Restore Session no longer works properly, the window shows as blank, and the restore button is greyed out. On the history tab, the three associated links are also greyed out and unusable. How do I restore functionality?
Just as the question says, I get a restore session tab whenever I open Firefox, but it no longer shows my tabs, and the Restore button is greyed out. If I open and then close a side, it no longer shows up in the "recently closed tabs" in the History menu. "restore previous session" and "Recently closed windows" are also greyed out.
I'd like this function to work correctly again.
Make sure that you do not use Clear History to clear the <i>Browsing History</i> when you close Firefox.

Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting is a more reliable way to restore session data.

Hello,
We currently use Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 and it doesn't seem to be compatible with the latest version of Firefox (33). When I try to open a sharepoint page, only a blank page appears. I do not get any error messages. The sharepoint works with other browsers, such as Chrome.
Is there a work around available so that we may continue to use Firefox?

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Command+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* click the globe or padlock to the left of the address in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).

IPhoto Functions No Longer Working Properly?
Since updating from OS10.3.3 to O10.3.9 my iPhoto no longer works properly. Reducing red eye leaves an ugly greenish-bluish-black mark, for example. I have checked for upgrades. None available. Does anyone know how, or if, this can be fixed? Thanks

"Reducing" red-eye is a little misleading. It's removed, not reduced, and what you're seeing is the absence of color. The effect shouldn't be very noticeable unless you're zoomed in for very close viewing, in which case you'll need to use a more sophisticated image editor to fix the red-eye. -
When I close Firefox, the windows closes normally, but firefox.exe still appears in Processes in Task Manager. I have to End Process to open Firefox again, and it goes to Restore Last Session page.

I could also kill the process from the command prompt, but both of those methods are slow and annoying. This issue has only been occurring for the last 24 hours or so; to the best of my knowledge I haven't downloaded any new software or updated any plug-ins that would have caused a switch from firefox's normal awesomeness. Norton doesn't show any new viruses or other nastiness on my computer.

Itunes will no longer work on my Windows 8 PC. When I attempt to start the program a message says: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I have tried to uninstall iTunes but the Windows uninstaller will not delete the program I get a message that says: A network error occurred while attempting to read file: C:\Windows|Installer|iTunes.msi. How do I get iTunes to work again?

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).

After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
(2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Getting the error message:
the item Itunes.exe that this shortcut referes to has been moved or changed so this shortcut will no longer work properly.
I tried going into the control panel/programs /itunes and selected repair which didn't fix it. Any suggestions on restoring the broken shortcut without removing and re-installing the program?

Thank youI think it is some sort of permissions issue preventing the installer from updating the shortcuts. Is your account an administrator of the machine? If it is and you still have the problem then you may need to explicitly use the "Administrator" account for the install.

When I click on the iTunes ikon I get a box pop up which reads Problem with shortcut. The item iTunes.exe that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly.
My computer which is a packard bell vista operating system, recently stopped working as the power supply overheated and blew up and it has recently been sent back to the Know How team at PC world and it seems to be since it came back I now cannot open iTunes. I have also tried to search for iTunes in the search bar, I can see several files, but can't seem to open any of these either. I think that quicktime isn't working, either.
I have over 4000 songs in iTunes that I had recorded from my collectiong of CD's am going to loose all these now? Can anyone help, with very easy instructions as I really don't know what I am doing??
ThanksI would copy over the entire thing if you have room. With iTunes 10.4 though, you can download any previous iTunes purchases you have made in the past with your current iTunes account. While in iTunes, look at the left hand side of your screen and select "Purchases" and look at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Download Previous Purchases". If you have an iPhone, iPod and/or iPad...you can do the same thing from each device. Nice new feature...just remember that those ripped CDs need a back-up!!! Enjoy...

I cannot open itunes on my windows (older verson of windows) It keeps saying short cut has change or moved and no longer working properly. I have tried to do a repair on the file but the computer wont let me. I have tried reinstalling itunes but still not working. Ever since i downloaded OSX Mountain Lion, Express VPN no longer works properly for me. Even though it says I am connected, webpages refuse to load. However, connection speed is fine when its turned off. I cannot go on many websites without the VPN. My current location is Shanghai, China. OSX Mountain was installed this morning and everything worked fine until then. Is Express VPN not supported? What do i need to do in order to get it working again on my Macbook Pro (early 2011). I am having the same issue listed above on my new Mac Mini i just bought, I also contacted Express VPN support and got the same instructions with exception of the command to run in the utilities terminal. I tried the steps listed, and both commands (posted here, and sent to me directly by Express VPN support), and still unable to connect on my Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.2, but I am able to connect on my iPad and my MacBook which is running Mac OS X 10.6.8. I just downloaded the latest itunes update 11.1 for windows 7 and now when I try to open itunes with the shortcut on my desktop I get this error message: "The item 'itunes.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly." I can't open itunes at all. Is there anything I can do or is there a problem with the new update?

If so, delete the current shortcut that is in the Quick Start tray and drag the one that is in Start > Programs down there. -
I installed IOUSB family log release osx 10.5.6 on my mac osx 10.5.8. I am trying to log an rfid reader on the usb. Sadly on restart the usb is no longer working. Happily Windows is still running OK. Is there a way to get my usb back working? And is there a way to navigate in Windows to the file I installed and remove it? Any help appreciated.

When trying to open lightroom I get a message that says, "The lightroom.exe that the short cut refers to has been changed or moved, so the short cut will no longer work properly. Do you want to remove this short cut? The program has opened and worked fine in the past.
You have (probably accidentally) moved or deleted the Lightroom program. You need to find it (have your operating system search for lightroom.exe) and move it back to where the shortcut expects it to be.

To get your CD or DVD drive working correctly, try these suggestions in the order listed.
Reinstall the Driver
Hold the Windows key and press the 'x' key to open a menu in the lower-left. In this menu, select "Device Manager." Expand "DVD/CD-ROM drives." Right-click the entry for the CD/DVD drive nested under "DVD/CD-ROM drives," then select "Uninstall." Finally, restart the computer. The computer will reinstall the drivers for the drive.
Power Cycle
Even when your laptop is off and unplugged, residual power can still be held in some components. While this is normal, clearing it can help with some hardware problems. Perform these steps to complete what’s called a power cycle.
Ensure the laptop is turned off.
Unplug the laptop's AC power cable.
Unplug all wires and peripherals. This includes CDs, DVDs, USB sticks, mice, printers, and any other accessories.
Remove the battery (if the model has a removable battery). If the model does not have a removable battery, check your user's guide to determine if you have a pinhole reset on the bottom. If you do, press this.
Hold down the power button for thirty seconds.
Reattach the battery if removed.
Connect the AC adaptor to the power socket that was confirmed to be working in the first step.
Connect the other end of the AC adaptor to your computer.
Start the computer and test the drive

Try using System Restore to restore to the most restore point from before the problem arose.

System Recovery
If the System Restore doesn't solve the issue, you could try a System Reset. Resetting your laptop to its original, out-of-the-box state is a great way to eliminate software as a possible cause of the problem.
