want ask about restore ipad mini with itunes .when im restornig my ipad mini the restornig stop long time in preparing iPad for restore  and it still has not progressed . pls help me

Hello Ghaith2014,
Thank you for your question! It sounds like you are trying to restore your iPad Mini but it is not completing successfully. I would start by restarting both the computer, and the iPhone:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
If that does not resolve the issue, you may need to try backing up your iPad, to iTunes first:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
Then use this article to put the iPad in recovery mode, and attempt the restore again:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Restoring ipad mini - stops half way through without error.

    I have been searching around for answeres, but I havent found anything similar.
    My ipad mini arrived from apple just a few days ago. I wasn´t able to connect to itunes, so I decided to try to restore it, in hope of making it easier to connect to itunes. I followed the procedure i found here and everything worked fine until I started to restore it i itunes. Itunes detected my ipad and told me I had to restore it. I started to restore and the software was successfully downloaded as the first step in itunes. After downloading it started to install the software to the ipad. After installing about 60% of it, it wont go further. It stops and stays frozen without continuing. There are no ERROR messages or anyting suggesting something is wrong. The same happens when I try the same procedure again.
    I have tried to delete the software file in the "itunes folder" and download a new verson, still it doesn´t work. All software is updated and the macbook has been restarted.
    I have been in contact with apple, but the people I have spoken to haven´t experienced this problem before. I hope you can help me.

    You are going to have to keep trying. Thats all there is. If not you are going to have to drive to apple and get a new one. Yours should have a warrenty.

  • Cannot restore ipad mini.  Not enough room

    I had an ipad mini model A1432 (16gb) that had a cracked screen.  I bought a second ipad mini (open box but seemed unused), same A1432 model and tried to do a restore so that it could be used while I fixed the first unit.  Both have OS 7.04.  Itunes is telling me it cannot do the restore becuase there is not enough memory on the new ipad.  The old ipad backup was under 14.5GB so what gives?  It does not tell me there is a problem with the new ipad and I have confirmed the models on the back of the ipads.
    I tried doing a fresh install of the OS (restore iPad) in the hopes that if there was any legacy files from the previous owner who must have gotten it for christmas, would be wiped out.

    Further to my question.
    I am able to do a restore.  Takes 15 or more minutes and reboots but then I get the same response when I try to restore what should be a 14.5GB backup.  Everything appears to restore properly so I should expect that I would easily have enough room to do the "Restore from this backup:"
    Do I have to initialise something or do some steps first?  it seems to want me to setup my wifi and other details but I should be able to do the backup as that is what it is for.
    The exact wording of the error:
    "iTunes could not restore the ipad "Nichole's iPad" becasue not enough free space is available on the iPad."
    I only have the option of saying "OK"

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
    How to Remove “Other” Data from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
    http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-remove-other-data-from-iphone/
    With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.
    Hello there, Didger46.
    The following Knowledge Base article offers up information on the exact error message you are seeing:
    Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694#9
    Particularly:
    Configure your security software
    Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, or 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.
    Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.
    Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
    Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.
