Restore settings iphone troubleshoot

I was having trouble getting my email. So after trying everything else I restore settings.
When it powered back up I got the first screen saying to pick language, which i did, then country, which i did, location services, done. Wi-fi... done. Problem occurs on next step. I chose to restore from itunes back up. Connected phone to computer and conected to itunes. Itunes performs the back up and then it just sits on this screen. It will not go any further. Any ideas???? Help please!

I reset all settings. I did not do a restore. Not sure if this matters.
Went to settings on phone, reset and reset all settings.

I made the wrong choice when I connected my new iPhone 5 to my MacBook Pro for the first time (lost ALL my new photos because it restored settings that were 9 months old) - can I re-do this somehow and configure it as a new phone?

I connected my new iPhone 5 to my (now fully updated after two separate operating system upgrades!) MacBook Pro so that I could add my music to my new phone. Rather than configuring it as a new iPhone, I chose to configure it as my old iPhone, thinking that this would make it easier for my music to be there. WRONG. Now my new iPhone 5 looks exactly like my old iPhone 4 did in OCTOBER, 2012 - photos, messages, contacts... anything done since then is gone (that was the last time I had backed up my old phone, which unfortunately was not connected to the cloud and is also lost somewhere in a New England lake :-(). What I could really, really use help with is finding out if I can have a do-over on my choice and at least get my new phone looking/acting like the new phone it is, and bonus would be to have the photos and videos I took with it this past weekend (it's only five days old!) restored. Please help!

Look iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is a backup listed for your iPhone 5 dated BEFORE you restored your iPhone 4 backup to your iPhone 5? If not, your data is gone. If there is a backup, on your iPhone 5: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You should now be able to restore that backup, if it exists, to your iPhone 5.

I am wanting to restore my iPhone 4 (not 4s) to it's factory settings. Do I need an internet connection and/or itunes connection to do that??

As the subject suggests I want to restore my iPhone 4 to it's factory settings and am wondering if I need to have an internet and/or itunes connection in order to do that? I just don't want to get 1/2 way through the reset and get stuck because I don't have the required connections..

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.

How can i sync my iphone to a new computer without restoring settings and deleting everything?

I've just gotten a new desktop computer and I'd love to have my iPhone synced to it...but I cannot do that without "restoring" settings or erasing my current library to sync to this new library. The problem is I have absolutely nothing on this new computer and I do not wish to delete anything on my phone... what's the best way to go about this without losing any of my notes, photos, contacts, apps etc? I accidentally restored my iphone last year and it was horrible trying to get everything back on it, I just don't really want to do that again! I'm thinking I could possibly back up to iCloud and then erase my current library and start from there, but I'm very paranoid about losing my contacts and my photos! Also I just visited the iCloud website and I couldn't figure out how to access my photos on there. Any help that anyone could offer would be awesome! Thank you!

My iphone 4 conked out.it was not receiving signal so I switched on and off. But instead of taking me to the apps page it showed ios6 and asked me to go to itunes for an update.instead of updating it asked me to restore settings.now only logo appears

Did you do the update via iTunes?
If you are only getting the logo will want to try to see if can get device in recovery mode and try the restore process via iTunes again.
If you are still unable to get the device to restore will need a repair
Out of Warranty will cost

This usually means that a required component is missing. Start with completely uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components in the order specified in the article below. Once this is done, download and install iTunes.

I'm sorry to hear that your iPhone 4s was lost, and glad that you were able to upgrade.
If your iPhone 4s was backed up to iCloud or using iTunes, you can restore the backed up data to your new phone.

Will I lose all my settings if I have to restore my iPhone 4?

I was updating my phone via a computer then wifi crashed now my iPhone 4 is stuck with a picture of a cable pointing towards the iTunes symbol. I connected it back to my computer hoping it would start updating again but it tells me I have to restore my phone but it will go back to the factory settings.

OneLuckyWoman in order to avoid this please backup your iPhone in iTunes.
Follow the steps in this article to backup your iPhone in iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Once you've done that, you will need to restore from that backup which this article tells you how to do. And than your text messages will be restored as well. I hope this helps. If you have any questions please just let me know.
