Restoring Ipad for sale, loading old info to new Ipad2

Im planning to buy the new Ipad 2 when it comes out...I need to know how to restore the ipad I have now, so I can give away or sell. Also after I save all infor from old Ipad, will that information sync to the ipad 2?
Thanks for any help

Tip: You can do a manual backup at anytime (without syncing) by Control-clicking on your iPad's icon in the left frame of iTunes and select "Back Up."

  • IPad for sale

While there are many people who do like the iso7, there are many many many more who do not so ..... This can only mean one thing .... IPads for sale !!! Since Apple gives me no other choice or option this is the only option left. I will go to a store I know still has the older version and scoop one up. This is a terrible way to move technology along. Especially since 95 % of iPad users aren't rich and could just toss it and buy a another one. At least this way I can get some of my money back !!!

It's rather surprising to think apple actually believe that ios7 will actually attract as many (or hopefully more?) previous non iPad users than their dictatorial agenda repels.
Power to the people who enjoy ios7 and ignore the fact that they have no choice, I remember being a happy user of apple products but how can this end up being good for business when the competition supplies anything yo want, the only Unique Selling Point as far as apple is concerned is their total ignorance of customer's opinion.
My apple products will gather dust, with the occasional use but change is coming and the multiple thousands I have spent at apple are now at an end.

  • I loaded photos to my new iPad2 using iCloud. The photos went in all jumbled up. Now I can't delete them or delete the albums. How can I delete?

I loaded photos to my new iPad2 using iCloud. The photos went in all jumbled up. Now I can't delete them or delete the albums. How can I delete?

Well, typically one of the fixes that I would suggest is to try to delete the waiting icons. WIFi in a public places like McDonalds, Starbucks, B&N, etc. is not the greatest and I would avoid those places for downloading and updating apps. But I do realize that not everybody has access to Wifi in their homes.
These are all things that have worked at one time or another for other users. Hopefull one of them will work for you. Just ignore whatever does not apply or anything that you have already tried.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • Got 5S and tried to load old info on phone and messed up

I just got a new iPhone.  I went to download my music, etc from old phone and hit restore old phone to new phone.  Seems I lost all my new pictures and info as a result.  Can I get them back? new phone is 5s.  old was 4s.  I don't want old software.  help! I upgraded to the new phone because I had issues with old phone.  Don't like the way the photos are, etc.   Can I just delete all this and restore again?

    Hello abthrelkeld
If you do not like what you had previously, then restore your new iPhone to its original settings. Import the information to your computer and then sync that data to your new iPhone. Check out the articles below on importing your photos and syncing your data back over. Alternatively you can back up using iCloud and can restore that information that was as well.

  • Restoring iMac for sale

    Hi
I have just bought a new iMac i7.
Have sold my iMac Core 2 Duo 3.06Ghz. I would like to no how to clear the hard drive of all my stuff, and restore the iMac to as new, so the new buyer can set it up for themselves, and not be able to access my private data. I do have all the original CD's supplied with the machine. It came running Snow Leopard.

    Have a look at this.
    http://hivelogic.com/articles/how-to-prepare-a-mac-for-sale
He suggests the 7 pass zero. That is overkill. One pass zero is completely sufficient.
Or this one, but he neglects to mention you should zero out the drive first before reinstalling. With this one, I believe you can install the bundled software from the second disc, where I'm not certain that will be possible using the first method (or use the first method and let the buyer install the bundled software since you are supplying both discs.)

Be sure to type the commands in exactly as written, observing case and spaces. You will be in Single user mode with complete access to all the system files: one typo can lead to problems or disaster. And, NetInfo is gone since Leopard, so don't worry about deleting that.

  • Problems putting a keynote presentation on 30 ipads for sales team

I need to put the Keynote App along with a keynote presentation on 30 separate iPads from sales people around the country. They are all synced to their personal accounts. When I sync to my computer, their apps get deleted, and then when they re-sync to their computer, Keynote and the presentation is deleted. Is there a workaround?
Also, most don't have email set up on their ipads, so I have to install the keynote presentation through the iTunes App window. All are PC people too.
Ugh! Got to be a way?

Why didn't you do it properly from the start and have them pay for the Keynote app via their own iTunes account (which you could have reimbursed them for) and then just email them the presentation/place it on a website for them to download so they could sync it to their iPads via iTunes?

  • Erase ipad for sale,

  • What are the benefits/limitations in using iPad for sales people?

I've been wanting to know if I could use the iPad to do my sales job instead of having to carry around a Windows laptop.  I would obviously still have the laptop and prob would create Powerpoint presentations, Word and Excel docs, but the main use would be Powerpoint and web.
Anyone have any real experience they can share?
    Thanks!!

I've used it to display my photographic skills.  I've found that it's much less "intrusive" on the potential client.

  • Restore Old info on New Hard Drive

    Greeting,
I recently sent in my Powerbook G4 (Tiger) to the depot center in order to get my screen fixed (screen was completely dark). The good news is, they fixed the screen and upgraded my hard drive. The bad news is, there is nothing on the updated hard drive.
Prior to sending the unit out, I did two backups to an external drive:
    1. Backed up the entire drive using .mac backup utility
    2. Created a clone using disk utility
(these were the only two options I had, since I could hardly see the screen and I have used these utilities before)
My first question is, what would be the best way to restore the new hard drive with the backups that I have?
My second question is, I briefly powered up the unit and saw the welcome screen. I assume that I will have to go through the set-up again in order two complete either of the above options. Is this correct?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Connect the external drive and restart the computer. After the chime press and hold down the OPTION button until the boot manager screen appears. Select the icon for the external drive and click on the large right arrow button.
After startup use Disk Utility to clone the external drive to the new internal drive:
How to Clone Using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (journaled, if available) and click on the Erase button. This step can be skipped if the destination has already been freshly erased.
    4. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    5. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the startup or source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.

  • How do I set up my old ipad for my daughter and get my new ipad up and running?

I want to remove me from an older ipad and set it up for my daughter and then set up my new one.

    Wipe iPhone/iPad/iPod touch clean
There are a few steps to do:
Switch off iMessage in Settings > Messages
Switch off FaceTime in Settings > FaceTime (iPod touch 4th Generation or later, iPhone 4 or later and iPad 2 or later)
Delete iCloud in Settings > iCloud > Delete Account
Finally Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
    Un-register your device: https://supportprofile.apple.com
    Now you can sell/give.
You can share your books, music and apps with your daughter using the purchasing Apple ID in
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > purchasing Apple ID here.
Get another Apple ID using a valid e-mail address for her so that she can use the other Apple services e.g. Game Center, iMessage, FaceTime etc.

  • Restoring emac for sale

My G4 emac came with Panther OS and I have since upgraded to Leopard, how do I restore/erase HD?
I am running the ilife that came with Panther. I have a EHD for backup, do I just unplug the EHD or does it matter? When I receive my new mac mini can I just plug in the EHD and will the mini know it is there? I have over 100 gigs of itunes on the EHD.

My G4 emac came with Panther OS and I have since upgraded to Leopard, how do I restore/erase HD?
Use the eMac's original disks to perform an Erase & Restore, and include those disks with it.

Eject it in the Finder or shut down the computer before unplugging.

  • Preparing Used Ipad for Sale

I am preparing to sell my 1st Generation Ipad.  In order to reset everything to its original settings and erase everything that is on it do I simply go to "General" -----> "Settings"  ----> "Reset All Settings"?  Any other steps I need to be aware about?  Thank You.

  • ICal shows old info in new contact

When creating a new calendar event, then selecting the event to populate it with info... I cal shows a bubble for a random completely different event.
I have to deselect the event then select it again to get a clean slate.
This does not happen predictable but frequently  maybe 3 out of 5 times.
    Any ideas?

Even better than target disk mode is cloning it over with a program like SuperDuper. It will copy every last bit and byte on one hard drive over to another hard drive.
I did that with my iMac when I upgraded the stock 160GB drive to a 320GB unit. When the cloning was finished, everything was exactly as it was on the old drive, but with a whole lot more free space.

  • Load old version on new machine via CC... possible?

So if anyone is unsure why I need to do this either read my older post (Re: Walking yesterday. Crawling today.) or just look at the top 100 current forum posts concerning the latest updates at any given moment.
In a nutshell I am building a new super machine (so that Adobe can still copy paste their canned "It's your system" response to all of my future problem posts) and I have a large project (short film, hundreds of clips, tons of audio, lots of masks and CC) currently on an old machine using PPro 2014.0 single barrel. I would like to know if it is possible for me to transfer over the entire project/media files to the new machine and load it right into 2014.0 single barrel on the new machine so I can just get this project completed and delivered without nary a hiccup before daring to smoke test the... >GULP!<... latest PPro version on a far less involved/lucrative project.
I feel like when the new machine is ready and I go to download PPro its going to force the latest version on me... is there a way to select a legacy version? Would loading the latest version and then rolling back (like I have done in my current situation) work if the new machine has never had the older version?
Full disclosure I've never transferred projects to new software versions, let alone new machines, in my life... so any insight that spells things out as if I'm in 8th grade would be greatly appreciated.
    Excelsior!

Well I really (read as REALLY) want to just finish this project so the plan was to go into a test mindset after it was in the can. So get over to the new computer, finish a few tweaks and render it off the new box. Then I am fully prepared to go into test mode.
But in theory, sans the time it would take to try/fail/rollback, I suppose you are right. So maybe, but you have prolly gathered which way I am leaning -- Thanks shooternz
    >> "and thousands of editors are cutting away without issues."
I'd question those numbers, or the ability to even project them, but regardless I am simply one of the lowly hundreds. I am far more confident and vindicated about my experience/feelings concerning this release than I was when I originally shared my story.

  • How do i get my apps and old info onto new phone

I recently upgraded my phone, now I cant get my apps or anything off of my account onto the new phone? help please

Lucky you, a dead iPhone and a dead computer!  If you were backing up your old computer to an external drive then you might be able to recover your backup file.  But if you don't have a backup of your old computer then you're outta luck, iTunes itself does not contain the backup file.
If you have a backup of your old computer's hard drive, your iPhone's backup file would be located at:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista or 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
You would then put the iPhone backup file into the same location on the new computer, then restore the iPhone and select this backup.
