Restoring Photos to Iphone 4
Ok, so I accidently ended up restoring my Iphone today (good news, I had backed it up to Icloud shortly before this, so all was not lost). however, now that it is putting stuff back on the phone, not all of my photos are there. It said "syncing - of - " and that was it. And no more appeared. Is there some way to go in and have icloud restore the photos to the phone without doing a whole other restore? Most of the photos are elsewhere, but its more of an annoying than anything else, and I'd rather just know.

I pretty much answered my own question. I just left it alone long enough and eventually it ended up adding them all back on.

Your photos are gone. When you synch your phone with iPhoto, the actual picture file does not synch, rather is is a very small thumbnail file suitable for viewing on the phone, but of such small resolution that it's useless for anything other than viewing on the phone. In any case, Apple makes no way for you to retrieve these thumbnail file.
If you deleted photos from iPhoto, your only hope is if you have Time Machine or another backup that might have had those photos. Are they perhaps still in the "Trash" within the iPhoto app? -
I have an iPhone 4S. I just had to restore from an iCloud backup to fix a problem.
Unfortunately I didn't have Photo Stream sync set up because I didn't want to use up all my storage space with the many photos I take). So I wasn't expecting to get them back.
But when I look in iTunes, the bar at the bottom which tells you how much space your phone is using says I have 1.89 GB of space used by photos - about 220 photos.
Is it possible to get at those photos and get them back onto my phone?I pretty much answered my own question. I just left it alone long enough and eventually it ended up adding them all back on.

SO my iphone 3G is just really messed up over time I saw it expanding but didn't think of it until last week when I looked at it and it was completely wide apart I'm so frustrated. Is there anyway I can restore my pictures or is there a small chip where all the pictures go to on the phone so I can take it in and get my photos back. Is there anyway I can get my photos back it's like the battery of the phone expanded and tore it apart.
If the device has been used as designed, the user would have been regularly copying them from the device to the computer as with any digital camera.
Backups of iDevices are only for restoring to an iDevice. -
Restoring photos from Iphone 4
I backed up my computer last week using an external hard drive, and for some reasons the pictures I had recently added to my computer are gone. It almost looks like my computer reverted to an older iphoto backup. However, the new pictures are on my Iphone because I synced it before this backup. Is there anyway I can get these pictures back using my iphone? Thanks!
To add on to my question, I have checked my photo stream and they are not there, I think. It because when I deleted the photos it deleted them everywhere.

I recently had to swap out my iphone 4s and I am having problems restoring photos and videos from icloud. When I restored my phone from icloud, half of my pics and videos have been deleted, the pics that were restored on my phone are very blurry, and the videos won't play. I get a message on my phone that says " the URL you are requesting is not found on this server". I have erased and reset my phone twice, but every time I do it, more pics and videos are deleted. I have backed up to icloud and iphoto, however, some of the pics are no longer on iphoto either. Is there someway to get the videos to play on my phone again? Make the photos not as blurry as they are now and to restore the pics and videos that have been lost? I really would love to have them back, this phone is supposed to be the best and right now it doesn't seem to be. Please help if you can.
I too have noticed that once i restored from iCloud. Pictures blurry and videos wont play!

How do I break the loop of restoring photo albums on my iPhone 4S?
Hello one and all,
First of all thank you for reading this, I really hope someone out there can point me in the right direction. I have synced my iPhone in iTunes and all has gone well. HOWEVER when I go to Photos on the phone it shows the camera roll and I get a message saying "Restoring". The phone then begins to build albums I do not have set to synchronise.
Background:
I did have multiple albums set to synchronise in iTunes but I have since switched off the synchronising for photos in iTunes. I got the warning about deleting those photos from my phone and elected to go ahead and delete those photos from the phone. All went without a hitch and iTunes showed the phone as having 51 photos. This tallies with the contents of the camera roll. Perfect.
When I eject my iPhone and enter the Photos option I see my camera roll only. Lovely. After a couple of seconds however I get the message "Restoring" and albums start reappearing. I have tried restarting iTunes and performing a restart of the phone (not just off and on again). I have disconnected the USB cable between the two while restarting. Still I cannot get rid of this fascist restoring process. In the end as a precaution I switched on photo syncing in iTunes and set it to selected folders only. I selected a folder I had just created. A folder with nothing in it. It shows this folder has 0 photos in iTunes. STILL my iPhone is restoring photo albums. I do not want >7000 photos. I want only the 51 you promised.
I don't have photo stream switched on, the phone is set to back up by USB to my MBP only and the iTunes sync shows no problems. My MBP is running the latest iTunes and OSX and my iPhone is on the latest version of iOS. I have searched on the forums and used Google: close threads but nothing addressing this issue. Please, please, please help. I know it is going to be something stupidly simple but can anyone provide a solution?

i have update and restore my wife iphone to 7.0.4 and i lost all the data what to do now? all contacts and kids photos goooone , we have the same apple ID and when i tried to restore from i cloude , i restored my contacts not her???!!!!!
Looks like you restored your backup file to her phone. If you didn't back up your wife's phone first, then the data is gone, sorry.

I was trying to sync my latest photos from iphone onto iphoto but pressed "restore" instead of "sync". Now it's erased my latest photos taken on my iphone a week ago and erased music saved in itunes library. Is there a way to find these photos and music via backup?
Thanks so much Meg. Unfortunately, iTunes is the program I use to perform syncing. I don't really have other outside options. It is also the location of the backup I would use to restore my phone, and my only way to reclaim important data. I am concerned that, since the last backup occurred when the "other" bar was only moderately huge (around 29G I think), that a backup would replicate the problem back onto my phone.
My contacts, etc. are all in address book and the calendar app on my Mac. As far as I know, iTunes is the way to get them back, but iTunes is where the problem is.
Any thoughts on this? -

If they were in your camera roll when you lasted backed up your phone, restoring the backup should recover them.

Can I recover photos on iPhone 4S not backed up on iCloud or computer when connect to iTunes error shows up on screen? My son was trying to update now it must go to restore. HELP!
If there is no backup of the device to iCloud or iTunes and the device has gone into recovery mode when trying to update, then the data is gone. If the device was connected to iTunes to do the update originally, it is possible the default backup was done, unless your son disabled it. To check to see if there is a backup, go in iTunes, click on Edit, Preferences, Devices and see if there is a backup listed for the date/time before the update was started. If he was doing the update OTA on the phone, then there is no backup. No backup, no photos.

Is there a way to restore photos deleted by accident from an iPhone?
Not unless you synched/backed up your phone with those photos already on there. In this case you can restore your phone from that backup.
Otherwise, they're gone. -
Can I retrieve photos from iphone 4 after factory restore?
I connected to my computer to back up and update my iOS. At the time I connected to my computer, it also said I needed to update my itunes. So, I updated itunes, then went ahead with downloading and installing the updated iOS. It says that my last back up was today, and now my only option is to restore to factory settings. My concern is being able to get back all of my info. Now, it shows a screen on my iphone with a USB cable and and arrow to the itunes icon.

Is it possible to restore photos on either my iphone or in iphoto after I deleted them on my iphone without realising they would be deleted from iphoto? Note that I don't have any kind of backup or iCloud??
