  • STILL CAN'T RESTORE LAST VIEW SETTINGS

Hi. I have read all these forums and tried all suggestions. I have repeatedly checked the 'restore last view settings' button under settings.
Still no good. I keep going to the 1st page of a 250 page book - and I have many more books, one of them over 1,000 pages, to read.
Help please ? preferably from tech support guys here ?
    Thank you

    Hi Thomas 31,
Thank you for posting on the forums. What is the version of Acrobat you are working with?
What is the Operating System you are working with?
Have you tried View>Page navigation>previous view.

  • Restore last view setting not working in version XI

When reopening documents the new version XI, Adobe keeps opening my documents on page one. Though I have gone to preferences\documents and checked the box for restoring last view setting when reopening documents. Is this a bug that needs fixing? I already uninstalled and re-downloaded the program. It still will not work correctly.

it still does not work for me. It is set to 1 minute. I have tried it in a number of pdf's. I left it longer than 1 minute and it still does not work. It does not work for any of my pdf's but it DID work in previous versions. I guess I will just go back to version 9! They should be able to fix this though. I also re-downloaded, deleted the program, and loaded it again.... still doesn't work!!!

  • Preview doesn't open updated pdf on last viewed page

    Hello.
I use a program called LaTex to create pdf's which I view in the Preview app. Aesthetically I prefer Preview and don't want to change pdf viewers.
However, after changing to Yosemite recently, whenever I make a change in my file and then recompile it using LaTex, the resulting pdf reopens in Preview at the beginning of the file, which is most inconvenient if I'm doing lots of edits and want to look at how they appear in the resulting pdf. This is despite having selected the preference to open documents in Preview on the last viewed page (which does work ok for files that haven't been changed externally to Preview). Note also that before migrating to Yosemite, I didn't have this issue.
Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions on how to recover the "open on last page" functionality for updated pdf's in Preview?
    Thanks in advance.

Please provide some details; operating system, Reader version, local or online files, ...

  • "Restore last view settings when reopening documents" option not working with all documents

Said option (found under Edit/Preferences, category Documents), which works like an automatic bookmark in that it takes you back to the same place you were at when you last closed a document, is very useful, but apparently doesn't work with *all* documents.
    - Does anyone know what determines whether a given document works with this option or not?
    - Is this by design or a bug? A matter of PDF format version?
    - Is there a way to work around the problem?
I've compared two documents, only one of which works with the option, to determine what the relevant difference may be, and found two suspects (under File/Properties): the PDF version (1.5 in the document that works, 1.4 in the one that doesn't), and 'Fast Web View' ('yes' in the document that works, 'no' in the one that doesn't).
    Thanks,
    Michael

This seems to be a problem with some PDF files.
Suggested workaround: If the PDF you have allows "Save As", then try save-as to a new file. The "Restore last view settings when reopening documents" option should then work as expected (in the new file).

  • How to make Safari stop opening up with the last viewed page?

If I quit safari with "google.com", and I open it up again, "google.com" shows up.
how do i change the settings so that every time I open up safari, the homepage shows, not the last viewed page?

Close the Safari window before you quit Safari.
Or hold the shift key down when you launch Safari.
    Best.

  • Restore Last View Settings and Max Window

When I check "Restore last view settings when reopening documents", and if the window was maximized before it was last closed, the window will start at a place slightly below the top bar (where you see "file", "edit" etc.), leaving a gap between the top bar and the window.
However, if I turn on Dock hiding, this problem goes away. But I do not want to turn on Dock hiding.
Are there any way I can solve this problem? Thank you!
(I hope I am posting my question in the right place.)

I am using Mac 10.9, by the way.

Make sure that Firefox closes properly and that that there are no longer Firefox or plugin-container processes left on the Processes tab in the Task Manager. Otherwise session restore will reopen the page(s) from the previous session.

I have the same problem - every time I close firefox (using either the red x or by selecting file ---> exit) the program appears to close normally, but the firefox.exe *32 process continues to run. If I try to re-open firefox normally I get a message that the program is still running and I need to go into task manager and manually kill the process.
I could also kill the process from the command prompt, but both of those methods are slow and annoying. This issue has only been occurring for the last 24 hours or so; to the best of my knowledge I haven't downloaded any new software or updated any plug-ins that would have caused a switch from firefox's normal awesomeness. Norton doesn't show any new viruses or other nastiness on my computer.
I'm running 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium edition.

  • Can I change the order or rotate pages in acrobat reader?

This may be a silly question... I actually own & use Pro, so I don't use Reader. But my grandmother has the reader and wants to know if she can change the order of pages (and rotate pages) in acrobat reader. Or does she need to buy acrobat standard?
    Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, she can't with just the free Reader. But she can ask you to do it for her...

  • Single page view mode in Acrobat Reader on android

Is there a way for a pdf to dictate the view mode used in Acrobat Reader on a smart phone? By default I believe  it is set to continuous however I would like it to automatically change to single page when my pdf is opened.

    Mark -
    You are correct.
In Acrobat Reader on my PC, I'm highlighting text and then adding a sticky-note comment to it.
So, if I just insert a sticky note comment without highlighting the associated text in the document, I can see the sticky note when I view the document on my android device - - just tested this and it works!
OK - I can live with that, but it would be good if the combination of highlighting AND sticky notes were visible when viewin the document in Android - the highlightimg feature makes it clearer to what piece of text the sticky bote relates to. Hope it can be incorporated in a furure release.
Thanks for clarifying the situation for me.

  • 200" viewing limitation in Acrobat/Reader?

    Hi all,
I have a diagram which is 220" inches wide.
When I open this document in Acrobat/Reader 9.0, it appears blank on the screen. However, when I go to the "View -> Grid" menu option, I am able to see the drawing (even after I turn the "Grid" option back off. (uncheck it)
When I view the document this way, I notice it has been cut off at the 200" mark. I have read in PDF API documentation that there is a 200" limit in Acrobat/Reader. Is this true?
When I print the document, it prints in it's entirety (220+").
Is anyone aware of such a limitation and is there a point release or plugin which may address this issue if it is indeed true?
    Thanks for any help,
    Jesse Perry

They way I tested this was to use the Acrobat JavaScript console, Advanced > Document Processing > JavaScript Debugger..., to create a new document.
I created a page that was over 200". The Acrobat JavaScript API measures in points, 72 points to an inch. A 200" page would 14400 points, so in the JS console I wrote:
    app.newDoc(15000, 15000);
This would create a 208.3 inch document. I checked the size of the resulting document in the Document Properties panel's "General" tab. The document was 200".
