You could create a new Apple ID during the initial setup or just here: https://appleid.apple.com. If you received a message saying that you have to enter a password, then it means that your uncle activated "Find My iPhone (activation lock) and would have to ask his password in order to get the phone working again.

You see a closed lens or black screen
If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping (camera swap icon). If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.

i downgrad my iphone from ios5 to ios 4.3.3 and after restoring the ios 4.3.3 i fixed all itunes error but after that my i phone screen turned off and the apple logo didnt shows up any more what ever i did my iphone model 4 gsm and fyi i try all the ways to turn it on but it didnt sucsses

I installed ios 7.0 beta 3 on my ipad 2 and now it is not restoring to ios 6.1.3. It is showing the error of (3194).. And i have tried copying hosts file and its still not working.. I need help!!

As far as I know, you will still not be able to downgrade the iOS now and the error code that you are receiving is often the result of trying to restore a jailbroken device. -
Trying to Restore Iphone, IOS 6.1.3 update Problems
I am trying to restore my ihpone. The latest software is updated to IOS 6.1.3, I tell itunes to restore my iphone. The restore function then tries to download the latest IOS 6.1.3, eventhough it has already been installed. Then while downloading IOS 6.1.3, although I don't need it, an error pops up and says it timed out.

Computer MacBook Pro.There is nothing that you can do now except to restore the device. The iPad will not work until you restore the iOS. Don't your students backup? I would assume that iPads being used in the classroom would be backed up on a regular basis. If they do backup, you can restore the iOS, then restore from the student backup and either sync his content back to the iPad if you are using iTunes, or download it again in the various purchased tabs of the iStores on the iPad.

Why does restoring an iOS device kill my home internet connection?
I never noticed this happening before iOS 5. Every time I restore an iOS device (iPhone 4, 4S and iPad 1), all goes well up until I click 'restore from backup', then iTunes starts chugging away like normal but my internet connection drops. I checked other devices in the house and they lose their internet connection as well. If I shut off the modem and router for two minutes, the internet connection comes right back.
This happens if I try the restore from a Win7 Dell desktop connected via ethernet and when I try it from a Compaq Win7 laptop via wifi.
I'm not sure if Comcast is throttling connections to iTunes or what. The iOS software downloads fine (800 MB in 11 minutes). Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal but I'm worried what kind of effect losing internet midway through a restore process might have on the device.I never noticed this happening before iOS 5. You'll have to update the 5C to 7.1.2 (Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch) as restoring a backup made on a more recent version of iOS is not supported. After updating, you can restore the backup as explained here: iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported, and likely has caused the problems you are experiencing.

This is pulling up the recently used apps bar. Most, if not all, of those apps are not running at all. This is just a list of the apps that you have used recently.
The very few apps that run in the backgound are managed by ios. -
What data is restored when you restore the iOS
I want to restore the iOS to my iphone and at the end of the process I want to restore my backed up data. I previously had an iPhone 3GS, 3G and 2G. In the past when I ever restored the iOS or got a new phone and restored my backed up data lots of stuff was missing so I'm trying to be cautious this time. Can you tell me if the following info is restored from your backed up data after an iOS restore.
Game data like game saves
text messages
Apps there were previously installed
App grouping if you put applications into sub folder groups
ring tones assigned to contacts
text tones assigned to contacts
If there is someplace that describes exactly what gets restored please let me know. I've gone through the user manual and searched but can't find anything. Specifically I recall losing all game data all grouped apps and all installed apps when I did a restore in the past.

I think the problem is that after an iOS restore the applications are not there so the data for the applications can't be restored.
So you go and pick all your applications and install them and during the install/sync it overwrites your backup with a new one.
Now that you have the apps back to restore the data the backup is gone

All you can do is get a newer model iPod. The 2G can only go as high as 4.2.1. Its hardare does not support a higher iOS version
