Restore Settings - any other option?!

Connected my ipod and it is saying that I have to restore settings. This happened after I had it plugged into my home computre and my husband put some songs on from his iTunes. Obviously I don't want to have to do this. Any ideas on what I can try?
Thanks

Hello there,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
The iPod's drive letter may need to be reassigned. For instructions on how to do this, see the Apple support document below. Hope it helps.

Maybe a data recovery company can help. Otherwise you will have to erase the iPod tn order to regain use of the iPod. You can also restore from your last backup. The Disbled is a good security feature.
    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT4097 are there any other options other than 1- 6 restoration?

recently pluged into itunes for latest update. after unable to updateI am bein promped to restore.Any other option availiable?

The only way is to connect to iTune (computer) to restore/recover your iPad.
If you do not have a iTune or iCloud backup, data will be lost.

  • Have "OK to DiscoTried to reset, didn't work. Any other options other than restoring?

Have "OK to Disconnect" frozen with low light backlit. Won't turn off or able see any files. Tried to reset, didn't work. Any other options other than restoring?

By a reset, I assume you mean pressing and holding both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear?  Is the hold/lock switch in the On position?
If you cannot get the iPod to reset, your only other option at this point is to just sit and wait for the iPod's battery to full drain.  Then charge it back up and restore in iTunes if necessary.

  • My ipod 4G won't connect to my wifi at home with new router. Says "unable to connect" and won't give me any other options. Have tried resetting network connections. Help.

My ipod 4G won't connect to my wifi at home with new router. Says "unable to connect" and won't give me any other options. Have tried resetting network connections. I don't want to lose anything. I have tried turning everything off and back on again. Desktop and laptop are working fine. Sometimes it turns on suddenly and I can use it for like 20 mins but then shuts off again. Same thing is happening with my dad's iphone, Help.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Since I have the newest version of itunes, I can't back up like normally. The only way is to considilate files and then put them on an external drive which I don't have. Are there any other options? If I can't back up to a disc like I used to, can I instead just keep everything on my ipod and then if I have to get a new computer or something just download all my songs from the ipod to my new computer's itunes? Will that work? Will I still be able to keep all my songs that way?

I'm going to assume the consolidating files does not work due to hard drive space limitations.
Since you're moving to Windows 7, have you tried using the Windows files and settings transfer utility?  That will move everything for you to the same location on the new computer, it also allows some control over what actually gets moved.
Alternatively, if you know the location of all of the media, it can be manually moved by copying it from the old computer to the new computer in the same location.
Also, using the Apple article on moving the library, take a slight twist on what it says.  Move the iTunes library to the external drive, update the settings in iTunes to reflect the library being on the external drive, then consolodate it.
The options are endless for moving the library... it simply takes a little effort to make it happen and possibly a twist on existing "standard" methods depending on your unique situation.

  • ILog Calendar control pricing is absurd - any other options?

After three days of trying, I was finally able to get some OEM pricing out of IBM for the calendar control showcased in Tour de Flex.  Apparently, they're quite proud of it.  For the single control (not the entire suite) they want $7249.  And that price is is for a limited three-year license.  Oh, and apparently that price is also the "special price tier" for startups.
I've found flexcalendar which seems pretty good but was wondering if there are any other options out there that folks have found.
    Thanks!

    Hi there @sab-ero
I understand that you want to change your display settings in the BIOS.
I can certainly understand your desire to do so, but in the case of notebooks, many BIOS settings are commonly locked out, in order to prevent inadvertent damage due to issues like excessive heat. Many tweaks that users like to do on desktops are not as feasible on a notebook due to the limitations in design and heat dissipation. The design philosophy of a notebook is more concerned with maximizing battery life, and portability, as well as to try to cram as much functionality as possible into the unit, while at the same time avoiding anything that will compromise the portability and battery life.
In the past it was found that BIOS manipulation of some key features was a common cause in essentially bricking a notebook, mostly due to heat from overclocking the unit.
So although I can understand your desire, it is not an option in your BIOS. I hope this at least helps to explain why.

Buy an iTunes Music Card and redeem it to your account - the "none" option should be available then.

What does the message say, exactly?
    Try this:
From the Finder's Go menu, choose Computer:
Double-click your hard disk icon. It is usually named "Macintosh HD":
    Look for this folder:
If it appears in that window, drag it to the Trash.

of course you can use internal table in BAdi, do like this.
data: itab type table of ....
    data: wa type ...
    Example:
data: itab type (standard, sorted, hashed) table of mara.
    data: wa type mara.
Or create your own type within the badi.
    types: begin of ty_xxx,
                fielda  type c,
                fieldb  type n,
                fieldc  type d.
    types: end   of ty_xxx
data: itab type table of ty_xxx.
    data: wa type ty_xxx.

I just purchased a second hand iPad in carboot.i didn't realised that the old accnt is still linked to the device, now I icant activate my account .I don't  know where and how to contact the original owner.what should I do activate my accnt?is there any other option?

Apple cannot help you locate the original owner. If you have no way to contact him/her, and you purchased directly from the seller rather than through a site that offers buyer protection, then the iPad is useless to you and you have wasted your money. The iPad is quite probably stolen and you should turn it in to the police.
This is why it's very risky and usually unwise to purchase out of a car boot from someone you don't know.

  • Adobe XI when i use signature option i try to use rectangle, it gives option of certificate signature, does not give me webcam or digital signature or any other option to sign

when i use signature option i try to use rectangle, it gives option of certificate signature, does not give me webcam or digital signature or any other option to sign, have downgraded to Adobe X, no options show. Have upgraded back to XI no change. Free software I am using currently.

There are two types of signatures in PDF: electronic signatures, which are just images (stamps, text, image) and digital signatures.
If you want to use electronic signatures in Acrobat XI go to Fill&Sign->Place Signature. If a drag rectangle for the digital signature dialog comes up, you have selected digital signatures and Acrobat/Reader remembered it. Cancel it, go back to Fill&Sign->Place Signature and click a triangle to the left of "Place Signature". Then click on "Changed Saved Signature" and select the electronic signature type you want to use.
If you want to use digital signatures you can create custom digital signature appearance. Go to Edit->Preferences->Signatures->Creation&Appearance->More. In the "Appearances" section click "New". You will be presented with the dialog that allows you to create a custom appearance. If you want to put there your picture or image of your ink signature, you need to prepare this image as a file beforehand, select "Image" radio button, browse to the location of your image file. In Reader you can use only PDF as your image file. In Acrobat you can use many more file formats: JPEG, PNG, etc.
