Restoring applications on iPhone
How I can restore applications I think are present on the iPhone backups back on my iPhone?
A sync with iTunes has removed all the application on my iPhone, leaving only some apps.
Note: I'm using TimeMachine, this can help?

All apps should be available in your iTunes library on your Mac. When downloading/installing apps with your iPhone, the apps should be transferred to your iTunes library when syncing your iPhone after doing so.
Are these apps available in your iTunes library? Select Applications in your iTunes source list to confirm.
What is your selection under the Applications tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
Apps are not included with your iPhone's backup that is created and maintained by iTunes when syncing. 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by an app is included with your iPhone's backup.

I did a restore on my iphone, but now when I connect it to my computer, it does not sync like it did before. It defaults to "Set Up Your iPhone", so I am not able to load my apps or music/podcasts that were there before. Any suggestion?
I figured this out. I picked format as a new phone and it restored everything.

Cannot transfer purchased applications to iphone
hello all
I've problem with itunes sync.
here is what I'm trying to do:
purchasing application from itunes store.(anything free)
It downloads it to applications folder.
I click to myiphone, opening applications tab. choising sync all applications and clicking to sync.
there is no any error, it backing up phone and syncing. but there is no any new application in iphone.
why it's not transfering the application i've purchased?
ps. never could sync application from itunes, using iphone since 7-8months. always purchased from applestore of iphone.

As a last resort you could try restoring the iPhone to defaults and configuring it as a new iPhone (don't restore from backup). -
I did a restore from my iPhone 4S to my iPhone 5 and now my music won't play. What do I do?
Why won't my music play? I did a restore from my iPhone 4S to my new iPhone 5. The songs all show up on my phone but then do a quick spin, never start, and won't play. Aarrgh... Frustrated!
Could you have backed up to iCloud? If so, you can retrieve your camera roll contents.

I am trying to restore my daughters iPhone because she forgot her passcode. I'm stuck because iTunes is telling me to turn off Find my iPhone in iCloud settings but I can't do that because the phone is locked. HELP!
iCloud: Remove your device from Find My iPhone - Support - Apple

IPAD restores applications but not data or files associated with applications
1) Today Itunes prompted me to update the OS on the IPAD.
2) It warned me to back up IPAD before I did. I did
3) I updated software.
4) It returned with an error saying it could not install software and I must restore to facotry settings
5) I resotored to factory settings
6) After that I attempted to restore contents of my IPAD from Itunes on my Windows 7 machine.
7) It restored only music but no applications and no other information
8) I spent all day on the phone with Apple Support who managed to get the applications restored by going through one by one and syncing.
9) It took a few hours
10) After I finished I noticed that files/documents associated with various applications like Kindle, Goodreader, Penultimate Notes were missing on the IPAD.
11) I have made a few phone calls to Apple and thy claim the following: "Apple is not responsible for restoring files or data associated with any applications, only the application itself. It is your responsibility to contact the application developer to get your files restored." This sounds patently absurd to me. I spent half an hour explaining the absurdity of this claim to the Apple representatives but they are firm and non-wavering in this opinion. One even claimed that restoring does not restore applications which of course is not correct.
12) I gave them the example of MS Word on MacBook Pro. If I save/back up on another machine and then restore back to the original machine I would expect to be able to see the Word files I had created and saved. That in particular the failure to view them would not be Microsoft's responsibility but Apple's. They disagreed saying it would be between me and Microsoft and the Apple devices had nothign to do with saving or successful restoring.
13) So I have lost all e-books purchased on Kindle, plus all documents saved on Goodreader application, notebooks on Penultimate applications, and my children’s drawings on their drawing applications. Apple Support say I should contact each application vendor to try and recover the missing data. They refuse to tell me how to get it from ITUNES backup stored on my Windows 7 machine as they say it will not be there.

quoting case number 319718819.Did you try restoring from a backup of the iPad? If you have a backup with all of your app data and files, that should restore all of that content to the device.
No - restoring does not restore applications. You have to either sync the applications back from iTunes on your computer, or you can download them again, BUT ... All of your data, files and device settings are stored in your backup. Do you have a backup in iTunes .... Edit>Preferences>Devices - that should show you all of your iDevice backups. -

Sounds like a 'stuck' Shift key. You could try to take the key off and put it back on yourself (should be some info on that from ifixit) or just take it to your local Apple Store and have them fix it.

Looks like you restored your backup file to her phone. If you didn't back up your wife's phone first, then the data is gone, sorry.

If I restored my new iPhone from iCloud backup, and I delete the old iPhone backup to make room on iCloud to back up my new phone, will it delete everything on the new phone?
I have this exact same issue. Replaced my iPhone 4s with the new iPhone 5s, setting up my new iPhone 5s to restore from iCloud. This completed and now I am unable to delete my old iPhone 4s iCloud backup (consuming 15.1 GB of my 20GB allocation). How can I delete it, so that I get my 15 GB back? I am not going to invest in additional iCloud storage, because I will be 15 GB down from the off.

If i restore my new iphone from my last backup will it delete all of the new content that I currently have on my phone? would it be better off to set it up as a new iphone? and if i set it up as a new iphone what will that do?
If you restore from your last backup, it will replace what you now have on your phone. If you set it up as new, you will have a phone just out of the box without any of your data on it. You can download any apps again. You can sync your music through iTunes.

I recently got the new iPhone 5c I used icloud to back everything up from my 4s to my new 5c. Now, I keep getting a pop up that says Continue Restoring? (This iPhone has not been backed uprecently because it has not finished being restored. Would you like to finish downloading any remaining purchases and media before backing up, or delete them along with any app date?)
I seleted to finish downloading because I didn't want to lose anything. It still will not finish downloading and I have tried this several times.

This message is displayed if your iOS device has been trying to complete a restore for more than three days. This can occur if your restore has been interrupted due to network connectivity issues or some other problem occurs.

How do I restore an iCloud backup if my device is already set up for use?

How do i find a recent backup from on icloud. i don't want to restore on my iphone, just view on my Pc and keep as file. looking for pics and video i recorded thanks
The password is set on the WiFi router providing the service, by the owner of the network to prevent unwanted "guests" accessing the network. The only way to know it is to ask the owner permission to use the network. Otherwise, you have to find a free WiFi hotspot that doesn't require a password.

You can create an Apple ID without a credit card by following this guide exactly: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534. Note that you have to start by downloading a free app, then create the ID.
