  • How to restore SAP Business One Backup?

    Hi all,
When I schedule SAP Business One Backup using Server tools, it creating compressed backup file. This contest of compressed file having .BU extension.
Now my qeestion is how do I restore this backup file?
    Thanks in advance
    B Ravi Shankar

    Hello,
Open SQL Server Management Studio (SQL 2005) or Enterprise Manager (SQL 2000). You could directly restore the backup of the database but you must create new database first where its mdf and log files are located in the certain folder or data folder of SQL server and then restore the BU database by right click on the new database name > Tasks > Restore..Database and select your backup file from its location. On the Restore Database Screen. Check the Restore box and in the Options check "Overwrite the existing database". you must also check if the location is correct.
If you have had olde database and just want to restore the new database from other server to old one, you could directly restore.

  • RMAN restore from active database, ASM

I'm attempting to refresh a stage database from a prod database using RMAN restore from active database. Both are on ASM. After working through various hurdles, I've got one issue I'm a bit stuck on. I've got a handful of data files that do NOT have OMF names (ie MSTRDATA/mstrmdpd/datafile/gsa_indx instead of MSTRDATA/mstrmdpd/datafile/gsa_indx.351.714779777) and these are failing when I do the restore. The syntax I'm using in RMAN is as follows:
    duplicate target database to dwstage
    from active database
    spfile parameter_value_convert 'dwprod','dwstage'
    SET DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT '+DWPROD','+DWSTAGE'
    SET LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT '+DWPROD','+DWSTAGE';
The error message I'm getting is this:
RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on ORA_DISK_1 channel at 04/21/2011 13:26:24
ORA-17628: Oracle error 19505 returned by remote Oracle server
continuing other job steps, job failed will not be re-run
Normally from what I've seen/read this error can be traced back to needing to pre-create the directories for the controlfiles etc, but since 90% of the datafiles copied correctly...
Any suggestions as to a way around this, or am I going to be forced to restore from a backupset?

This fails saying that "ORA-12528: TNS:listener: all appropriate instances are blocking new connections" which is quite normal given that the listener is havig a handle in BLOCKED state for this AUXDB as it is in NOMOUNT state.
Could you please help me on how to proceed?
One option can be to create the controlfile manually and mount the instance before doing the duplicate. I hope Rman can continue from there.
Another option is to go for backup based duplicate.
Is there any other way to go?
Provide static registration on AUXILIARY side for your auxiliary instance and try again. For example change listener.ora file as
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
      (SID_LIST =
        (SID_DESC =
          (GLOBAL_DBNAME = AUXDB)
          (ORACLE_HOME = <your oracle home>)
          (SID_NAME = AUXDB)
    LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = <auxiliary host/ip>)(PORT = 1521))
)And restart listener on auxiliary host then try again

  • How to Manually Restore SharePoint Content Database from DPM Backup to Alternative Farm

I have restored a content database of a site collection from a DPM backup, and the result is the MDF and LDF files of the database in a directory I specified in the restored wizard in DPM.
In my other SharePoint farm (a test environment) simply trying to attach these files in the target farm's SQL server produces an error as follows:
"Paths that begin with \\?\GlobalRoot are internal to the kernel and should not be opened by managed applications. (mscorlib) "
Given I have the DPM restored database, on an alternative farm, how can I manually restore this content database? What are the required steps?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi
Gr8 - don't ask me to explain, somehow SQL caches the backup location which is from a snapshot starting with
\\?\GlobalRoot and copying them discards that so they can me mounted.
    Glad that resolved your issue.

    Hi,
i would like to know, if is it possible to backup and restore a olite database on a MUC (mobile unite computer).
Is there a war we can export/import, datapump or generate a xml file and put it back in the database on demand.
Some clients can be more then two weeks between a synchro. We would like to backup the database on the MUC itself incase of a corruption and be able to restore it, and do the syn before the corruption or problem append.
We are just looking for a solution and not lost any data upadte or insert by the client (not do a complet refresh before the crash).

The Oracle Database Lite Load Utility (olload) enables you to load data from an
external file into a table in Oracle Database Lite, or to unload (dump)
data from a table in Oracle Database Lite to an external file. Please see the Client Guide in Oracle Lite 10.3.0.2.0

    Hi Experts,
We are in the process of upgrading one of our client from SAP Business one 2007B PL13 to SAP Business One 8.8. While trying to open  the client's live database in 8.8, system throws a message "You cannot upgrade company databases from SAP Business One client. Use the Upgrade CD or contact your IT administrator for the upgrade". Plz guide me on how can I open the DBs used in 2007B in 8.8??
    Regards,
    Madhavan

    Hi
I thiink your database is not updated ..Install client in your server and try with opening  up ..
It will probably ask you to back up the database and upgrade ...
If not ,uninstall everything thing ..instead of having new installation ,download the upgrade version and see if resolves your issue
    Hope this helps

  • "Invalid column name" when restoring SAP DM IFRS Starter Kit

I want to share an issue that we came across when restoring the SAP Disclosure Management IFRS Starter Kit. Namely when trying to restore it on an environment we got the following error:
    Server Error in '/' Application.
    Invalid column name 'AccountExpirationDate'.
    Invalid column name 'PasswordChangedDate'.
    Invalid column name 'LastSuccessfulLoginDate'.
In our case, after getting this error we tried restoring the SK on SAP Disclosure Management SP06 and it turned out to work ok so hope that this solves it for anyone else stuck at the same

    Hi Rajneesh,
Check whether you have both the row-axis and column-axis of the input template through 'edit report'.
Probably your input template has some member dimensions missing in your template.
We have faced the same problem before and corrected it.
This error occurs sometimes when we create a input template by clearing defining the row & column axis in the template but afterwards try some EPMOlapmember in any axis by deleting the original report elements.
So check the input template once again. I think you will track the error.

  • Can I restore SAP GUI patch level 5 from Patch level 7

    Hi,
I updated SAP GUI 710 from patch level 5 to level 7, is it possible to revert this change to patch level 5 again, as our business requirement is only patch level 5.
    How to restore it back?
Also, what changes made by SAP in patch level 7 from 5, 3 etc?
    Thanks

    Hi Martin
    Thanks for answering my queries.
Reason for going back to patch 5 is to maintain all client of production system at one level.
Certainly using higer patch level will also includes all functionalities of lower level.
But, did someone try to load patch 5 on patch 7, does it work?
Becoz, I am in production, so not in very good position to take this risk.
    What you ppl say?
There should be some way to restore your GUI to back date, is it!, like one we do to restore our windows machine.

Test connection is performed after you fill SMTP server, select authentication by login authentication, fill the user name and password then press test connection button. if succeed, you could use the sbo mailer now.
I have experienced that test connection using free smtp server and no authentication will succeed in my SBO mailer but when trying to send e-mail, it is error. If use authentication, it won't work well.
So, I am sure free SMTP server will not succeed because there could possible connection issue. If you want to succeed, just contact the internet provider and free smtp server provider.
I suggest to use exchange server system. you just give your IP to the MIS dept so that they open a certain port and SMTP address for your sbo mailer.

  • Database restore from different Database Sid

I have installed sap ecc6 sr3 on db2 version 9.1 fp5 which is running on WIn2003 Enterprise x64 edition which is working fine. It is my Quality server Database Sid Q11.
Now i want to restore database from Development server D11 (offline backup) to quality server Q11.
Development server database Sid is D11.
How to restore from Different Sid. (In DB2 database).
Please tell me how to restore database from another Sid.

    Hi,
what you have to do is a so called "redirected restore".
The recommended way to that in an SAP-DB2 environment, is to use the tool brdb6brt shipped together with the SAP kernel. For details how to use this tool refer to the DB2-UDS Database Administration Guide.
    kind regards
    Thomas
