Restoring Only Some of my Apps to New iPad

Getting a new ipad air today and want it to be "clean" but I do want many of the apps and data for those apps from my iPad 2 backup. Is there a way to only restore selected apps or does a restore just restore everything?

If you are restoring from a backup, then all of the information in that backup will be placed onto the device. The information about what is contained in an iOS backup can be found in this article:

My suggestion would be to clean up your iPad 2 first, then create a backup, then restore the new iPad Air from that backup. More information on backups can be found here:

I purchased a new iPad Air and some of the apps from my iPad 3rd gen do not show in my purchased apps nor are they listed in the app store any longer. The apps still work on my iPad 3rd gen. How do I get them to my new iPad air?

I am running the most up to date iOS 7.0.4 on all my mobile devises. The apps still work on the iPad 3rd gen with iOS 7.0.4 installed. But if I go to the app store on either of these devises, the apps do not appear, even under my purchased apps on the older iPad. Not sure how that can happen when the app still works on that devise. I am really at a loss.

These apps are probably meant for the iPhone/iPod touch. Some apps are universal, and other have dedicated iPad versions.

Hbo go isn't currently installed. It dissapeared from iPad home screens but not from settings. Waited for update. When it finally came I saw hbo icon during update then when it finished the update it dissapeared again.
Saw it in my apps on my computer. Tried to sync it back. No luck.. Reformatted device .. Tried to download hbo go. The install button in the app store won't highlight. I notice max go app won't highlight either. or photon flash browser too. Weird stuff. Does it not work on new iPad ?

Can't find free apps for new iPad air

Free apps for new iPad air not loaded and they are showing up as $9.99 in the App Store. When seething up the it asked download now or wait until later and I choose to wait but now they are nowhere to download

After activating your iPad, go to the App Store and search for your free apps:
1. Pages
2. Numbers
3. Keynote
4. iPhoto
5. iMovie
6. GarageBand
If apps are still showing the price: sign out>reboot>and sign in again
Settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple ID

We are trying to load apps on new iPad we just bought and it is extremely slow. What can we do to resolve?

As they are loading, presumably you can see circles with a bar in the middle indicating progress (or lack thereof).
My suggestion is to pause all but one app by clicking the bar in the middle of each app you are going to pause.
Then let the one app complete loading. The progress will be shown by the circle getting bold and eventually the entire circle will be bold and will change to saying "Open".
Then repeat this process to load the next app, etc.

Photo app in NEW iPad slow after restore from iPad2

I synced over 12,000+ photos into my iPad3 and not only is the photo app extremely slow and unresponsive when browsing photo events in the Events section, but everything is out of order and no longer in chronological order like it is on the iPad2. Is it only some type of apps that need a intel update...

reason and ableton needed an update but office seems to work......is it only certain type of apps.....does an old version of creative suite run on intel macs or is that one that needs an update? is there a universal binary discussion page ...cannt see it?

Most applications use general frameworks that are available within Mac OS X for a lot of what they do. Any such app will work with Rosetta just fine.
Ableton and Reason, along with Protools, Logic, and probably Digital Performer being audio applications require some pretty interesting tweaks to ensure the best performance. As such they sometimes do things with unusual frameworks, create their own frameworks, or occasionally directly access specific abilities of specific hardware. All of those applications surely were tweaked to do certain functions directly on the PPC chip, many utilizing Altivec.
As such they might not be compatible with Rosetta if Apple didn't include those specific chip features knowing that only a small handful of developers where accessing them. It breaks a few programs, but if it only effected a handful of developers out of thousands, and saved Apple a lot of time in development and support they would think it worthwhile.
Especially when you consider that all the Audio and Video vendors really appreciate the performance they can squeeze from the Core Duo chips, so they all started updating as quickly as they could.

Cannot install "iTunes Movie Trailers App" on new iPad

Hello all,
I just got the new iPad (3rd Gen.).
I am trying to install the iTunes Movie Trailer App (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itunes-movie-trailers/id471966214?mt=8)
For some reason, after clicking the install icon, I get an error Pop-up screen that says "Action could not be completed".
I have installed plenty of other Apps with no issues at all.
Is this App only for U.S. users (I am from Canada)?
I suspect it is something like this because my son also cannot install this App on his iPod touch.
Any ideas?

Nevertheless, it should be able to say "Not available in your region" before I even get the possibility to download.
Like for example, if I go on the MTV website, I cannot view their videos, they give a proper message.
For sure they would be able to do the same in a more user-friendly message.
Another good example, go see this App for the BBC, first thing they say: Exclusive to the UK.

Transferring apps to new iPad?

Does anyone know if you can transfer your apps to the new iPad 2 from your iPad 1? They are downloaded on my computer so I don't see why not, but making sure before I buy the new iPad.

Make sure you have a current backup of your 1st gen iPad in iTunes. When you get your new iPad, do a Restore to the new iPad and most info installs to the new iPad. You may have to sync a few apps. Mine was pretty seamless in the process and my contacts copied over just fine (I didn't have any notes, so I can't speak to that).
The only thing - if I recall correctly - that does not transfer over is your passwords; you will have to enter them again - which makes sense for security reasons.
