. I hooked up my iPod, pressed restore and went to bed. In the morning it said OK to disconnect, so I did. I went outside and plugged it into the car and started looking for the album I wanted to listen to. Nothing was there, only one TV show. I went back inside and looked at iTunes to see if there was an error screen I missed. There was. It said, "100 errors" I looked at each one and it was the same, "could not locate song." I opened explorer and tried to jump on my external music drive, but it would not open. I get an error that says, "Drive not formatted, would you like to format now?" I had over 75 gigs of music on that drive, where did it all go????? It was there before I upgraded iTunes and restored my iPod. What the deuce!?!?!?
I'd be freaking out!
Then I would shut down my PC and my external HD, and start them back up.
Does Windows still think that exHD needs formatting when you start it back up? -
Mail 4.1 backup won't restore; restore grayed out
Hello. Trying to restore my sent mail from a specific IMAP account. I can see the backed-up email within time machine, can select that sent mail box, can even highlight all the messages to be restored, but the "restore" button remains grayed out.
I only want to restore that one mailbox of sent mail.All I can tell you is, it works for me, on a still-current IMAP mailbox (my mac.com account). I don't have a non-Mobile Me IMAP account, so I don't know if it might work differently.
I do note there's often a problem if I select TM with a different selection in Mail; but if I start with the Sent mailbox (not the merged one, but the one from the specific mac.com account), then select TM, I can navigate and restore the whole mailbox or selected messages, just as you'd expect.
I can only surmise that it might be related to the account no longer being active.
A possible workaround:
Open a Finder window set to +*<your home folder>/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/+*
Inside that folder should be a sub folder named something like +*Sent Messages (<account>).mbox+*
Inside it should be a folder named Messages containing the actual messages, named with numbers and the suffix .emlx
If you double-click on individual messages, you can see the contents.
Once you're sure you're in the right place, +Enter Time Machine+ and navigate to the backup in question. You can double-click the individual items there, to see them via Quick Look.
Then you should be able to restore either selected items, or the entire folder, but I'd suggest clicking the "gear" icon and selecting the +*Restore to ...+* option and putting them on, say, your desktop, rather than back into the original folder. Then you can move them where you want them via Mail. -
Once ipad 1 restored to out of box state how do you update ioS
Got new iPad Air and wanted to give original iPad to my mom, so restored the iPad to its out of box state. However, now when she goes to set up the iPad as hers and update the software, it says the software is up-to-date (at ioS 5). How does she update?
Because Apps get updated all the time. If you had already downloaded a prior version of the App then that's what you were using and not the updated version.
Your mom should still be able to get a version of the App for the older iOS version though.

You may need to download the newest version to a compatible device or a computer running itunes so it gets registered to the Apple ID she is using now and can be downloaded then form the Purchased tab in the App Store App. -
i am trying to restore a DB but keep getting errors...i was able to restore the controlfile...and here is the list backup cmd below....

Restoring problem, Out of Free space
OK, here is my problem.
I am trying to restore from a backup and I get the following message:
iTunes could not restore the iPhone "iPhone" because the backup could not be saved on the computer.
Additionally my computer will say Low Disk Space:
You are running on very low disk space on C:......
The problem is when this first appeared I removed about 5GB worth of programs on my C drive and when I tried to restore the same problem again.
I think that maybe when you try to restore it starts to put the information on your computer before transferring to IPhone. If that is correct, how can I delete those restores that didn't go through? (I.e. I had over 5GB of space at the start of the restore process and now I have zero space.) I think part of the problem is I have tried to restore like 6 times thus, taking up more and more space.
Thanks in advance for the help, I am so frustrated right now. I tried looking up the answer myself online but had no luck.

Right Click Start> Click Explore> Find your iTunes folder, this should contain a folder labeled previous iPhone Back-ups, erase what you need to. But be careful if you erase the wrong one you could lose alot of your most recent data i.e. contacts apps and music.

I was enlarging pictures on Facebook to full screen. When i went to move on. All my tool bars and my task bar have disappeared. I have tried all the suggestions on this site to no avail. I don't know how to do a system restore without my task bar, and don't want to lose my book marks. Please help, i can't grt to my important favorite sites.
Can you launch a new window (Ctrl+n for a normal window, Ctrl+Shift+p for a private window) that has the usual complement of toolbars? If a new window also is missing bars, try using the View menu > Toolbars list to restore them. If the classic menu bar is not displayed, usually tapping the Alt key or the F10 key will show it temporarily.

I have just restored data from a previous backup on my iphone.
So what? Restore deleted my previous messages and images on the phone.

I hate youVery strange. Every time I have restored from a backup I have received a warning that all content on my phone would be replaced. I guess you didn't bother to read it.
You could, of course, restore again and use the most recent backup.

I have been unable to install my pc suite software either by disc or dowloading from the internet, the istallation goes ok at first then freezes with the time bar stuck at 60% and 20%, my operating system is vista. Can anyone help with some suggestio

I synced and when I looked at my folders, the wrong pictures were in them. I checked in iPhoto, and the pictures were in the correct folders there. they get messed up when I sync on both my Ipad 2 and my Iphone 5.
