Restoring Backup to new IPAD did not transfer content of Clash of Clans App

My son's ipad had a screen issue so upon contacting Apple support they kindly booked me into the local store for a consultation, fortunately the device was under warranty, whilst on the phone I asked specifically about backing up content for 2 specific games that my son has spent alot of time on, Clash of Clans and Minecraft.  The advisor took me through the process of backing up the device to the itunes store.  I repeated the same process on the morning of the appointment and then went into store as expected the device had to be replaced.  We restored the backup to the IPAD whilst in store, unfortunately the Clash of Clans content does not seem to have restored, but the minecraft one has.  I asked the Apple engineer why this was and he just said it must have something to do with the App.  Is their any way I can restore the game to where he was?, frustratingly in the game under the clan you can see his base? Help I have a very distraught son.

The backup will only work for the same device, not for a new (and better) device.
Contacts are at http://contacts.live.com where you sign in with your Microsoft account. Once you set up the same Microsoft account as you used on your 800 contacts and calendar will sync right back and you will also get access to documents stored on SkyDrive for that account. If you had any other AES compatible account set up previously and had contacts synced there they should also come tight back to the 925 once you set up the account.
Text messages will be lost however, WP7.x has no backup facilities like WP8.x has.

  • Notification settings on iPad 3 are set properly but my new IPad does not get alert badges or rounds on apps with all notifications selected and in notifications center.  Why?  Others are reporting same problem.

i just bought the new iPad and even though notifications are set exactly the same for mail and my app is turned on and in the Notifications Center and alerts and sounds selected for mail and apps only my iPad 2 is working.  No alerts on iPad 3.  I see other posts with same problem.  Any suggestions or posts re same problem will be appreciated before I return to Apple Store for help.  thanks.

Do you have system sounds muted?  Check the button above your volume control on the right hand side of the iPad.  If, when you change the button you see mute on your screen, you'll restore system sounds.  If you see lock orientation, you can restore system sounds by double tapping your home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps).  With your finger swipe those apps all the way to the right to reveal a mute icon on the left.  Touch that icon and you'll restore system sounds.
Let us know if that was the issue.

I Re cry bought an iPad Air 2 and the pictures from my original iPad air did not transfer. How do I get the pictures to transfer?

Restore the backup of the old iPad to the new one.   That should transfer camera roll photos.  If it didn't and you still have the old iPad, back it up to your computer using iTunes and restore that backup to the new iPad.

  • I got a new PC; when trying to sync my iPad I downloaded iTunes onto the PC; got a message that my iPad did not have the newest version of iTunes, would I like to update my iPad; I clicked yes then; since then my iPad is stuck in restore and may lose all

Tried to sync iPad to new PC; got message that iPad did not have most current iTunes and would I like to update; selected update; got an error message saying a file was corrupt; iPad stuck in restore mode; no pictures transferred to PC; Apple Store Tech said only solution is to restore factory settings to my iPad but this will cause me to lose hundreds of precious and irreplaceable photos and videos; HELP?

You should be able to accept this message, it will cause existing music, photos (not camera roll) and videos (also excluding those in camera roll) to be removed and replaced with those from this computer. All other user data on the iPad will be unaffected.

When I synced my iPad with my laptop, it did not transfer three videos I recorded on my Sony Cybershot camera. Why didn't it do this?

I responded to your first post and assumed that you didn't have a computer. If I was wrong, I apologize for misreading your question.
Did you totally erase the device and not restore from a backup? If you totally erased the device and set up as new, the passcode should not be on the device.

  • There were some updates on my Apps.  I updated them on my iTunes but my iPad did not get the same downloads/updates thru iCloud.  Does the iCloud only works for "New" Apps or Books downloaded from the store but not the "Updates"?

Purchased music does not count against your iCloud storage and you cannot get rid of them in the purchased tab.
    What is backed up
You get unlimited free storage for:
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books
Notes: Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backups of purchased movies and TV shows are U.S. only. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. These movies will indicate that they are not available in iTunes in the Cloud on their product details page in the iTunes Store. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.

  • HT204053 I recently changed ny Apple ID but it did not transfer over to my iCloud account. How do I change my iCloud ID? The login popup for iCloud will not go away so I cannot get into my iPad since it pops up as soon as I turn the device on.

I recently changed my Apple ID but it did not transfer over to my iCloud account. How do I change my iCloud ID? The password for the new Apple ID does not work since the iCloud default user name is imbedded in the login box. The login popup for iCloud will not go away so I cannot get into my iPad since it pops up as soon as I turn the device on and re-occurs every few seconds.

You have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPad on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPad when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How to restore a particular backup to new ipad?

My problem is that I had to have my ipad air replaced by Apple as my original ipad air developed a fault. I had backed up my original ipad to my W7 PC thru itunes before I got the new one.
Unfortunately my new ipad's name was set to be exactly the same as the original.
When I connected my new ipad to itunes, I tried to restore all the apps etc from my original ipad to my new one.
Somehow Itunes (or me) confused the ipad names and when I reid a restore backup from a computer, it didn't work. To cut a long story short, I can see the backup I want to retore in my Windows backup directory (file name is 0b68edc697a550c9b977b77cd012fa9a0557dfcb).
Can I use this file to restore to my new ipad and restore all the books, music, movies etc that were on the original ipad?

Are you saying that you contacted Apple support and they instructed you to backup and restore your iPad? Or do you mean that you picked up this information from an online support article? If you spoke to an Apple rep or received these instructions via email, contact them again for further help.
I fail to see how restoring your iPad would enable yoyr Apple ID.

  • I purchased a new MacBook Pro and when transferring files iphoto did not transfer.  I have a question mark in the place of the icon.  My pictures are in library but can't properly access iphoto.  Thank you

I purchased a new MacBook Pro and when transferring files iphoto did not transfer.  I have a question mark in the place of the icon.  My pictures are in library but can't properly access iphoto.  Thank you

Sure-glad to help you. You will not lose any data by changing synching to MacBook Pro from imac. You have set up Time Machine, right? that's how you'd do your backup, so I was told, and how I do my backup on my mac.  You should be able to set a password for it. Save it.  Your stuff should be saved there. So if you want to make your MacBook Pro your primary computer,  I suppose,  back up your stuff with Time machine, turn off Time machine on the iMac, turn it on on the new MacBook Pro, select the hard drive in your Time Capsule, enter your password, and do a backup from there. It might work, and it might take a while, but it should go. As for clogging the hard drive, I can't say. Depends how much stuff you have, and the hard drive's capacity.  As for moving syncing from your iMac to your macbook pro, should be the same. Your phone uses iTunes to sync and so that data should be in the cloud. You can move your iTunes Library to your new Macbook pro
you should be able to sync your phone on your new MacBook Pro. Don't know if you can move the older backups yet-maybe try someone else, anyways,
This handy article from Apple explains how
How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support''
don't forget to de-authorize your iMac if you don't want to play purchased stuff there
and re-authorize your new macBook Pro
time machine is an application, and should be found in the Applications folder. it is built in to OS X, so there is nothing else to buy. double click on it, get it going, choose the Hard drive in your Time capsule/Airport as your backup Time Machine  and go for it.  You should see a circle with an arrow on the top right hand of your screen (the Desktop), next to the bluetooth icon, and just after the wifi and eject key (looks sorta like a clock face). This will do automatic backups  of your stuff.
