Restoring with Blackberry Link

Help please,
Moved to Blackberry Classic. I have groups setup in my contacts to do group text messages. When I back with Blackberry Link and then restore the Classic from the desktop the groups are removed.
Had a Bold 9900 with Balckberry desktop before and there was no problem with the groups staying in tack on a restore.
What I am I missing?

3 days ago, I updated my Q10 as prompted to the newest software (I'm in the UAE and use etisalat)
Following the update, I rebooted the phone and was faced with the dreaded blackberry 'coma' - where it reboots but then hangs at 99% or 100%
Reading some advice, I let it sit for 2 days at 100% to see if it would eventually resolved - it didn't. Battery pulls and resets etc also ineffective
I plugged it into my computer and was able to back it up via the blackberry link software. I then did a factory reset and installed the latest software (10.2.1.573, my OS version is 10.2.1.1925
The phone now boots up fine and syncs with BBerry link - but it will not restore the device. The error message I get is "restore did not complete. There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the restore. Verify that the device is turned on or connected" Rebooting the computer, reinstalling link etc, does not work, neither does only reloading part of the data.
Can anybody help, I am desperate, and currently have no way to restore and of my media or contacts!! (my plan with etisalat does not suppost blackberry protect so I don't have that) Is it true that this is a known problem with blackberry link?
I've heard of people having issues when then they use new leaked updates and then have to downgrade, because BlackBerry Link will not let you restore a backup from an OS that was made on a higher OS version. However this is not the case here - the backup file was made BEFORE the upgrade so will the the same or lower version of OS

I have the same exact problem with my Q5 I went to many phone shops but no luck ,im trying things my self I any thing worked I will let you know and please if you have a solution share it with us . I know how does it feel.

Blackberry z30 - not showing the mobile when connected with blackberry link

first when i bought the mobile z30 - my mobile was is good conditon ... suddenly today (15-1-2015) i couldnt type in my device password, mobile got struck ,then i connected my mobile with balckberry link and made a reset ... now the mobile is not upto themak....i dont feel it works as before. ...now am connecting it with blackberry link with mobile the link detects my media card in mobile and gets connected with i tbut it doesnt get connected to the mobile device...
please provide me solution.. so that i could get my mobile to old gud condition

Sorry to respond that your post is vague.
Did you do a reset to factory? It takes a day or a few days for a BB10 device to finish sync'ing and indexing and so forth after a wipe or an OS reinstall or upgrade. If performance is subpar, give it another day to see if it improves.
On the last, I may not understand. I believe you are saying you are connecting to the device with Link and the computer mounts the microSD card as a drive but not the device's onboard memory. Do you have mass storage mode enabled? If so, disable mass storage mode and try again.

Can't "reload" a Z10 with blackberry link

Hello,
I've done this many times but since october I still have the following error.
So I have a Z10 that I need to reload with blackberry link. I need the firmware to be reinstalled and most data wiped out.
I've done this many time on Z10, Q5 or Q10, it wiped the phone and updated it in the same time.
But now I still get that error.
Fist when I use "reload" it ask this.
it's normal
then when I click "get update" I got this
less normal
when I click "install" I get that error.
So now I can't use the "reload" feature and it's not devide dependant.
I tried and 3 different computer and 4 other blackberry.

I finally found a solution : autoloader!
Even if you have to be carefull about the file you launch, it's exactly what I wanted, an update with a wipe.

Can't Reload (restore) my Q10 with Blackberry Link !!!

Yesterday, I tried to use the security wipe feature to clean my device but it took too much time and then I pulled out the battery. Then, the device showed a message on the screen to connect it to the Pc.
I used these steps below to reload my device
1.connect my device to the PC
2.run the blackberry link software
3.go to the settings and reload
4.the blackberry link found my Q10 and asked me to restore it to its factory settings
5.a message shows"checking for blackberry device software update.." and the LED on the device turned green
6.last message shows"There are no Blackberry device software update available" with close option only!!
7.when I press on the close it goes back again and show the message which means I need to connect it to the PC
So is that means I can't retort my device if it is up to date !!

Z30 issues with Blackberry Link

I recently upgraded from a Z10 to a Z30.
Issue #1
When I transferred all info from the Z10 to the Z30 using Blackberry Link it changed the name of the new Z30 from the name that it came with to a name of my Z10. Is this normal? Can I change it back to the name it had originally without confusing Blackberry Link? Does it even matter?

When I connected my Z10 to my computer and opened Blackberry Link there was a dropdown menu along the botton of the frame and one of the choices was "back up". Now with the Z30 that dropdown menu menu box is not there but along the left side that says that my Z30 is connected and one of the menu choices is "backup and restore". Is this the same thing?

My Z10 died after restoring from BlackBerry-Link

Z10 died after restoring thru BlackBerryLink on desktop How do I bring back life to my z10 which died totally when I've reset successfully using BlackBerry-Link; which completely died after reset (just mentioning it as successful operation because I do remember the bblink saying my z10 was completed restoring) ... But just afterwards as I disconnect from the computer it came nothing frown emoticon No nothing now as if there is no battery at all; And I think it's not because of depleted battery, if so then at-least it would have given as of the the cross-sign on display as of I used to have on my earlier versions of old blackberry !!! At first it came www.bberror.com/bb10-0015and when I install bblink on my computer and restored it thru bblink and updated only now I remember is I saw green solid light on my z10. Do you know how much guts I need to go inside my house specially my room where exactly downstairs to my room got cracked due to the massive earthquake here in Nepal !!! And now I'm completely **bleep** up and got isolated ... How on the earth I say I'm proud to be BlackBerry user ... I tried to look for genuine service centre here in Kathmandu but can't find a single and I think how on earth I just give it to repair to the maintainance here they lack zero knowledge of English language and only are after androids and iOS !!! PLEASE HELP ME BRINGING BACK LIFE TO MY Z10 WHICH IS IN COMMA and doesn't prefer to blink the led and light the display ; not anything it does !!! Problem synching Z30 with Blackberry Link

Hi there,
I'm having problems synching my Z30 calendar and contacts with my Blackberry Link. I'm getting the following error message:
"Sync was unsuccessful
CPreferencesManager: Configuration Value for /Preferences/Account_1_65538/SyncAccountld_2not set in Transconfig.xml for translator Rimbb"

Z30 won't link with blackberry link

I have reinstalled blackberry link several time now, each time it will link up the Z30, but a few days later my Z30 will connect to the computor but Blackberry link doesn't connect. This is not the only issue but I can't fix any of the others if Link won't be consistant in hooking up each and every time. any suggestions

Same problem here...has been for a week.
Been on the phone with Blackberry 3 times....
I have tried everything, literally everything....
it shouldn't be that difficult....

Help with Blackberry Link

Hello - I just upgraded to the Q10 from the Bold 9000, and I am having problems getting the BlackBerry Link to work properly. I successfully downloaded the application (Version 1.1.1 build 13) to my MacBook, but it does not recognize my Q10 when I use the USB cable to plug into the Mac - the tab for it never appears at the bottom of the screen. It only shows up if I select "Show Disconnected Devices". It advises me to reset the Q10 to the factory settings, but I will lose all of the vacation photos and other data that I have added to the device since I bought it.
So, in a nutshell, I can't back up my data because the BlackBerry Link won't work properly, and if I reset the phone I lose it all. BlackBerry Protect no longer backs up my data for me. I could e-mail all of my photos to myself, but that seems to be a tedious last resort. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your device connecting to BlackBerry Link.
Disconnect your device from your Mac and restart your Mac.
On your device, go to Settings>Storage and Access and ensure Access to Storage shows USB Connection as Connect to Mac. Keep scrolling to the bottom and ensure USB Mass Storage is Off.
Launch BlackBerry Link then connect your device. Does it now detect in Link? Does the lightening bolt appear to indicate your device is charging?

Q10 task synchronisation with Blackberry Link

I wonder when Blackberry Link will enable such a basic feature like synchronising tasks and memos via USB... Even my five years old Nokia C7 was able to do that, even whireless... Is there anabody from Blackberry here? You even can't get in touch with this company...

Z10 Problems with Blackberry Link

Hi,
I have had my Z10 for more than a year now and I've never needed to transfer files from it to my computer until now. So, I plugged in the USB and downloaded Blackberry Link and it downloaded quick and easily. When I open Blackberry Link, it says Blackberry Z10 and then 'connected' underneath. But when I go to videos, music, files etc. under my device name, it says "There are no pictures/videos/files in your library". What do I do? Ive looke at so many troubleshooting pages and everything but nothing helped. So any help would be appreciated.

On your computer open My Computer and see if you have a Y:\\ and Z:\\ drive labeled "BlackBerry."
All your files will be in there and you can drag/drop them wherever you need them on your PC.

Restoring backup files to Blackberry Classic with Blackberry Link

Please help...I have backed up my old Blackberry 9000 and am now thrying to restore the data to my new Blackberry Classic. I have followed all of the instructions and I get to the restore options part, it shows the backup file but the Restore button does not highlight for me to click on? Is there something I am missing?

How you are trying to restore.
If you are trying to restore through RMAN then use SET command with the new name.

Connecting Z10 with BlackBerry Link on PC

Hello fellow BB users!
I am having troubles with Z10 to BB Link connection. The problem lies in Windows Firewall. Because we are using our devices in enterprise environment the firewall cannot be disabled. Can anyone tell me how to configure Windows Firewall? What IPs/ports need to be open?

From all I know, it is not possible to extract specific files from Link to your PC.

I am having issues Backing up my data, and synching No devise data can by backed up - application data, media, devise settings and loacl calander / contacts.Previously had no trouble???I have tried all the tips from Help and re-signed in - no luck.....

Can you confirm if you have automatic sync set to On or Off by following these steps here. If these checkboxes are checked this may be why the synchronization is occruing automatically. Let us know.
