Restoring a backup! "Blackberry ID on device does not match"

hi,Im facing an issue and Im sorry if this topic has been discussed in before as I could not spot it out anywhere/could not find the right solution.I was facing an issue of "other data" to be filled up with 11 GB unnecesarily on my Z10,so i read some blogs and support forums which guided me to wipe my device and remove any unnecesary applications or sideloaded apps which i have never installed or used. (just fyi) As soon as i took my backup and did a security wipe  ,i tried to use the same blackberry id which I had been using previously all this while, but at first it said my password was wrong, all right i can agree that i must have forgotten my password which I mostly tend not to agree to;Why? because all my passwords are same related to this email id/blackberry ID of mine.Moving on,I reset my password using internet explorer and going to the link blackberry provided and thankfully I was over that. But another issue just rised,i could not see any of my data restored, such as app world apps,my contacts, bbm contacts or anything for that matter.Secondly, when i try to restore my backup file it says "the blackberry id on the device does not match" ;whereas the ID on my PC and my z10 is exactly the same.I need urgent help please,i would be really glad as my phone is as good as a nuked bb where I cannot do my daily business tasks or chat or do anything.Any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks

I have exactly the same stupid problem! it isso anoying, worst is this isnt even my device it is a clients backup in my shop!! is there no solutionto this??? Please blackberry we need some support here!

  • Trying to "Edge" up, and it tells me "This device does not match the device ID on your original Edge Agreement."

I'm on the Edge program with the iPhone 5s, and my original contract states that after half of the phone is paid off I can "edge" up. It's half paid off, but when I try to upgrade (to iPhone 6+), I get this message: "This device does not match the device ID on your original Edge Agreement. Please activate the original device". This is the original device. I've never had a replacement, and I originally purchased this phone (the 5s) and a verizon corporate store. Help?

        Kphilbrick9,
That's very strange to hear! I've seen similar error messages in the past when a device was replaced or swapped out for some reason. Has your iPhone 5s been replaced or swapped since you originally got it via an Edge Agreement?

  • So I decided to try and 'Edge up' since I was practically at the mark. Seemed to go fine until I select my new device, then I get 'This device does not match the device ID on your original Edge Agreement.'. Odd because I've never switched phones, and i'm

So only a few bucks left for the edge upgrade, decided to edge up since it gave me the option to do so, I figure why not?
Process seems to go fine until i'm in the checkout for a new device.
Tosses 'This device does not match the device ID on your original Edge Agreement. ' at me, but it's really strange because I'm using the phone I got direct from Verizon, haven't switched phones or anything.
Has anyone had this issue before?

    Toxicle,
I can understand how something like this can be concerning. Let's work to get to the bottom of this for you. What kind of phone were you Edging up from? Has the phone ever been replaced or removed temporarily? Just want to make sure we are getting all the facts to help with this issue.

Since upgrading to iOS8 iTunes no longer recognizes my iPhone5 when I connect to SYNC or BACKUP my iPhone5.  Thus, these features are no longer available.  When I click on the DEVICES tab, the window is dim, and will therefore not allow me to SYNC or BACKUP my iPhone5 on my iMac.  I use iTune 11.4 and iOS8.
    [email protected]

After the first install of iOS8 my iPhone5 locked up with a picture of a cord connected to a device linking to iTunes.  After taking my iPhone5 to the Apple Store, an Expert was able to get my phone operational again.  However, when I returned home I found I no longer had options in iTunes to SYNC or BACKUP my iPhone5.  I suspect that ITunes does not recognize my IPhone any longer.  For the past 1.5 years I have no problems updating or syncing my iPhone…it was only after I upgraded to iOS8 last week.

  • Blackberry ID linked device does not show up in Blackberry link

    Hello all,
I am using a blackberry 10 (software version 10.1) that is registered to my blackberry ID account. Now i want to exchange files through the wireless network between my blackberry and my computer. My computer is running Blackberry Link 1.1.1.32.
When i open Blackberry Link and sign in to my blackberry ID account i expected that the phone would be added to the list of connected devices. However it gives me a error message that the account has no blackberry devices connected to it.
When i connect the phone on the USB port i can exchange information. However i would prefer to exchange date through WiFi and the cellular network.
    This I have already tried:
I verified online that the mobile device is registered with that account.
    I reinstalled bb link
I tried to logout/login on blackberry link
I have wiped the mobile device
I have pushed the button refresh devices several times over 2 hours (in blackberry link)
    I have waited 4 hours.
My phone does show the laptop in the configuration screen 'blackbery link' connected devices. However i cannot choose the device in the file explorer to open it.
Does anyone have a clue what is happening here? It kinda looks like something is wrong with my blackberry ID.

I have factory reset the mobile.Created a new blackberry ID. Hooked up the new Blackberry ID with Link and the mobile and still Blackberry Link cannot find the Blackberry mobile when i click refresh devices in Link.
Where can I get some interactive support? The blackberry support website refers me to the telecom provider/vendor for support. However they plainly say "we dont know, contact blackberry".
Does anyone know who I contact blackberry and how (e-mail/phone) English support is ofc not an issue. The phone is purchaced from KPN the in Netherlands.

Trying to change ownership of my old iPod. The advice here is to go to "Devices">"Summary">"Restore", but I find "Devices" does not offer "Restore" but only "Sync", "Transfer", "Backup", and a greyed "Restore from backup."

What I don't understand is that your iTunes looks different from mine--just a little bit. You have 3 circles, red, yellow, and green, in the upper right end of the top bar. INstead I have a square that is half gray. When I click it, I get a menu very similar to the menu under "File."
The only place I see an entry for "Devices" is under "File," but it only gives the 4 options I mentioned before (see below). There is no "Summary."
Here's another screen shot after I added an album to music. Now all the choices under "Devices" are grayed.

I hate this bold 9700 series 2 no carrier and find it to be a pathetic product backed up by even more pathetic support so I have decided to use it as a torch. There is an app for this but it requires app world first. Are you trying to say that I MUST have a carrier and they will resolve this issue but otherwise RIM cannot do anything about their own product?
Hello and Welcome to the Forums!
We are so sorry that you are having so many difficulties. While many experience the same (a search here will reveal that fact), there are also many who have very positive experiences with their BB. Not every device is suitable for everyone -- which IMHO is why there are so many choices.
In addition, but for AppWorld, front line support for BB's is, by contract, not provided by RIM. The carriers and authorized resellers are responsible for front line formal support to end users. It is possible to bypass your carrier and seek assistance direct from RIM, but such involves fees since you are bypassing your support agreement with your carrier. The "Support and Services" tab toward the top of these forum pages provide information about that. But, if you do go through your carrier for support, they can escalate into RIM at no fee to you if they so choose to.
As to AppWorld Support (beyond what we volunteer to provide in these forums), that is available via this portal:
    https://www.blackberry.com/CSOHelp/index.do?ft=generic
If you choose to submit to them in this manner, then please use, in the "Please select a component:" field, the AppWorld Billing/Payment selection. Any other selection will simply route you back anonymously to these public forums.
As to your question, RIM and the carriers both participate in AppWorld. My suspicion is that the carriers get a portion of the costs for the apps that are vended via AppWorld -- but that's just my suspicion. Hence, the use of AppWorld indeed requires a carrier (and, indeed, the proper data plan level from them).
But, AppWorld is merely a portal, vending apps that are (for the most part) developed by others. As such, it is not the only portal in the world for BB apps. There are a few, I think, apps that are exclusively vended via AppWorld...but I think that number is rather small. Consequently, if you desire an app that will allow your BB to function as you desire, you should seek out alternative vending portals. There are plenty.
    Good luck!

  • Error "Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones"

I have a Curve 8300.  With OS v4.5.0.81.  And I am on a BB Social network plan through my cell providor "Fido".
I mainly use it for Facebook & Twitter  and have no problems using either app.  However I was prompted for an update for my twitter recently but wasn't near a wifi spot to update.  Just decided to update today at home where I do have wifi.  However when I go to do the update, it gives me the following error:
"Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones"
I have scoured for answers but haven't had much luck.  I tried checking for OS updates.  I apparently have the most current one that my phone will support.  I uninstalled twitter and then tried to reinstall it via the twitter Icon on my phone.  Got the same error.  Tried reinstalling it through app world, it installed just fine.  However it installed the version that I had previously had.  So I went to twitter's settings and checked for updates.  It prompted for one as I expected it would.  And when I tried to get the update.  It gave me that error again.  I can use twitter as it is, but I don't see why my phone shouldn't be able to get all the updates for various apps.  Is it a software compatability issue?  Is it a hardware compatability issue?  Is there anything I can do to get the update or do I just have a phone that won't take some app updates?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
The 8300 is not listed in the device upgrade table for Blackberry device OS v5.0. The newer versions of apps like Twitter and Facebook require device OS v5.0 to run correctly. Might be time to consider a new device!

Well, first off, you are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user PUBLIC forum. You should not post your personal information like that. Try closing iTunes, reboot the computer and connect again. Are you using the latest version of iTunes, v11.1?

  • Your Device does not meet System requirements that are needed to support BB App World

    Hello,
My last Torch died with a JVM. Just got it replaced today and I want to get my Downloaded apps back. After I have restored the device from BlackBerry Desktop, none of my downloaded apps are there. I have a brand new 9860 , running Bundle 7.1.  I launch App World. It tells me to upgrade. When I follow  the screen upgrades, I reach an error message : Notice: Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BB App World. I have a brand new phone so first question...can I upgrade App World over Wi-FI. or do I have to get a Data Plan from my Telco first ? I have been running my old phone fine with no Data plan but enjoying BBM and Cell use. Not happy.

  • HT1535 The music I have in my i touch does not match or sync with music on my Mac.  What is the best way for me to sync both devices without losing any music?

The muisc I have in my i-Touch does not match up with the music list in my Mac, therefore have issues syncing.  Is there anyway to keep all those songs without losing some of it?

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):
    - Senuti - http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/

Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141 - dates from 2008 and some outdated information now.
Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/copying-music-from-ipod-to-co mputer/ - Information about use in disk mode pertains only to older model iPods.

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Hi, I’ve just got a blackberry which is my first. I am new to this. I'm trying to download the App World on my phone because I would like to get some applications on my phone. As I try to download the App World it says "Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Blackberry App World." I have tried to download this on my computer Via Cable and on my Blackberry Via the Browser. If this doesn’t work for my blackberry is there any way around this so I can download applications from somewhere else.
