Restoring Information from Timecapsule
I'm restoring information back onto my Macbook. It's stuck with "less than a minute remaining" and has been this way for about an hour. It's all wireless. I'm told I should restart my computer, is that true? If not, what should I do?

I was on the phone with Apple today. After resetting the TC and erasing the HD and reinstalling the OS again, the Apple folks had me do the migraton assistant again. This time I was taliking with a TC support person. When it came time in the process to recognize and select the MacBook Pro data on the TC, he had me wait about 30 seconds. And sure enough after that time both the TC data for my iMac AND for my MacBook Pro were displayed and I could select the correct one. My previous mistake was going with the first selection and not giving TC enough time to display both back ups.
So after the 30 second wait and selecting the correct Back Up, everything went perfectly.

Last week my Imac was stolen. Fortunately the thieves did not take the Airport Time Capsule on which I have my back-ups.
Yesterday I bought a new Imac and today I tried to recover my back-ups.
A very disappointing experience I must say!
During installation I somewhere chose the option to restore information from a previous backup. I entered all the requested ID's and passwords and the system started to reset the backups. It indicated that the "transfer file process" would require 2 hrs 45 minutes. Very promising!
However, after less than 10 minutes it stopped. When I checked the information on the Imac it appeared to be inclomplete. Part of my photo's had been recovered, but my E-mail settings including address books and old E-mails had not been recovered.
I then used the Migration assistant to start the transfer process again. Unfortunately with the same sad result.
When I tried to repeat the process again, the system did not find the Imac back-up on the time machine anymore.
Is there anybody who can help me out???Your backups may be corrupted. Try repairing them, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting. Be sure to connect to the TC via Ethernet.
Then start over, per the green box in How do I set up a new Mac from my old Mac or its backups? -
How can I restore music from iPhone to iTunes Library?
iTunes deleted music (the proverbial !) in my iTunes library, however the music (I want it in the library) still plays on my iPhone. I have repeatedly trying synching the iPhone (the music is still playing ok on the 3GS) but whenever I click on the song in iTunes library, I get the ! and "cannot locate song". How do I get the music on my iPhone back onto the iTunes Library? I tried synching iPhone but still ! in iTunes. This just happened the other day when I opened iTunes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LenIf you have back up your music, you can restore from the backup.
To restore information from a backup, use one of the following methods after connecting your iOS device to the computer with which you normally sync:
Right-click (or Control-click) the device and choose Restore from Backup
If you have a new phone, you can connect to iTunes and it will prompt to restore from your backup

If you have no backup for your data on iPhone, iPhone data recovery software is your last shot! I used Wondershare iOS Data Recovery and it worked well, there are also other options available. -
My iPad 2 will no longer Sync with iTunes on my computer. It tells me to Restore which I don't want to do as I may lose valuable information from my iPad. My wife's iPad 2 and my ipod still Sync OK. How can I overcome this?

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard. -

i was transferring my information from my old iphone to the new one, and i forgot that i had some pictures in the new one. i did the restoring information and the pictures in new one are gone. how can i get them back???? please
Only way to get it back is to restore your phone from a backup, if those pics were included in that backup.
But most likely those pics are gone.
What you should've done was import http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 the pics to your computer and after you restored from your old backup, you could sync those new pics to your phone via itunes. -

It isn't an issue if you still have the backup, either on your computer or in the iCloud. You cannot restore to a backup that you have deleted. -

Unfortunately, New Zealand doesn't have an Apple store. The closest we have is something called Yoobee, who i'm going to have to visit on the weekend. As while I got my iPad back fixed today, I have been unable to load all of my apps from the Cloud. Weirdly some of the Apps loaded, and I even synced one with my Mac, only to find later that they had disappeared. Now some are showing open but not working. This has been the most frustrating experience. I have always loved my iPads (this is my 3rd one) but I am seriously regretting paying for this one.

Can i set my iPhone 4 as a new phone then use iCloud to get information from before restoring the phone? I've restored my iPhone 4 thru iTunes and now trying to set it up using iCloud but it says 'no back ups available'.
I was upgrading my OS system thru iTunes but the plug on my macbook came out and battery ran flat half way thru. This jammed my iPhone 4.
I think it's to do with the OS system. That if i take it to the previous OS system it might work. But since i'm in phone set up mode i can't get into general setting to change it back.
So can i set it up as a new phone and then use icloud to restore info? Or is there something else i can do?No. You can set up as a new device or restore from iCloud or iTunes. It looks like you backed up with iTunes, so you can't restore with iCloud. To backup your device in iCloud, go to Settings > iCloud and activate it

My New Iphone 4 is restoring with the information from my old IPhone 3gs on Itunes. How do i get it to restore back to the 4g?
There is no 4g.
If you don't want to restore it with your old iPhone information, then just restore as a NEW phone, not from the backup. Don't quite understand what there's not to get. :-| -
When I restored my information from a previous backup, the contacts did not copy back to the iPhone 4S. Anyone have any idea why or how to fix this problem? Thanks!

When transferring music from iTunes to iPhone after about 3 downloads a message come up saying iTunes cannot get information from phone and I should restore phone to factory settings I do not wont to do this because I am worried I will loose all phone contacts ,pictures,and songs anyone know how I can resolve this
Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for such important data, which can be lost or stolen or damaged beyond repair.
Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer and/or there are a number of free email accounts that support syncing contacts and other data over the air such as with an Apple iCloud account, Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail.
Photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
In addition, contacts and photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll are included with the iPhone's backup. -
My new iPhone was suppose to download information from iCloud. It has not sent the pass code, so I cannot get into my new phone. At the bottom of the phone is a message"restoring from iCloud backup". Must I wait until this message goes away?
