Restore sms/phone log from iphone (data was manually deleted)
Hello,
there is an iphone 5 with iOS8 and it is needed to restore SMS and Contacts / phone log.
Backup in the Cloud or on itunes is not available. (wasn´t done)
It seems that the data were deleted manually.
Thank you in advance!
best regards paul
first disconnect the iPhone from the internet so it doesn't sent the order to icloud to delete it as well. then check on iCloud.com to see if the Contacts are still there (they still sync even if you didn't set up a backup, and export your contacts from there, then re-import them. if they're not there and you have no backup, there is no way to get them back.
and the SMS are lost as well, there's nothing you can do if you don't have a backup and deleted them.

Hi iv added iCloud to my iphone5 and by doing so I've now lost all contacts, photos and also my iMessage please can someone help me to restore my phone back to how it was before doing this? I went to backup and chose wrong backup date and I'm now stuck. This is driving me mad PLEASE someone help??
As far as I know you can't delete the primary email address for an iCloud account. It's assigned when the account is created. But your neighbor wouldn't have been able to get into your iCloud account without your Apple ID and password. Are you sure the account wasn't still on your phone when you gave it to him?
You could migrate a copy of your data to a new iCloud account but I would still be concerned that someone else was using my old account, which presumably still has your data in it.
I'm fairly certain that you're going to have to have iCloud support help you sort this one out as they may have the ability to make changes to an existing account that users can't. Make an appointment with the genius bar at a nearby Apple store and have them take a look at it. If necessary, they should be able to contact iCloud support for you. -

How do I restore my phone to a specific date?
I activated my new iphone today and when I restored my icloud all of my contacts and pictures came back. When I hooked my phone up to my computer it restored my phone back to a date in february and alot of my pictures are missing now. Is there any way I can retrieve them? My icloud is showing several backup dates but does not give me an option to restore my phone from those points.
Should have added when I chose the device and select from the backup I want, the message ITunes could not restore the iPhone 'Tiff'sPhone' because the iPhone refused the request' appears...

Transfer phone numbers from iphone 3gs to iphone 4s?
How can I transfer phone numbers from iphone 3gs to iphone 4s?
I recently upgraded from 3GS to 4S
I used mobile me for yers so i trustef this would work -
Ensure that everything is uptodate on the 3GS
sign in to icloud in the settings on the 3GS and ensure you are syncing contacts (calendars etc also but as you are only querying phone numbers you only seem interested in contacts)
use the same Apple ID on the 4s when you initially turn it on to set it up (this is what i did, icloud downloaded everything including my settings and what apps were in which folders and where)
If your 4s is already set up ensure the same apple id is used in the icloud settings.
Or you could go back to the pc and sync the 3gs one last time, then when setting up the 4s and it asks whether you want to set it up as a new phone or from a back up choose backup from itunes and then plug it in and select the 3gs backup from itunes to install -
Can i reset my phone or factory restore my phone and retrieve my data without a computer.
No, you need a computer. Or take the device to an Apple store.

When I upload photos to iPhoto from my iPhone and then press delete from iPhone it does not delete them, how do I fix this?
I am having the same problems as this person. I see that someone said there is no way to retrieve the pictures once it gets stuck in recovery mode.
Then further along someone said that there are data retrieval methods except they have something to do with jail breaking a phone.
My phone is already jail broken. It was kind of a gift from the company I work for- it was a fellow employees before. He jail broke it and then it was given to me. After I got it I activated the 4 and tried to back up everything. It didn't work and "Springboard" forced the phone into safety mode. So I could use it with the old dude's apps and my contacts. I made the mistake of using the phone for wedding dress shopping with a friend. I took tons of pictures.
After this I found out the messages I was seeing meant it was jail broken. At&t said to force restore the phone - iTunes wouldn't recognize it in safety mode. I'm an idiot and didn't realize what this meant for my pictures. It didn't work (error 1611) - thankfully. Now it is stuck in recovery mode (iTunes icon and USB cable picture).
Can I access that media in any way? It never suceeded restoring itself so is it still there? The phone is jail broken already so is there a method I can use? -
I have synced my photos from iPhone and iPad to my iMac and now I want to delete all from iPhone and iPad without deleting from iMac. thanks

You don't really sync photos from the devices to the Mac, you import them to an app; iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture. During that process you are given an option to erase the photos from the device. Is this not the manner that you used? -
How to restore SMS and iMessage from itunes backup?
Hi, I made a backup with itunes, and made a clean install of iOS 7.1.1. When I was going to recover all my data, iTunes told me that the backup was corrupt (and I only had that backup) Using iBackUp Bot and the information linked to iCloud, I was able to recover everything from that corrupted backup, except for my sms. But in the storage section of Configuration, I can see like 1gb of data in sms, although the Messages app is empty.
Any ideas or help about how import my sms back to the iphone?
Thanks!Same issue, previous device backed up to iCloud, then setting up new device, did the restore from icloud backup that I made last week, but camera roll is empty.
iCloud help says Camera roll is backed up. Checked iCloud backup, Camera roll is there.
Forums suggest restore from itunes, tried ... but again empty camera roll.
Clear all settings and data, as suggested in forums, bearing in mind its a new device, restore from back up, not USB but Wifi only, still empty camera roll.
Wiped it, tried restore again, still no Camera roll. Lot sof shared photostreams, but not my photos.
Download icloud PC app, only options for photos is Photostreams, no camera roll.
No way of accessing camera roll through itunes, or icloud app, or icloud.com
Is there really any point in iCloud backing up camera roll if it cant restore ?
Any suggestions, would be appreciated. -
It happens every time I make iTunes music purchases: entire playlists get wiped out, and all I can sync onto the iPhone 5 is what I just purchased, UNLESS, YET AGAIN, I completely restore it to factory and rewrite everything all over.
So sad, Apple.
Yes, I have looked thru the forum threads yet again, and found no other working solution.
Yes, I tried backing up the phone 1st but still get stuck with (expletive) I wanted off the phone, and stuff I wanted on there, ISN'T there.
For whatever (insert expletive of choice) reason, it will NOT sync my old playlists.
For whatever (expletive) reason, if I check "manually manage music" under the Summary tab, then go over the music tab, something (expletive of choice) up in the software decides to uncheck the "Manually manage music" box under the Summary tab, and it just creates a zero-progress loop where I can't sync the old playlists, or even new ones I create, onto the iphone.
Worse, songs I tried to take off of it long ago seem to manifest the (expletive) right back onto the iphone out of nowhere, and unless I completely restore, LIKE I'M DOING AGAIN, there is no working option I have found that removes the song(s) I THOUGHT I GOT RID OF.
PLEASE, Apple, is it asking too much to create a music sync that WORKS CORRECTLY all the time?
It is ONLY ever the music that does this.
App syncing, photo syncing, all of that functions properly each and every time.
And yet, oh look, it won't accept any playlists off my AUTHORIZED computer.
GIVE US THE SIMPLE option on the next iPhone update so we can manually remove/delete unwanted songs from playlists on the iphone, or from the iphone altogether, WITHOUT needing to connect it to a computer thru a faulty iTunes software that obviously consistently fails to properly sync the correct music on and take off what we don't want.
This is the final time I'm making the mistake of iTunes Store purchases until a sensible fix is implemented that addresses this fail sync issue.
Again, WHY is it ONLY and only ever the music syncing that (expletive of choice to get the point across) fails, yet apps and photos and mail & phone contacts sync correctly every time?
Yes, I read in the forum threads and customer support responses what needs to be checked and/or unchecked, yet all too often some software fail decides to revert those selections right back to where they were if I click another tab and come back to it (no, it's not an administrator thing, I am the only authorized user on the computers in question).
I'm tired of the hassle of having to redo my music library all over again, restore the phone, and hope that once more it will have the correct songs I told it to sync and NOT have a bunch of crap I never checked for it to have on there in the first place.
FIX THIS PLEASE.You're welcome.

Unable to download crash logs from iPhone 5 into MacBook Air 10.8.4
Hi All,
I' am new to mac world. Apologies if this is a very basic question.
I have an iPhone 5 and and I would like to download my app's crash reports into my MacBook Air 10.8.4 for further ivestigation.
What I did was:
1. Connect device
2. open iTunes and click sync (sync successful)
3. Now all my photos that I took using my iPhone are visible in Macbook's iPhotos (until this - very good)
Now,
4. Open up a Terminal app
5. put ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/ to download my iPhone app's crash logs, assuming they would all have synced, but unfortunately it doesn't look like it has even got CrashReporter/MobileDevice/ forlder created in my ~/Library/Logs/ directory.
Any help to download all the iPhone 5 app crash logs into my Macbook would be really very appreciated.
(Please also let me know if I need to change any setting in my iPhone that will allow me to download my crash logs from Diagnostics section into my Macbook)

Restore iPod touch 4g from iPhone 4 sync file
My brother bought an iPod Touch 4g. He wants his apps (and the app data) which are on my dad's iPhone ATM, on his new iPod.
Is it possible to restore a iPod Touch from an iPhone Sync?Yes. You can restore an iPOd from the backup of an iPhone as long as the iOS version on the iPod is at least as great as on the iPhone.

Restore new Ipod Touch from iPhone 4 backup...
I bought my son an iPod touch as he is constantly asking to play games on my iPhone 4. I want to transfer the games from my iPhone 4 to his iPod, including the save data. Is it possible for me to simply restore his new iPod from my latest iPhone backup? I can then delete any apps he would not be using, etc.

yes.
in fact, when you connect the Touch to iTunes for the 1st time, you should be asked if you want the back up of your iPhone to be restored to the Touch.
