Hey cosmoasif,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
Follow the steps below to migrate the data over:
Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone to the computer using the USB cable.
At the bottom of the BlackBerry Link screen, press the up arrow to the right of the name of the new BlackBerry smartphone.
Select Restore > Restore from backup file > Legacy Device Backup Files.
Select the desired backup file.
Place a checkmark next to the data to restore to the BlackBerry 10 smartphone. To restore all supported data, place a checkmark next to Restore all data.
Note: For a description of the BlackBerry smartphone databases, refer to KB03974.
Press Restore.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers.

  • Restoring data from Z10 to Q10

    Hi,
I was just forced to buy a Q10 as my Z10 got bricked and is unusable. SInce i bought it from Indonesia i have to wait till i go back there to get it fixed.
Anyway, i was shocked to find out that i cannot restore my Z10 data to my new Q10. The below message appears when i try to restore it.
    "Incompatible device software
The backup file is not compatible with the version of the device software that you are currently running. Update your device software and try again"
I tried looking for an update on my Q10 but couldnt, i cannot switch devices as my Z10 does not turn on. I do not remember what version was my Z10 using before it crashed.
The message does nto come up for earlier backups for my Z10 but when i try to restore those it stops at 664kb and does nto continue.
Please let me know how am i able to access sms and contacts on my Z10 backup.
    Your urgent assistsance greatly appreciated

OK, you're still leaving out the details I need on the Z10...
HOW were you updating or loading the OS to the Z10? From the over the air upgrade process, through Link?
Have you tried using an autoloader file on the Z10?

  • Is there any RIM rep. in here? Did they notice what's happening? I can't move data from Z10 to Q10

Is there any of RIM representative here???
I know this is a common issue, I see many members from forums, here, crackberry, and many others experiencing problems with BlackBerry Link.
    1. I can't switch device from Z10 to Q10, 1st it says my Q10 has old software, I have updated to the latest, now it says please make sure my device is connected and retry, I press retry and always failed to detect (for restore data from Z10 backup to Q10) other than that, it can detect my Q10.
    2. To restore data from backup you have to sign in to BlackBerry ID first and it makes your BBM contact transferred without the others, contact, SMS, calendar, notes, alarms, settings, etc. I'm thinking of moving back to Z10 and afterwards all my open chats in Z10 just disappear, I still have importants chat containing appointments, addresses, price negotiation, hotel reservations, argh this is frustrating because every time I wanted to restore to new device it will ask to sign in again, and how is it going to decide which is my valid PIN on the other side of my BBM's contact if I keep switching device like this back and forth..
Why can't it be like the old days of OS 4, 5, 6, 7 and 7.1?
Where we can make full or partial backups and restore it to any device and any OS?
Didn't you make a proper test and research before releasing OS10 and BlackBerry Link on the market? (This question goes to RIM's rep. where ever you are)
If you wanna make all of your customers run away because your and software have issues, you've made it
This is my last bad experience with BlackBerry prior to OS10
Laughable poor camera on 9900 I can't take photos of receipts and documents, and I have to charge 3 times a day (this is supposed to be a "mobile" phones? I always ended up with dead battery when I'm mobile, and I have to stuck on charger for hours waiting to charge)
And now this .... Come on RIM do something please we really like your device...
Devices I like the most are 9700 and 9780, except for desktop manager that is not backing up auto text. Great camera, great battery life.
Btw I have use the latest release of Link but still can't restore data.
    Solved!

Because BB10 was not an evolution from BBOS...it is completely new, and sadly they did not take all of the prior design considerations and use them when they created BB10 and it's associated toolsets.

That functionality, while requested by many, has not been implemented. There is no way for anyone here to know if/when it will ever be so.

  • How can I restore data from my iCloud account on a new iPhone 5c with a previous SW version that my old (stolen) iPhone 5?

    Hello everybody,
I need help to restore data from my iCloud account on an unused iPhone 5c because my iPhone 5 with a newer iOS update was stolen. When I try I get a message that I cannot retore my data because the iOS on my iPhone 5c is an older version than on the stolen iPhone 5.
There must be a way to do this. I hope to hear from you
    thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You cannot. However, you can solve this problem by setting the iPhone as a new device and upgrading iOS in Settings -> Software Update.
After upgrading iOS, open Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings. Finally, Setup Assistant will let you restore the backup.

  • How do I restore data from icloud to iphone

how can i restore data from icloud to iphone

You mean an iCloud backup?  If so, first make sure your phone is running the same or higher version of iOS as the device that backed up was running.  If it isn't, you'll have to update it first in order to restore the backup.
Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

  • How can I restore data from iCloud

My iPad locked up last night and I had to restore to factory settings to make it operable.  During the process it asked me if I wanted to restore my data and it told me that the latest and only backup was from a few minutes before that time which was AFTER all my stuff got wiped out.  I was able to resync some apps and all my music from iTunes, but I lost a ton of pictures and other files that I thought were SUPPOSED to be safe on iCloud.
So I start reading about restoring data from iCloud and apparently Apple only does this on a NEW device.  What a load of crap!
Does anyone have any idea how I can get my data from the stupid iCloud to my stupid iPad?

The "Apple data" such as contacts, calendars, notes, etc. are not backed up to an iCloud backup, since they reside in the special databases on iCloud.  If you delete some data from a device (e.g. one contact), it is deleted from that device, from iCloud's database and thus from all other devices connected to that iCloud account.
Hence performing a restore from an iCloud backup will not help.
However, if that data was ever on a computer (assuming the computer also synced data from iCloud) and if you consistently perform backups using something like Time Machine on a mac or any number of backup programs on Windows, then you should be able to restore the data from that backup.  For example, on a mac, invoke the contacts app then choose Enter Time Machine from the Time Machine icon on the main toolbar.  That will allow you to go back in time and choose an older backup to restore.
If you have an iTunes backup on the computer, I'm not really sure that also includes the Apple data stored on iCloud.  It should have the local data.  For example, Contacts can be under "iCloud" or "On My Mac" (or whatever computer you use).  An iTunes restore should restore the data on your computer.
The whole idea regarding an iCloud backup is that if your device ever fails and must be replaced or reset, the backup will restore all the data as it was at the time of the last backup.   The restore will return all the device's settings such as iCloud login, on/off states of data to connect to (like contacts).  Once that's done, the device will connect to iCloud and download the current data.
    IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream.  If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered.  I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure".

  • HT201250 Circle and cross through iTunes icon afte the seagate hard drive replaced and restored data from time machine backup.

Circle and cross through iTunes icon: had the seagate hard drive replaced and restored data from time machine backup. Why does the iTunes icon have a circle and cross through it? As though incomplete? tried everything and still Circle and cross through iTunes icon.

No it isn't something you'd find on the computer, it has to be custom installed from the 10.6 installer disc or Software Update if it wasn't before.  It allows you to use older PowerPC applications on your Mac.   On the other hand double check the version of iTunes you have does not require 10.7 minimum either.

how do I restore data from an external hard drive back to a restored mac?

    Hello, Esmin77.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I see you want to restore your MacBook Pro from an external drive.  Here is an article that may help you with this process if you used Time Machine to backup these files.

  • Time machine restore data from an earlier OS

I have Macbook Air that is now configured with Mountain Lion. I am trying to restore data from a time machine backup taken from the same machine when it was running Snow Leopard, prior to a complete factory reinstall. I choose the files that I want to restore and then restore them. It looks like the files are restoring, but upon completion I cannot find the restored files. I have selected the "Replace" and "Keep Both" options. The kicker is that the SSD on the MBA is showing the available space decrimenting, as if the files are copying.
Can anyone offer any reasons for what I am seeing, or tell me how I can get at the restored files, which are taking up space on the drive but do not appear to be visible anywhere.
    Thanks.

Yup:  See #E3 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

  • Restore data from iCloud without resetting?

Let me get this straight. If I want to restore data from iCloud, then I will need to reset everything before I can do that? I have some photos that I need to restore, I can not do this in mac (asking for aperture or iphoto, which I refuse to buy, as Apple tries to nickel & dime). If this is correct,  then this is the dumbest idea, and iCloud qualifies to be the worst thing in the history of computers ever!

I have a MacBook Pro. I connect my iPad to the Mac with the USB cable and launch Image Capture. My iPad appears under the Devices heading with the option to import all of the photos - or any combination of them - to any folder on my Mac that I choose.
Did you try connecting the iPad to your Mac and launch Image Capture?
iCloud and iTunes both create full backups of the data and photos that are on your iOS device. The backups are to be used in emergency or troubleshooting situations. These backups are not like having external storage where you can selectively restore content. If your iPad software were to go bad and you needed to restore it, you could restore from the current backup in order to get all of the files and app data back onto the device.
Backups are not the same thing as storage drives where you can drag files onto and off of the drive.

  • Even though iOS cannot restore backups of newer devices, can it restore data from an older device using 7.1.2 to a newer device using iOS8

iPhone 4s 16GB running iOS 7.1.2. Even though iOS cannot restore backups of newer devices, can it restore data from an older device using 7.1.2 to a newer device using iOS8

    Hi ,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you cannot use your Wi-Fi after the latest update to your iPhone 4s. I know you have already done some great troubleshooting by restoring with iTunes but the Wi-Fi becomes unavailable very quickly after you set it up. Go ahead and set up the iPhone so you can get into the Setting and then follow the steps provided in the attached article.
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1559
         Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Restart your iOS device.
Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
If you complete all of these steps and still are not able to access the Wi-Fi, it may be necessary to follow the link at the bottom of the page and contact Apple Support.
    Have a great day,
    -Joe

  • Restore Data from Datafiles

    Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem with TTS(Transportable Tablespace).
I have a backup of tablespace TBS_DATA as TTS. Now i need to restore that tablespace.
Whenever I tried to restore using IMP command below error occured:
    IMP-00003: ORACLE error 19721 encountered
ORA-19721: Cannot find datafile with absolute file number 123 in tablespace TBS_DATA
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_PLUGTS", line 1730
    ORA-06512: at line 1
The TTS backup was not taken by me and i think that the dump file version and the version of backed up datafiles were not same (as I am sure that no datafile is missing in my par file and I simulated a test in which i took a TTS exp then made some change in the tablespace then tried to restore that tablespace got the same error as above).
Now under this scenario my question is,
"Is there any way to restore data from those datafiles ?(i know all the table names and structures)"

obaidWhen you talk about transportable tablespace and "backup" and importing -- I'm not sure exactly what you are doing and what you have to work with.
Let's start by you showing the actual command you used that produced the output you gave us.
And it certainly wouldn't hurt if you let us in on the secret of what OS and what version of Oracle you are using.

  • Restore data from the Sparsebundle

I'm trying to restore data from my dead Time Capsule to a new iMac. I extracted the sparsebundle from the TC hard drive by plugging it into a Mac Pro. I don't want to have to buy a SATA casement. I have the sparsebundle from the TC hard drive on the iMac hard drive that I want to restore. Can I restore the data from the sparsebundle to the iMac without have it on an external hard drive? In other words, can I somehow point the migration assistant to the sparsebundle that is on the iMac hard drive?

Let it alone. No one can tell how long it will take as that is a function of your data.

    2) How would I restore e.g. a particular photo from a backup I made with Time Machine? I can see how this is done with Word documents, but can't see how to do it with photos?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    1. The Time Machine icon is on the menu bar.
    2. If you want to do that with individual photos, it's the same way as for documents. If you want to do it with iPhoto, you have to restore the whole iPhoto library, not only one photo
