Restore Session didn't come up

Hello there,
Over the last few weeks I've had a LOAD of tabs open on my Firefox which i've needed to keep for work and I've been slowly going through them.
During this time Firefox has always restored these tabs fins each time I've opened.
Yesterday it didn't though and just came up with 1 fresh new tab. Today it has come up with the 2 tabs from the session yesterday.
Has the session previous to yesterday (with all the tabs) been lost forever,
If so, I'm in trouble!
Thank you

  • Restored Session, some tabs come back blank

I had about 1000 tabs open in firefox, it is no surprise that it crashes often due to this it uses alot of CPU to run. Usually once it crashes, I just press the Restore session button and everything comes back. However, this tab alot of the tabs came back empty and blank, while others come back normally, what seems to be te problem?

    Hello Mahdi
Thank you for replying to my problem. But as I have stated before, normally I press the Restore session button and all my tabs are back, so they all have reached their destination. However, for some odd reason in this weird circumstance, a lot of my tabs this time came up as New Tabs instead while the others restored normally.

  • How do I remove the "Restore Session" page that comes up every time I open Firefox, Even by quitting it properly?

Ever since I upgraded to v20 of Firefox a problem has occurred where I will close Firefox properly (close browser and then quit application as I am on a Mac) but when I open it again I will get a message. This message is "Oh this is embarrassing..." and try to get me to reopen my tabs I had before. This will also happen if I have just one tab open and then close it. I was wondering if there is a way to fix it!

Hi susiqw, it's hard to see when the text is all written as a single sentence, but the steps are:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box in that tab, type or paste '''sessions''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click '''browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash''' to toggle its value from true to false.

  • SAP didn't come up after restore

    Hi Gurus,
We are running SAP NetWeaver (7.0) 2004s SR2 with SQL Server 2005. Our database server crashed last night due to media corruption. I reinstalled the SQL Server 2005 and restored the database. Restore operation completed successfully. But SAP didn't come up.
What else I need to consider to bring the SAP up?
    Thanks
    Peter.

    Hi Peter,
    Please check the following prerequisite.
1.Use the collation type "Dictionary order, case-sensitive, for use with the 850 (Multilingual) Character Set" when you install the SQL Server 2005 instead of the correct setting of SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS. This is most common mistake.
2.Check whether Environmental variable set properly.
    3. Check whether restoration completed successfully.
    Rgds,

    Back from where?
You choose to not copy them off to a computer as they are designed to be.
If they are no longer showing in iCloud, they are gone.

  • The restore session has stopped working. It tries to load, but then gives an error message that the script is not working and will not actually show the previous tabs I had open.

I count on using the Firefox restore session feature. But it's stopped working. For the past couple of days, it hasn't worked a single time. (I haven't changed anything on my PC.) It just suddenly stopped working.
Now it gives me an error message that the script has stopped working. It gives me a couple of options. I'm not sure of the exact wording, but one option is to stop the script and the other is to keep trying. But the keep trying never works.
I have to stop the script, hence, the list with my previous tabs never comes up.

Which file is mentioned as the cause of that script error?<br />
Is that a file with a chrome protocol?

  • Usually after Firefox crashes I can restore session but sometimes it won't let me. Is there a way to restore a session once automatic option goes away?

    1. Firefox crashes and an error message appears.
    2. I open Firefox again.
    3. Automatically Firefox asks if I want to restore the last session or start a new session.
    4. Usually it works to restore a session, but at random times, it does not and the following happens.
    5. I move the mouse toward the restore session button but don't quite get there when my usual home page opens.
Question: once this happens is there a way to get my old session back, like a place where you can manually request Firefox restart the last session?

did not have that extension installed, but did it now and can't find anything there that would concern tab groups. (also referred to as Panorama). This session manager seems to provide a lot of stuff that the browser is supposed to do anyhoo, but with more options of configuration. Hope extension and browser won't cause a mess while attempting to do both the same thing.
Yes, I know that Bookmark all tabs is still available via right click - after a google-search told me so. My feedback was - why remove functionality from the menu? It's really not overloaded - and I'd expect a menu listing me the complete set of functions a software allows me to do, unless it busts the menu. So I was just asking myself - how come it has been removed? Makes no sense to me.
    Thanks for your reply.

  • When the first version of the Restore Session tab was implemented in an update for Firefox?

''Duplicate post, continue here - [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/806369]''
Essentially, I'm trying to find out how many sessions I can restore since, after the creation of this feature, I typically allowed the "Restore Session" Tab to remain in the window, allowing me to at least access the last few sessions later on when I'm much less busy. Unfortunately, I let it get a bit out of hand. Is there any way for me to find out how many sessions I have saved in this way by searching through files or folders affiliated with this browser? Even if the history clears about every 290 something days, are these sessions and the information they require stored in such a way that the clearing of history would not create a problem if I want to restore very old sessions that were left in this manner? (I recently changed it to allow all of my history to be saved, rather than just limiting the number of days, but I fear I might have taken this action too late. And I'm going to download a "Session Manager" add-on, to help me with this in the future, but, I'm still worried about these past sessions.) Any help or information would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

You can only manage multiple sessions with an extension like Session Manager (extends the build-in session restore) or Tab Mix Plus (has its own implementation of session restore, so can be less reliable if Firefox doesn't close properly). The basic build-in Firefox session restore only handles the previous session. Firefox 4 has a button on the about:home page and a menu entry (History > Restore Previous Session), but Firefox 3 doesn't have that feature. Session Restore stores a list of currently open tabs, so the amount of history that you keep shouldn't matter.

  • Can't execute command - drive didn't come online; check configuration/hardw

I have a Scalar i500 on a Linux host attached via fiber channel. I have everything working accept automounting the drive. I can't seem to get it working.
I can use the web interface of the i500 and then put a tape in the drive. I can then mount the drive from Secure Backup and run a back up just fine. Yet, I can't run a backup without a tape mounted. If I choose "Load Volume (Drive).... I get the error "can't execute command - drive didn't come online; check configuration/hardware"
I can inventory the library and do just about anything except automount the drives. I run a verify and the configuration comes back clean with no errors. I have tried using the SCSI params in the obl0 and obt0 ,and obt2 with no success. I have tried using the raw /dev/sg paths with no success. Same error.
This is a upgraded installation from 10.1 to 10.3. I have tried doing a clean install with same issue. I have restored the installation and then run a upgrade with the same issue.
I am stuck. Please help :)
    Thanks

It appears you may have the DTE's swapped.
Swap the DTE #'s assigned to the drive device objects and try again. This could happen during an upgrade if you reassigned scsi settings and the obt0 and obt1 devices swapped scsi settings from when they ran things last.

  • FFresFF crashing and restore session has been crashing without warning or notice for the past two weeks every other day, losing my restore session open windows

several times in the past 2 weeks, i come back to my computer to find FF has closed. there are no alerts or notices of a crash. when i use restore session, only 3 windows are listed as "recently closed", when I have 20 or so open. i believe there have been 2 updates in that period. i have to manually go through 'all history" to find my missing windows!

every time I have a problem with FF recently, someone suggests this. I try it and learn nothing.

  • My iMac won't boot past grey screen and it didn't come with a os x disk

My iMac won't boot past grey screen with apple. I've tried booting in safemode but that didn't help and my iMac didn't come with a os x disk.

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a startup failure is to secure the data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to start. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Start up from the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, start the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
If the startup process stops at a blank gray screen with no Apple logo or spinning "daisy wheel," then the startup volume may be full. If you had previously seen warnings of low disk space, this is almost certainly the case. You might be able to start up in safe mode even though you can't start up normally. Otherwise, start up from an external drive, or else use either of the techniques in Steps 1b and 1c to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation.
    Step 3
Sometimes a startup failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 4
If you use a wireless keyboard, trackpad, or mouse, replace or recharge the batteries. The battery level shown in the Bluetooth menu item may not be accurate.
    Step 5
If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 6
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can start up now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
    Step 7
If you've started from an external storage device, make sure that the internal startup volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Start up in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know the login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you start up in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, the startup volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 10. If you ever have another problem with the drive, replace it immediately.
If you can start and log in in safe mode, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the startup process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 8
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select the startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then restart as usual.
    Step 9
Reinstall the OS. If the Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 10
Do as in Step 9, but this time erase the startup volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically restart into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer the data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 11
This step applies only to models that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery: all Mac Pro's and some others (not current models.) Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a startup failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 12
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • DB didn't come up along with crs after node reboot

    Grid Version: 11.2.0.3
OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6
Node2 of our two node RAC got rebooted. Upon reboot, CRS and ASM instance came up. But the DB didn't come up.
How can I check if DB is linked to CRS startup ?
How can I enable DB startup upon CRS startup ?

    Hi,
Check Alert log of Database Instance on that node.
By default if Oracle Database Instance already is started in one node, CRS automaticaly start Database Instance automatically on others nodes.
But if you issue "srvctl stop instance" before shutdown of node the state of this resource will be "shutdown" (i.e stay down) CRS database resource have by default the attribute AUTO_START=restore, which means Oracle CRSD will remember last state of that resource.
In this case you must manually issuing "srvctl start instance" after startup of clusterware, but if database instance was running and you issued "crctl stop crs", crsd must start database automatically at clusterware start.

  • Restore Session bug - fails after history is cleared

This has happened occasionally in the past, but after the latest Firefox update it's happening almost every time. When I close the browser, I like to clear the history first. Also, before I clear the history, I open a new blank tab and close the old tab, just to make sure all history is cleared. Then, the next time I start the browser, I get that message about not being able to restore the session, the one that starts with "Well, this is embarrassing. Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs."
Same behavior as in this other thread, but I guess I'm supposed to start a new thread.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/959257
I didn't know there's a "clear history when Firefox closes" feature, I've just been doing it all manually.

I haven't gotten the "Restore Session" error since I changed to using File > Exit instead of the X on the title bar, so I'll call this solved. I'd appreciate it if there's anything you could do to get the developers to look at this, though. This is a pretty vanilla use case and there's no reason for it to produce an error. It was working fine until the latest release.
