Restored ipod to use on a new pc. lost everything now i can`t get my itunes to load back onto pc
i was told to restore my ipod to add music to it on another pc, now i can`t get the itunes to load. I tried to reinstall itunes and it won`t let me. I have a empty ipod and no itunes can anyone help

Try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

On the printer: Setup > Network > Restore Defaults. From the same Network menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Went to update apps on ipod touch IOS 4.2.1. I did a factory reset and now I can't get most of my apps back & can't download version 5.0 which I need to get back some of my apps. I paid for some of these. I've tried my backup and it didn't put them back on.
If your iPod Touch is too old for iOS 5 or later... there is not much you can do.
When/if you get a later model iDevice you will be able to Download Past Purchases using the Original ID that made those Purchases. (providing they are still supported by the Developer)

I restored my phone to factory settings. I chose to restart it as a new phone to avoid the problem I was having. Now I ant get any of my contacts back. I cloud only has the contacts that weren't associated with Facebook (I had synced my contacts with Facebook prior to restarting my phone. Are the contacts on your phone to be the same as the contacts in your computer? if yes do following:
In iTunes/Preferences/Devices check the "Prevent iPods.... from syncing automatically".
Connect your iPhone to iTunes by cable or set sync by WiFi on the Summary page.
Then on the Info Page scroll down and check "contacts" under the "Advanced" heading.
Then click "sync" in the right bottom of the page. -
I need help retrieving my ITunes the way it was before my computer was restored and upgraded.
This is why it has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Certainly you did nhot restore your computer without making sure your backup copy was up to date.
Use your backup copy to put everything back. -

My Dad has a really old version of the iPhone. It was unlocked for use with Tmobile. Because of this, he has never updated or synced anything, for fear of losing his contacts. We just bought him a new laptop for father's day, and in my effort to sync his contacts to the computer our worst nightmare happened....we lost all of his contacts. I was updating the software and without me knowing it restored the system and erased everything. Now I can't open anything - only emergency calls. iTunes says the SMS card is not supported. I had backed up right before (but not sure if the contacts were backed up). Is there any way to get it back? If so, how?
Any help is much appreciated!Well, erasing everything is what a restore will do. You mention that the device was unlocked and then you say that updating it gives you the message the SIM (not SMS) is not supported. This is indicative of a device that was jailbroken or hacked to be unlocked, and your updating it has locked it back to the original carrier it is locked to.
If the device was backed up, you should have a backup to restore to, however if you have locked it back to the original carrier, the only way to activate the phone again is with one of their SIM cards, or ask them if you qualify to unlocked the device. Only the carrier the device was locked to can authorize an unlock.
If the phone was jailbroken, then you cannot get any further assistance per the forum rules. Good luck. -

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.

A friend took my ipod and put her own music on it..now I can't get it off!
So she took my ipod and put some of her own music on it on _her computer_, and when I plugged my iPod into _my own computer_, the music that she put on my iPod won't show up in my playlist. I tried syncing my iPod but that didn't work. What do I need to do to get that music off my iPod?

Please help! I have two separate email addresses -my old mobile me and the new icloud and now nothing is syncing with my iphone. I'm not sure how to get everything back to syncing the way it was before I changed everything over to icloud.
If you really did migrate from MobileMe to iCloud, you would have the same address as before.
It sounds as though you didn't actually migrate from MobileMe to iCloud, you just started up a brand new iCloud account.
You won't be able to access MobileMe now. If you failed to move everything over to iCloud properly, then all the data and the account has been deleted as Apple said it would at the end of July.
To get everything to sync, you need to make sure all your devices and computers are logged into the same iCloud account. Possibly what has happened is some are still using the old (now deleted) MobileMe account and some are using the new iCloud account.
