Restore in Transport / Change system

Hello , experts
I meet a trouble and hope get help from you.
Acctually I did some change in IMG setting in a SAP system.
The change I did hang under a transport request number.
Now I hope to remove all the change and restore the system to original status, can I do it by some manual on the transport request I created?
Is it possible?
Hoping for your help, thanks a lot

zhenglin,
is the request released or still open ? in that case unlock the request and delete the object and set the IMG setting to what it was earlier and save it against a different request number.

  • Change Request Management without Transport Managment System

    Hello,
we would like to use the Change Request Management but without using the Transport Managment System (TMS). Means, we do not want that transport request are created automatically, we do not want that it is possible to log on to the satellite systems via the Solution Manager and we do not want to integrate the transport track into the Solution Manager.
What effort do we have to estimate for such a change? Does anybody already use a process like this? We would be grateful for any idea or solution.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Jenny

    Hi Jenny,
you can do this with the following activities in your custom Business Transaction (BT):
    - remove un-useful actions from your action list (TA: CRMC_ACTION_CONF)
    - remove the action from the actions depending on user status (TA: starting from SPRO)
    - unlock the switches from your SMI Project CTS Switches (TA: SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN)
The effort, for copying a standard BT and remove the actions and testing it, is about 5 days, if you already know how to customize a ChaRM BT... last but not least if one of the standard flows is what you really need.
Please let me know if you need more details, otherwise please reward the forum points

In a two system landscape is it necessary to make development the domain controller always?
No such compulsion as such exist(correct me if wrong),however why you want to make production your domain controller?
    This is not recommended.

  • After transporting changes are not happening

    Hi All,
As per the requirement we need a change in the pricing procedure ZJEXPS
(Export Sales Switch). We made the changes in transaction code V/08.
But after transporting the request to quality server, changes are not reflecting there.
I had checked the request number all the tasks are there and transport was completed with warning.
our consultant created another request and then also after transporting changes are not reflecting.
How it is happening particular to this request?
How to trace this? Kindly suggest me.
(Ours is two system landscape with master client 009 and quality client 007.I am trying to transport to 007)
    Regards,
    Nagendra.

    Hi
Check the import logs. If you are getting warnings that original objects cannot be replaced. You need to import the change request in unconditional mode. During performing imports select option, overwrite originals.
Some times the requests contain the objects, which are original to the target system, e.g SAP standard objects.
Check if this could help you.
    Regards

  • Transport Management System

In the TMS   e.g. we have three systems   APP >  QTS> PRD
Is all of them have a seprate database installation or same.
Will the client need to same to transport changes to other system.

Right, Prince covered the second issue both issues very nice. One of your systems should be selected as the transport domain.
Here you will find enough information:

  • Transport change request

    Hello Team,
I have a transport change request that needs to be imported to production. It has the changes to userexit MV45AFZZ. Can i import it to production system with users on the system or it has to be done when there are no users on the system. Please advice.
    Tthanks.
    Regards,
    Baabi

Sales documents in a production system get created in various ways - through online users, through interfaces with other systems like EDI, Web or any other system or through any background process.
When source code in common includes like MV45AFZZ etc changes it needs recompiling of the whole main program SAPMV45A again. If changes happen while documents are getting created it may cause instability or even run time termination.
Better to choose a silent time when users or other processes are not creating any sales document (inquiries, quotations, orders, contracts, credit/debit memos etc)

  • CTS - Don't Always Want Transportable Change Lists

Is there a way to turn off automatic creation of the Transportable Change Lists?  At times, especially during the trial and error of development in the IB-Repository, I do not like having a bunch of transportable change lists created.  I end up deleting them manually since I always do initial transports of the entire SWCV after I am done.
In the past I have turned off the change lists by SWCV when using CMS for transports (config exists in Administration section of Integration Builder).  Is there something like this for CTS?

This change did not resolve my issue (and we bounced the system to make sure it took effect).
If anyone knows of anything else, please chime in.
When I make a change in IB-Repository, then go to the "Change Lists" tab and activate the change, a "Transportable" change list automatically generates.  I would like that turned off and I will only make transports when I am ready.
    Thanks

  • What is Security & Transport Management system?

    Hi,,,,
Can anyone help me out on
What is Security & Transport Management system?
    Thanks,
    Swamy
Edited by: Alvaro Tejada Galindo on Apr 4, 2008 6:02 PM

    Hi Swamy,
Transport Management System is the process of reflecting the changes done in the Development server into Production Server.
When we start the development work, we assign the work to a Transport Request Number.
Once the development is completed the object is moved to Quality Server for Business Functionality Testing.
If the object meets the all the test conditions then finally it is moved to Production Server for the end user.
Security can be explained more effectively by any Basis person.
    cheers!!!

  • Central transport management system

    Hi All,
How do i configure central transport management system within Solution Manager to find out if transports within different environments can be controlled from single system.
    Regards
    Suresh

    Hi:
You first need to have every SAP system already configured into Solution Manager in a Solution Landscape whereas, to configure the central TMS to handle all the T.O you need to configure the Change Management feature in Solution Manager.
Additional information and also the installation and configuration guides are located under http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager
    Hope this helps!

  • DB Restoration in different Operating system

    Dear Experts,
In SAP supporting Database, which DB will allow the database backup that can be restored in different Operating System Platform.
Say for example: I will take a database backup on windows system and i want to restore the same in different OS other than windows.
    BR,
    Jai

    Generally: Not supported.
Each operating system stores the data in different block sizes plus it may have different endianesses.
For Oracle there are various options:
    - OOO (see Note 1508271 - Oracle to Oracle Online Migration - Triple-O)
    - transportable tablepsaces (Note 1367451 - Oracle 10g: Transportable Database)
    - standard R3load procedure (hetergoeneous sytem copy)
For all those migrations you need to have a certified migration consultant on-site (see http//service.sap.com/osdbmigration).

  • Transporting change request

    hi SD experts,
I really appreciate if anyone tell me abt Transporting change request concept
and do  sd consultant hve any role in this scenario.
    Thanx in advance
    regards
    vaseem

Transport request is not generated for Master Data. For eg: Customer Master, Material Master, price master, etc.
    Benefit of Transport Request:
SAP Landscape normally has 3- Tier system:
<b>Development Server</b> - Where customization takes place. TRansport request is generated at this level & then first transported to Quality server for testing whether it meets the requirement or not. Once the requirement is met in Quality server then Request is transported from Development Server to Production Server (Actual / Live System)
    <b>Quality Server</b> - Mainly useful for testing.
<b>Production Server</b> Actual / Live server, where the real transactions are created & posted.

  • Transport Management System Configuration

    Hi,
I have a question here, on Transport Management System.
We have new 64 bit boxes. I first migrated our dev SCM 4.0 box from 32 bit to 64 bit, it asked for being a Domain Controller. Configured it as a Domain Controller, and continued with the upgrade and completed the upgrade.
Now, I am going to the second box (QAS). I have performed the migration from 32 bit to 64 bit. Now, when I login to this box, in my understanding, TMS should offer to make this system part of the already existing domain right? It doesn't happen that way. It is forming itself again as a domain controller. After some changes and update configurations on both the boxes, the QAS box now says, "Waiting to be added into the domain by the domain controller" something similar to this. But, when I go and login to the domain controller (DEV), it doesn't show anything there.
In the QAS system when I go to the System Overview, I see both the systems but, they both show under the two different transport groups. I am totally confused here. Am I doing something wrong here? The only problem I see here is, the domain controller (DEV) is on SCM 5.0 as it is already upgraded from SCM 4.0 but the QAS is still in SCM 4.0 and waiting to be upgraded. Do you think this could be a potential problem? If so, what is the solution to continue with the upgrade because, I am sure the upgrade won't work without the Transport Management System configured properly.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

    Hi Gus,
Thank you for the prompt response. Thank you.
There are couple of things to be considered before following your suggestion.
    1. Our QAS box is in Kernel 6.40 (32 bit) and my DEV (upgraded) is in Kernel 7.00 (64 bit). In this kind of heterogeneous environment, I am sure the R3trans versions should be different. Is it possible to configure the transport management using the shared transport directory (Transport Group)?
    2. Now, when I login to the QAS box, as I said in my previous message, I see two entries. One it should the APD (Domain Controller) with a different transport group. And I see the APQ in a different transport group. The problem here is, I cannot edit or delete any of the entries in the APQ - STMS because, it keeps saying all changes could be made only in the domain controller. A point to be noted here is, even though it shows two different transport group, it points to the same transport domain 'DOMAIN_APD'. Another thing to be noted here is when I look at the domain controller (APD), I don't see an entry for APQ or any awaiting approval requests.
Kindly suggest what needs to be done here.
    Thank you.
