Restoring info on phone through backup assistant via computer

My son has a blackberry bold and he recently had so many failed attempts at his password that the phone started to wipe all the data.  He took the battery out but then placed it back in so all his data is erased.  He thinks he has backup assistant but wanted to see if he can sync it through the computer.  Does any one have any answers on how to do this?

Directions below for downloading backup assistance to your device:
From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
Select BackupAssistant.
Review the Agreement then select I agree to continue with the download and installation.
Ensure Set Application Permissions is selected (checked) then select Download.
The application version may differ from the example shown.
Ensure all permissions are set to Allow, press the Menu button then select Save.
If presented, select Yes.
Select OK.

    I recently updated my iTunes but now it refuses to open at all. I've googled this and it says that i need to just uninstall and then reinstall itunes, as the new 64 bit version has come out. My problem is this: I NEED the old itunes data that i have to sync contacts with my new phone. I made backup copies before my old iphone 4 crapped out, but i can't sync my new iphone with these copies without updating. however, i can't update without uninstalling everything and deleting my backups. see the problem here?

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
    I understand that you need to update iTunes but you have concern for your information in iTunes. It is unlikely that any of your purchased or uploaded data would be affected affected by uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, but I would recommend making sure your iTunes library has been backed up. Your contacts are not stored in iTunes but rather in the contacts program of your Windows computer. Deleting and reinstalling iTunes will not affect your contact data that is stored in your computer. 
    Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support
    Media you've bought from the iTunes Store or songs you've imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default. They won't be deleted by removing iTunes. Although it's highly unlikely that you'll lose any of your iTunes Library when following the steps below, first make sure that your iTunes library is backed up. See iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive for more information.
    Steps
    Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel.
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then restart your computer.
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Don't uninstall these components in a different order, or only uninstall some of them. Doing so might have unintended affects.

    Something caused my contacts to revert to an older version.  I not able to find how to restore them from an earlier Backup Assistant backup.

        I'm super sorry to hear about your contacts, dave658! I'm commited to doing all I can to ensure that you're able to restore your contacts. The best option would be to view your contacts online at vzw.com and follow the instructions below:
    1. Sign in to My Verizon.
    2. Locate the I Want To... section.
    3. Click More Actions.
    4. In the MESSAGING column, select Manage My Contacts. The Backup Assistant Plus: Contacts page displays.
    5. Click Sync to Phone. A confirmation message displays.
    6. Click OK.

  • How to sync more than phone numbers from Backup Assistant to LG Octane?

    On the LG Octane, I have been told that I can Import contacts from Outlook 2010.  Also I can edit and add contacts in Backup Assistant.  This I can do.  But when I sync the phone to Backup Assistant all that appears on the phone contacts list is the person's name and phone numbers.  The lines for address, email, etc are blank.  These items do not transfer from Backup Assistant.  What is wrong?

    Backup Assistant supports most address book fields; however, there are some address book fields and settings that may not be accessible.

  • How do you stop or remove Backup Assistant?

    My wife and I have had our Maxx HD phones for a few weeks now and it wasn't until recently that I noticed this feature (which I do not want) keeps trying to sync.  My only option is to change the time which it performs this function.  I cannot disable it (that button is greyed out in the app menu), there is no update to remove (as I have seen other suggest in some discussions), etc.  I also logged in a few times to disable the feature on my account (via PC) but it is not selected.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Yesterday, I moved the sync time from midnight to 6am.  ....and I awoke to see the app trying to sync several times.  The short of it is that I do not want my personal contact information stored anywhere other than my phone.  This is really frustrating.

    This is actually a very simple thing to do and there are 2 ways to do it.
    1) from the home screen click on the menu button and select Manage Apps.
    2) Scroll down to the Backup Assistant and select it (there are multiple here so you might need to look for the right one)
    3) Uninstall Updates
    4) Disable (only one of the versions will allow you to disable it, but that is the main program that actually connects to Backup Assistant)
    The other way (or in addition to)
    Call Verizon and tell them you need to change your Backup Assistant Password. Let them change it on their side and then do NOT put the pin into your phone. Backup Assistant will never be able to connect to your phone.
    Now a more drastic way to do this (and it has been worth it to me in the past) is do a FDR on the phone and when you are going through the setup phase, skip over the Backup assistant setup options. I would also go in and Disable Backup Assistant as well.

    Hi, I installed Backup Assistant a couple of years ago, and I was just trying to perform a manual backup, the first in at least 12 months.  On the Backup Assistant webpage, I clicked the Sync button, and it seemed to work.  I also manually initiated a "Restore" from my phone in the Backup Assistant app, which seemed to go through.  I see items that were updated this year on the website, but there are some new contacts I created this year that don't appear on the web site.  Am I doing something wrong?  Thanks for any help.

    does your new phone have backup assistant installed on it? If so try updating from your phone. If not you need to download it to your phone, then update.

  • Backup Assistant Website Down?

    I've been trying to access the Backup Assistant website for the last several days to restore a media file and a contact from the backup (which is working from our phones), but when I sign into the website it hangs on the spinning swirl screen (Please Wait a Few Moments while we process your request) and never gets anywhere.  Is the site down?  Am I alone?  The same thing happens when we sign in for different accounts from different computers and different browsers.  Any guidance is appreciated.

    So I bought a phone from a private party. He had the phone rooted, whatever that means. So I now go to upload all of my contacts through backup assistant yet I am unable to find the app.  Any ideas where I can download it or find it so I can put it back on my phone? Thanks

    Having your contacts is really important. Although I can't assist with the phone alteration, I do have a couple of recommendations.
    You can transfer your backup assistant applications to your gmail instead. Follow these steps please:

    where is the backup assistant or how do I get my contacts?  just switched to the S5 from a blackberry curve...

        Congrats on your new S 5! It's a great device. Did you previously use Backup Assistant on your Blackberry Curve? To retrieve your contacts through backup assistant on the S 5 the backup must have first been completed on the Blackberry Curve.

    Hello, I've searched for similar problems with no luck. I've installed backup assistant in my old LG VX8575 to get the contacts off so I can download them to my new phone. Backup Assistant on the phone says it's backed up 292 contacts and that I can see and edit them online. But online when I access my account at verizonwireless.com/backupassistant, which becomes wbillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/nos/ba_nab/overview_def.jsp, the apparently new portal for backup assistant plus, my contacts list is empty. The phone numbers are identical. What can I do now to get the contacts to show up online so I can activate my new phone and download them? Thanks!

    Hmm, now they ARE there, over half an hour later. Wonder if they ought to say wait a while and then they'll show in the instructions... Thanks anyway, all!

    Sorry about the delay in our response. Hopefully your issue has already been resolved. If you are still having issues with your phone's backup assistant, please follow the bellow steps to resolve this issue.
    1. Select Media Center (Get It Now).
    2. Select Browse & Download.
    3. Select Backup Assistant then press the soft key to choose Options.
    4. Select Cancel Subscription.
    5. Select Yes.
    6. Exit out to the main screen.
    7. Select Media Center (Get It Now).
    8. Select Browse and Download.
    9. Select Get New App.
    10. Search for Backup Assistant and download.
    11. Install Backup Assistant.

  • How do I transfer photos from my iPhone to my computer that I orignally uploaded to the phone through iTunes?

    I set up my iPhone on my old computer and had transferred photos onto the phone through iTunes.  That computer has since crashed, and I was unable to untinstall itunes before it crashed.  I would like to transfer the photos from my iPhone to my new computer to free up some space on my iPhone.  Sine these are not pictures that i took with the iPhone, how do I transfer them to a computer?  These are baby pictures of my kids, and I do not want to lose them but am out of space on my phone.

    So I ended up uploading all of them to Google Drive.  Took 8 hours, but I got it done.  However, now I can't delete any of these pictures from the iPhone.  Can anyone help me with that?  Because the computer that I originally registered my phone with on itunes is not longer operational, I can't figure out how to do this.

    Have you updated the dreaded Backup Assistant program?  I think you need to do this first before you can restore.
