Restoring iPhone 4 - help I dont want to lose my photos!
iTunes is telling me my phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored.
I havent sync'd my phone in ages to iTunes so am worried if I restore it I will lose all my photos, data etc.
Is there anyway around this??
Ok there are a couple of other resources out there that can help you get out of the recovery loop problem. They are a bit outdated but I suggest trying IREB. If neither IREB, Tiny Umbrella or Rec Boot do the job for you, there might be some type of corruption in your configuration files. Unfortunately, you would have to restore your iphone . I'll post the link for IREB below, Good Luck and let us know how it works out for you.

Once you download it and open IREB, you want to go the next tab and click on Recovery Mode Loop FIxer
Then Click on set auto boot true/recovery loops

When I turned on my ipad the itunes logo is on it. I cant get to my home screen. I plugged it to my computer and went to the itunes and it states that the ipad is in recovery mode and that I have to do a restore. I have some important photos on it that I dont want to lose. Then you can select that backup to restore from if you want. If it is an old backup - then you will be restoring the iPad to the condition that it was on that date. You mentioned March 15 in your first post. If your only backup is from last year, then you will lose all of the photos that you have taken since then.
When you post back, include details ...not just a one sentence statement. Its difficult to ascertain exactly what you are experiencing without specific details. -

I want to update to ios5 but I dont want to lose my photo library, what do i do?
I had to reformat my laptop, so all of the previously sync'd photos are in my photo library, not in my cameral roll.
I'm able to sync my camera roll, but not my photo library.
I dont want to lose the photos in the photo library if the upgraded to ios5 deletes all data.
What is the recommendation for this or does it delete the photo library?
thanksYou must be connected to the network you wish to forget. If you are, head to Settings -> Wi-fi and click the > next to the network you are currently connected to. At the top of the next screen is the button to "Forget this Network."

My iphone 4 is in recovery mode but i dont want to lose my photos or video.
i went to download new upgrade but it went into recovery mode..i did not back up my latest videos or pics and i dont want to loose them! it is stillin recovery mode and have yet to restore trying to see if i am still able to recover all my photos on my iphone4.
Normally, you cant see the iPod data in explorer, unless you put them in, using iPod Diskmode,
You can copy, whatever you see in Win explorer, from your iPod into a portable hardisk.
But you must use 3rd Party software, to copy the songs that you sync via iTunes library, from the iPod back to PC.
There are a few post these past few days on how to do it.

I just did an update on my iphone 4s, I think it was for the iOS 5.0.1. Afterwards it restarted and my screen was froze with the itunes logo and usb cord thingy.
When I connected it to iTunes it says iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. And that I must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.
What should I do? I am afraid I will lose all my contacts, music, photos, etc.... PLEASE HELP!

CarolIf it's in recovery mode (iTunes logo and USB cable on the screen) then there is nothing on the phone to lose. Everything that was on it is already gone. If you've been backing up on a regular basis and syncing your contacts to a supported cloud service or contact manager, you should simply be able to restore it.

So, my Iphone 4 now has a black screen. Before it did this I unlocked the screen (which has a passcode) try to open instagram and the screen flashed and went black. I can make calls and it seems to send messages but I dont know for sure because the screen is black. The power button (sleep) does not work and when I try to reset the phone it makes a call. I never synced it to a computer or Itunes and I didnt start photo stream. I want to preserve the pictures because it has photos of family members that have passed. Is there a way to get the photos?? If you have attempted the reset, which is holding the home button and sleep/wake button, was it still connected to the computer? Have you tried to do that when not connected. You stated it never came on, how long did you hold the buttons together? If you cannot get it to connect to iTunes then you would not be able to restore the device. You can see if you can put the device into Recovery Mode by following the instructions in this support document. If that does not work, then you are correct, make an appointment at the Apple Store. Uhless this program will get the iPod out of recovery mode you will have to restore via iTunes.

We need more information here to be able to determine how to answer your question correctly.
Are you asking about Time Machine backups that you have made on the Time Capsule?
Are you asking about iPhoto or Aperture....or....another application?
Depending on your information, you may get a faster and more informed response if you post in the support forums for iPhoto or Aperture, but in general, if you are restoring an image library from Time Machine backups......you have an option when you restore the "old" library to keep the current library as well......so for a time, you will have two image libraries.
When you have found the image that you want from the "old" library and you no longer need it, you can delete the "old" library. -

You have to restore and thus erase your iPod. that is how it works.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

You will need to restore your phone, just do the restore from your backup in itunes, assuming you have backed up your phone recently, and had your photos synced.

I have forgotten my restrictions passcode and i dont want to lose any media on my iphone, or any apps, i am scared to back up my media for restore in future as these photos and videos mean a great deal to me, is there any way i could get around it? All media and apps on the device should already be in iTunes on the computer.
If you have forgotten the restrictions passcode, the ONLY option is to restore as new.
Then sync back any media, apps, contacts, etc back to the device.
You can not restore from backup as the restrictions passcode is included in the backup. -

If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, or you don't have a backup, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

Hi, I recently bought a Lumia 630 phone and to my annoyance I have noticed that it does not sync my Exchange subfolders. I have configured the Exchange account correctly and I get all of my emails from inbox synced exactly like they should but I can'
