Restoring and then re installing maverick problem?

I am erasing my macbook air to factory settings. I erased the Macintosh HD disk and am trying to re install os x maverick. the problem is it says in order to do this i need to use an apple id that has purchased os x maverick in the past. This is my first macbook and i got it from a friend and now do not know what to do.

You need to download it through your own Apple ID. If you can't do it on your erased Mac, take a USB stick to a friend's place or an Apple Store and download it from there using your own Apple ID and then reinstall.

Now all I get is a black screen which says I need to reboot. Power+D gives me a hardware error message: 4 MOT/1/40000003: HDD-1336 or HDD-1327. When I reboot from the OSX CD and start disc utilities everything checks out OK. When I reload 10.5.2 from the OSX CD everything seems to work OK and no more permissions problems. But then I loose all my email and safari stuff. Anyone have any ideas short of going back to my old PC?

No unfortunatley it's too old, you are referring to Target Display Mode which became avialble in 2009, your 2008 needs to have the HD replaced. I'd still do that if everything else is OK or you can simply buy a new MM and display or even a new iMac or an Apple refurbished iMac to save money.

I updated to Yosemite on my Mac. Firefox then began to freeze. I uninstalled Firefox and then downloaded/installed it again. How do I recover bookmarks, etc?

How do I recover bookmarks, passwords, etc? I don't believe I previously had a username & password for Mozilla. I do have my Mac backed up in Time machine and also a Carbon Copy Clone.
Also, I was able to migrate setting from Safari. Perhaps I don't want some of that stuff? Looking at the list of installed plugins, I have no clue if they're standard Apple/Mozilla stuff, or if they were selected by me/my family earlier in Safari? Are any of them a threat to my online security?
Any detailed instruction would be most appreciated. I'm not much of a tech guy.

Do a backup before doing anything.
If you want to make a clean install of Mountain Lion, boot into the Recovery Volume (command - R) on a restart, use Disk Utility to Verify/Repair the disk and run Repair Permissions. Then erase the hard drive using Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format using the Options button. Reinstall Yosemite. Restart normally and test. Use Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant to import what you want.

How do I uninstall Bridge and then re-install it?

Though it is possible to completely eradicate all of Java's components, it is unnecessary and you would be better off ensuring you have applied Apple's recent updates.
Uninstalling it is possible, but tedious, and it can be effectively disabled. Read the link under "More Like This" to the right, in particular the one in upper case "UNINSTALL JAVA".

Thanks for your promt response.
Let me explain you what I did.
1) I have booked a Bill Only sales order which has one order line, mentioned it as Service Item and provided the same details in Service Tab in Order lines. Now Line status is "Fulfilled"
2) Then Submitted Workflow Back Ground Process for OM Order Lines and it has created an AR Invoice and closed the line
3) And then submitted "Service Contracts Order Capture Integration Program" from SErvice Contracts Responsibility and it completed normal.
4) Now I went in to Launch Contracts Window and queried with the sales order but couldn't see any contract created
5) Then I went in to Reprocess Order Window and found this order shows an error message as "Referenced Product not present in the Installed Base", then I tried to reprocessed it, but the same error message again.
Here I have few doubts:
1) Are the AR invoice and Service Contract Billing Invoices same?
2) In above scenario AR Invoice has been created, I would like to do the billing from SErvice Contracts and need to create an Invoice in AR? how can I do that?
because as you explained in one of my questions earlier, A Single Invoice can be created for the whole duration of the contract. I want to do that and trying for the same.
3) Regarding the above error message, how can I resolve it and create the service contract against that Order?
