Restoring a broken-screen iPhone 6

My iPhone 6's screen is cracked and unusable. I'm trying to restore it but it says I must turn off Find My iPhone first. Problem is I had removed my phone from Find My iPhone. What can I possibly do? Thanks for your help!

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

Contact Apple support at the appropriate number from: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and ask about possible screen replacement being offered in the UK for the iPhone 5...in the US that is only done on the iPhone 5, and not at all Apple stores at this time.  Only certain ones are doing so.
If that is not an option, an out-of-warranty replacement for the iPhone 5 is $229 in the US, convert to Pounds Sterling.

How much charge iPhone 5 broken screen replace

Apple reportedly now will replace the screen in an iPhone 5 for US $149. Availabllity of repair services may vary by country, and I'm not sure if other models of iPhone also can be repaired, so call Apple Support or visit an Apple Store and ask for information. For other problems Apple at this time does not at this time repair iPhones, but will replace the entire iPhone for a flat fee. If you have AppleCare+ coverage, the cost will low; in the US it's $49. If you do not have AppleCare+ on your iPhone, see the Service Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/service/faq/
There are independent iPhone repair services that may be able to do the repair for less than Apple's out-of-warranty charge. Do a web search for "iPhone repair". Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPhone serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further warranty and support from Apple will be voided.

  • Broken screen iphone 5

Broke the screen on my iphone 5, he is under warranty, how to do?

Contact 800MYAPPLE providing you have the APP + warranty and within the date eligibility of the warranty you will be able to have the device replaced for 79.00 co-pay. Apple is able to express ship the device to you without additional cost. When setting up the express shipment Apple will ask you to provide them with a credit card to use for return fee to be added to the account to hold the cost of the retail vaule of the device until such time you send the broken/defective device back to apple.
    Good luck.

  • Broken screen iPhone 5c

I just bought my phone, less than a week, it fell on the ground and screen shattered, can I have the screen replaced by Apple?

It's $269 USD but if you carry it into a local Apple Store they may be able to repair just the screen for less (if you're lucky)

  • My iPhone 5c has a broken screen and won't let me swipe. I got a new iPhone 5c, but want my stuff to backup to it. I haven't backed my old one up in over a year because the storage is full. How would I back it up to iCloud on a Dell or Toshiba computer?

My iPhone 5c has a broken screen and won't let me swipe. I got a new iPhone 5c, but want my stuff to back up onto it. I haven't backed up my old one in over a year because there's not enough storage. How would I back up on iCloud to a Dell or Toshiba computer?

    Hi Linda Loo Loo,
If you have backed up previously to iTunes on a specific computer, even if it has been a while, you may be able to still backup even if you are unable enter the passcode on your iPhone due to a damaged screen. You may find the following article helpful:
If you have previously synced your device with iTunes, you may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device:
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.
When the backup and sync is complete, restore your device.
When iOS Setup Assistant asks to set up your device, choose "Restore from iTunes backup".
Select your device in iTunes and choose the most recent backup of your device.

  • My iPhone 4 has broken screen, how can I reset it with iTunes

My iPhone 4 has a broken screen. The lock button sometimes works. I need to reset it, can I do this with iTunes. Also, how can you get onto the screen that shows you what phone is connected

You can reset the device through settings > general > reset > reset all settings.
You can restore the software of the device through iTunes.
Depending on your computer operationg system ( Mac or Windows) you will need to find the menu bar ( File, Edit, View...etc) and click View > Show Sidebar.

  • Backup and sync iPhone with broken screen

I recently dropped my iPhone 5s and broke the display.  The phone itself is fine; I can still hear it receive text messages and emails but the screen iself is blacked out.  I am assuming that it is a hardware problem.  Anyway, my friend tried to reset by pressing the home and power button.  Now, whenever I plug the phone into a charger or my computer, the phone emits an incessant beeping noise every 5 seconds.  What is this noise?  And also, I can no longer use features on my phone like Siri and such after my friend tried to reset the phone.  Is my phone broken?  I cannot really tell if this is a problem that can be fixed with a new screen or if there is something worse wrong with my phone.
Additionally, I have tried to backup my phone by connecting to my computer but it doesn't allow a backup to take place because it needs a passcode to be entered on the phone itself which, of course, is impossible since my display is broken.  However, I was able to synchronize my phone to my computer.  My question is that, if I get a completely new phone, can I restore to a previous backup and then synchronize to the most recent synchronization?  Also, if you have any knowledge on the other questions, I would greatly appreciate some information.  Thanks!

    Hello,
I apologise if this is a really stupid question.
I last backed up my phone a few weeks ago, carried on taking pictures with it etc, and then dropped it, breaking the screen which turned black with a single white line down the middle.
I can receive calls by guessing where to swipe so it is sort of working.
A new iPhone is in the post, but I can't back this phone up because I get the following message when I try:
"iTunes could not back up the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be backed up."
I have been searching the web, but can't find a way to unlock the phone.
So (unless anyone has a genius idea, in which case I will love them forever), what will I lose if I don't sync?
I don't think I should lose the photos I took since my last sync, since Photostream should take care of that, no?
    Many thanks, C
There is no way for you to backup with a broken screen.
You will lose whatever wasn't backup.

  • Need to restore iphone5 but screen broke and find my iphone app active but no device registered

My iphone5 screen recently stopped working (1 year and 3 wks after warranty expired!) and kinda froze so the screen sensor is disabled and is not swiping. Cant answers calls or access anything othe rthan commands via Siri and bluetooth incar/ headphones to play music and make calls.... My network provider advised me to back up and completely restore.  When trying to restore via itunes it asks me to deactivate find my iphone app in settings.  Trouble is i cannot access this due to broken screen/sensor... my phone has its passlock on also so siri will not open settings unless i touchscreen in my pin.
using my sons phone i tried to locate my phone using the app  find my iphone but it said i was 'offline'  i accidently ended up removing the device from my account (happy clicking) and now icloud.com states no device registered. Grrrrrrrr  and now i can only register device by changing settings on the phone itself.
I cannot access my phone to change setting so cannot restore. how can i restore factory settings? or even completely deactivate/remove find my phone app.. I tried to delete it from itunes but it still shows im still active but with no device registerd.  i am not sure if its something to do with icloud settings? im not that clued up with iphones despite being an apple customer for  5 years!
can anyone suggest an alternative to restore the phone (in hope the screen will work) though i have read other posts and i dont have the random screen freeze... which is related to ios 7 upgrade... but it is permanent.  I reckon I will need Apple to fix the sensory mechanisms inside
please help as i am having to use a really rubbish smart phone...

Thanks diesel vdub for your suggestion.... :-) I managed dfu mode which allowed me to reset to factory settings though the screen was still broke. Think I need replacement screen/sensor. No doubt cost me a small foutune to fix!
Cheers anyway. I hope it works for others with similar problem.

  • Cannot back up iPhone with broken screen (asking for password).

So I have pretty much destroyed my phone in a biking accident.  It somewhat functions, but the screen is so badly damaged that I cannot operate it.  It destroyed the frame enough that it cannot read my sim card for what it's worth.  Anyway, I wanted to perform a last backup before I got rid of this thing and it is asking to put in my password on iTunes.  The problem is that I cannot type it in cause my screen is so far gone.  Any options for me?
Also, is there a way to wipe it clean without using the screen?

Same thing happened to me: broken screen on iPhone 5; iTunes prompted me to unlock phone when attempting to do a tethered backup & sync; same computer I always did backups/syncs on and didn't need to unlock phone before screen was broken. My solution, because the phone looked otherwise fine (doesn't sound like yours is though) was to remove my girlfriend's iPhone 5's screen and temporarily replace my broken screen with hers (followed iFixit tutorials).  Everything worked (good thing, otherwise I promised I would buy her a new phone) and sync w/ backup started without me having to unlock the phone, then I put the screen back on the original device and now I'm waiting for my iPhone 6 to come 9/19 and I'll restore from backup. So the broken screen was obviously the thing that triggered iTunes to not allow a backup without unlocking. Another sign something was wrong before I swapped screens was when I connected the broken phone to the charger:  I got a repeating charging-bong sound going off at about a three second interval between bongs.
