Restore of OS X 10.4.7 G5 but only have original 10.4 Installer
I have had my Dual 2.0GHz G5 for a number of years now and it seems like it may be time for a clean install of the OS or restore. My system has been unexpected quitting most many applications lately and repair permissions and running both Disk Utility and Drive Genius on the system + resetting PRAM does not seem to help. During the course of the day Firefox unexpected quits many times and when it does, locks up the system where I need to Force Quote Firefox as it states it is not responding while it spins the beach ball. It has done this on other applications also but since I am on the web all day, it seems most while in web browsers. I figure it may be time.
So, I do have my original OS X 10.2 that came with the G5 and then have a OS X 10.4 Tiger DVD set but my system is all the way up to 10.4.7. I guess I am asking what is my best option here in terms of a restore. Obviously using my 10.2 or is is 10.3 that came with my G5 is much older than what I have so I do not think a Restore & Archive is an option. The 10.4 Tiger Install does not offer a restore I do not think but curious how I should proceed to get a fresh OS on but leave all my years of goodies on the system so I can easily get them back in place. iTunes and all that would be a pain to start over again.
Thanks
tj
Before reinstalling to fix this problem, try out your apps in a different user account for a while. If they start behaving properly, then something in your old home folder is to blame; and reinstalling OS X will not fix it if you plan to keep your old home folder. If the problems persist in the new account then you might try a reinstall.

hey iphone an iphone 3g and i only have about 13 apps and the yellow bar on itunes for my phone is way to big i deleted all my photos all my music every thing i ryed restoring ans all it still takes up space for sum reason ?? please someone help me
If Other (the yellow bar) is too big something is corrupted. The only solution (that I know of) is to restore from your most recent backup using iTunes (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766).

Wazir AliWell, if you did it yourself, then there is a chance that you damaged some other component inside the device that is causing your issue. The iPhone's are not user serviceable, and once you have opened the device you have voided any warranty and post-warranty support from Apple. I would try Google to see if you can find any other way to repair your device, as Apple will no longer look at it.

I'm waiting for my new iPhone 5s to be delivered. I lost my iPhone 5 but did have it backed up on my MacBook Pro. I was using iOS6 at the time. Will I have a problem restoring the data to my new iPhone 5s assuming it will come with iOS7?
No, you should not. There are problems trying to go the other way, but updating a newer iOS release from a backup of an older iOS release has always been supported and is the basic means of setting up a new device from a previous one.

I recently got a new iphone but when I restored it in iTunes one of my games that I have played for months RESET. How do I get my old game info back?
If you made a backup before you restored it you can restore your iPhone from a backup and your game data should be restored. When you connect your iPhone in iTunes you can right click on it in the sidebar and select restore from backup.

Can you help me on something? I restored my iPod and everything I had was gone. (What I Wanted) But then when I looked at my Usage It said I only have 22.5 GB Available and I Used 6.0 But I didn't. I also looked at my Backup storage and it still had all of my backup from before I restored. I deleted all my backup because it said I used all of my Backup Available. And now when I try and backup it says there is no more room or whatever to backup and Its 5/5.
You are not addressing Apple here. We are all just users like yourself

No app on the iOS device is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod/iPhone/iPad on the iOS device in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected or cellular data is on and connected for, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or continue to show off-line.
- You can also wipe/erase the iOS device and have the device play a sound via iCloud.
iCloud: Erase your device
iCloud: Use Lost Mode
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the device and report to police and carrier if iPhone or cellular iPad
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the erase (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 or later on the device. With iOS 7 or later, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

Hi,
Because of reasons my computer needed to be refreshed. My old firefox profile folder was saved though, and with that the bookmarkbackups. As the title says I restored my bookmarks from a resent .json file, but one folder (containing probably about a hundred bookmarks) is now empty and one other is missing completely.
In some places I have a 5 levels deep folder structure for my bookmarks, but since the folders missing are from different levels I don't think this is the problem.
The now empty folder contained six or seven other folders, that in turn contained a lot of bookmarks with titles including non-alphanumerical characters. †?|&*()<-/., to be precise. However, if I restore a very old .json (from september 2013) the folders are present and contain the mentioned bookmarks - albeit much fewer, since the file is old. A few other bookmarks still present also contain the mentioned characters, so this is probably not the problem either.
The folder that is completely missing just contained a lot of bookmarks that were to be sorted.
When opening the more recent .json files (I have a whole month of automatic backups to choose from) in the firefox scratchpad it would seem that the bookmarks are missing alltogether, so I suppose that there is not much to do about it (please correct me if I'm wrong), but I definitely want to report the bug.
Is there anything at all to do about it?
Thanks,
HannaIf the bookmarks aren't present in the JSON backup then it is likely that you got a corrupted places.sqlite file at some time that caused the backup not working properly.
Did you try all the backups?
Note that the xxxx part of the bookmarks-####-##-##_xxxx.json file name shows the number of bookmarks in the file. -

I want to reset my ipod touch 4th gen but i have forgotten the restrictions passcode and for some reason its not working on my laptop on itunes and the restore thing wont work! any help?
Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Then See Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...Re-Sync your Content
Note:
To remove a forgotten Restrictions passcode you will need to Restore the Device as New...
OR... From a Backup created Before the Restrictions Code was set.... -
I accidentally deleted a purchased itunes song but still have it on my ipod. Is there anyway to restore it to my laptop from the ipod? I've seen others with a similar situation and the question was asked if it was still on the ipod but can't find a follow up to point me in the right direction.
Use the Transfer Purchases command in iTunes.

Bapi to read 'customer master'
Hi, I have some kind of customer hierarchy defined in the 'Partner Functions' for a customer. Example: cust01 (the 'customer-master') is the sold-to, bill-to, payer, ship-to partner, and it has 3 more ship-to partners (cust11, cust12, cust13). It mea
