Restoring original sounds

I had somehow edited the guitar sounds in GB and now when I'm in the
sound library, only one guitar file appears... Acoustic Steel Strings.
My question...How do I restore or locate the original settings and
have the 20 or so instruments that were in the original file ?
Thanks in advance !

  • Can I edit out original sound in a clip?

I've been using "the Missing Manual" by David Pogue and it has been fantastic at helping me edit with iMovie. One thing that doesn't seem to be addressed, however, is if the original sound track can be either eliminated or softened for a movie clip. When I put music over some clips, horrible wind sounds or other distractions still come through and I'd like to be able to eliminate that and just hear the music.

For sound editing you may like iMovie 06 better (it's built-in).
iMovie 06 is a free download to iLife 08 owners. (THEY WANT YOU TO HAVE IT!)

iMovie 06 and iDVD 08 is a terrific combination.
Much has been written about the differences between iMovie 06 and iMovie 08. I have found the below link to be helpful.

  • How do I restore original file naming on an import

Through a process of idiocy and confusion, I've ended up with TWO creation dates on my files, e.g. 20140112-20140112-Johnny at the beach.  I tried the step back, step back, step back system, or "undo, undo" but that didn't succeed.  I've tried creating a new catalogue to re-import the photos from iPhoto, but I've mislaid the File Renaming Panel that my Lightroom tutor's handout mentions as being on the right-hand side of the screen.  I can only see Histogram and Keyword list.
When I try and rename the files individually, I don't get an option to merely remove one of the 201401112 key strings, I get a series of checkboxes.
I know I've done wrong, but I want to undo it and not make it worse.  I'm scared that if I restore original settings, I'll delete all of my images - all 1400+ of them!
Anyone who can give a solution gets a lovely cake.

I suggest you stop Re-Naming your images on import and place them in folders by the date they were shot. Lightroom can do that for you on import from card or camera or you can do it yourself manually before you import them into LR. You could also put the Sub-folders by date in a top level folder by year or just in one folder named whatever you like.
Not sure why people Re-Name their images when copying them from the card/camera to their hard drive. To me that makes no sense at all. If I have images that I want to separate from others I will manually re-name them and or assign a keyword or rating to them. You can also have collections of images by subject, location, date or whatever you like and those collections can be from any folder imported into LR.
The only time I would even think about re-naming images on import, and or copying to my hard drive, is if I have 2 identical cameras. Which I have in the past. But even then I changed the file naming in the camera having one cameras files start with 1 and the other start with 2

  • Deleting original sound of footage and replace with new sound tract.

I took footages of dance sequences and I want to completely eliminate the original sounds and replace it with a song that plays from beginning to end of the movie I'm creating. The ducking slider won't slide back to zero thus when I play the movie, I can still hear the original sound of the footage. How do I completely eliminate the original sound. Thanks for your help!

You don't need ducking for this. Turn it off. In your clip, open the inspector and go to the Audio tab. Set the volume slider to zero.

  • How to restore original values to an iMacros demo file

Made mistake when I tried to edit one of the demo files for iMacros and would like to restore original demo file

  • Restoring original adjustments of a Mac Book Pro 13 last model

    Good morning
I just bought a Mac Book pro 13 (last model) and I tried to use assistant migration to migrate everything from my old Mac Book (OS X LIon and updated), by ethernet connexion by cable, but the operation avorted twice. No interesting solution for the moment from the Apple Care telephone ahelp. They seem as bewildered as me.
I am looking for a solution in my old Mac, but  before going in the Old Mac to see what's going wrong (I had done, though, the necessary adjustment, like deactivation of all applications opening automatically, never deactivate hard drive, unlink my computer to Dropbox etc..) I want to  restore my new Mac Book Pro with its original features (without any trace of the precedent operation, or user accounts etc..)
SO: Is it better to format hard disk and restore original adjustments (as if I had just open the computer) or to use in Disk utilities the command "Reinstall Mac OS X and its application"?
I should think it is the first solution but I liked an advise from more clever folks than me.
    Secondary question:
Could the problem be because my new Mac Pro had been configured in the Apple Store with the same user account than the one on my old Mac (and same Apple ID)?
    Or is there other possibilities?
Thanks for your Help. I would'nt like to go the Apple Store and have it done for me, and die an idiot. (french expression)
    Cathy

Doing a Clean re-install of Lion would not hurt as yes the failed MA may have placed certain thing on the system before it finally failed, I wouldn't know about that.
If you chose to do that look into creating a Lion Install USB thumb drive so you never have to download the Lion install files again and so you won't need a internet connection to re-install Lion.
IMHO it really isn't a time eater. IMHO it is the only way to have New computer without all the JUNK you have collected on the old one transfered over. It is the only way I setup a NEW computer. Buy the computer, Windows or Mac, Wipe the drive and reinstall the OS CLEAN. Install the programs I want on the new computer and then copy my personal files over.
Now there will be other opinions on this. Some of the Apple Fan Boys will state that OS X is so great that it never needs cleaning or a reinstall. That has not been my experience over the years of working on other peoples Macs.

  • How can I restore the sound on my ipad

How can I restore the sound on my ipad please?
I have know idea what happened to it but I am disabled
and rely on it so much because it is so easy to carry around.
Please advise me how to restore it. I miss listening to my music
    so much.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Tap on General
    3. Tap on Reset
    4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

  • Safari: How to restore lost sound?

I was using a web page video and sound went out when I switched to a You Tube how to video.  How can I restore my sound in Safari?
Have top of the line and Latest updates.  Help, Please!

Thanks, but I cannot find any volume control on my YouTube video.  There is Settings for Quality of Closed Caption and theater mode and watch later choices, nothing for sound.  Oh, on the left side; thanks!  (Mute seems to be the default.)

  • Audition - Restoring Original

    Premiere Pro CC v7.2.1
    Win7 Pro 64-bit
In Premiere, you have a clip which was edited via "Edit clip in Adobe Audition".
Premiere never changes the original clip, it creates a separate audio file which Premiere uses.
You later reopen the project in order to restore that clip to the original.
There does not appear to be a "restore original audio" menu item for the clip.
How do you restore the clip audio to the original?
    Thanks in advance.

Jim - Before submitting this as a Feature and Bug request to
    Feature Request/Bug Report Form
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
Please let me know if the following correctly summarizes the situation.
If it does, I  hope you and others will also submit it. Thanks.
In the Premiere Pro CC v7.2.1 timeline, when you edit a clip via "Edit Clip in Adobe Audition",
Premiere never changes the original clip. It creates a separate audio WAV and PKF in the bin.
If you re-edit the clip, Audition creates a new WAV and PKF with "Audio Extracted" appended to the filename.
This leaves multiple WAV and PKF files for the same clip which is annoying.
If you later reopen the project in order to edit the original, there are issues.
In the timeline, if you select the audio part of the clip, the "Edit Original" is grey.
In the Project window, if you select one of the WAV files for the clip in the bin,
the "Edit Original" menu item for the clip does not edit the original - it opens Windows Media Player.
This Is A Bug. In the timeline, one should be able to select the audio, then select "Edit Original", and have it edit the original.
Also, it should delete all the previous multiple WAV and PKF files.
There Is Also A Major Feature Missing. One should be able to "Restore Original".
Specifically, in the timeline, one should be able to select the audio, then select "Restore Original", and have Premiere place the original audio back.
Premiere should also delete all the WAV  and PKF files for the clip.

  • Audigy 4 EAX Control Panel - ORIGINAL SOUND ALWAYS HEARD NO MATTER W

I'm using an Audigy 4. On XP, would?use EAX to normalize the wave output signal when participating in an online meeting. I would add a Normalizer and then turn down the original sound. On Vista, the original sound is ALWAYS heard even if I set it to -infinity?the Master Tab and also Wave setting of the source tab. The normalizer MIGHT be working, but I can't tell because the original sound is still heard, and so it doesn't not seem that the normalize is doing anything.
This seems like a driver bug. Is there ANY way to make the Original Sound silent so that only the signal passed through the Normalizer is heard? This worked fine in XP, but not Vista. Again, I'm using an Audigy 4. Thanks,?J.Message Edited by JReality on 05-29-20070:2 AM

  • Keepin original sounds of videos

I just did my first DVD movie br using various video clips from my digital camera. I also added a music track. However, I am not able to hear the sounds of the video recordings
When I play the mini movie I made I can only hear the sound track
How can I hear both music and original sounds?
    thanks

you can change the colume of each track individually. When you are looking at the timeline as opposed to the clip viewer, if you click on the particular (audio or video) clip there is a window at the bottom that says "clip voume" and you can adjust the slider to a better volume.
I usually have music down in the 20s so that the audio from the video can be heard.

Hi, Could i connect a JBL audio and here by the 2 ways, jbl and original sound of the mac, tks...

JBL makes many different speakers.    And there are many different kinds of iMac PPC.     The G5 has mini-Toslink audio (supporting up to 5.1 DTS sound), and the G4 has a special digital audio port for which most speakers don't have an adapter.  Apple though did make some globe like speakers to put on either side of that iMac that connected via that digital audio port.
Otherwise you are left with line-level output through the headphone port of the iMac G4 or G3, which means you need amplified speakers and standard minijack RCA connector.
