Restoring with usb = issue

Hello,
After wanting to restore my ipod, it crashed with "error", then i tried to plug it in again, the apple sign appeard few times, then after restarting the ipod, the "you can disconnect" sign appeard. Now when i plug my ipod to the computer with the usb plug, i go under restore, then it ask's me if i really want to restore and an error message appears saying" connect ipod with firewire cable, to restore" what can i do? is that normal? taking in account that i dont have a firewire plug.
thank you for your time

Kcbrig,
I apologize that you have not been able to get status.   I've got your case VM PM and will work with you to get an update tomorrow.
I realize that since you have already sent the system in for service, doing problem determination here is somewhat pointless.
Others have complained here about the right side USB port, usually as it relates to a specific device not working there, but working fine on the ports on the left.
What type of USB device was it?  Did you try it on the left ports?   Was it a powered or unpowered USB device?  USB 1.0 or 2.0?

  • A505 - S6992 with USB issues

Just bought the Satellite A505-S6992 about 3 weeks ago before deploying to Kuwait. The 2 USB slots on the right side won't read any devices as USB 2.0. I get the message saying that this device can perform faster if it is attached to a USB 2.0 port. The single port on the right functions correctly. I've contacted support and they've had me update and reset the bios, remove and reinstall the drivers. They say the next step is to re-image to computer, and if that doesn't work then they can in a service order to send it in.
Since I am currently overseas and this is my only working personal computer here, I would like avoid re-imaging or sending it back to the states to be serviced at all cost. So, if anyone has any other things I could try, I would gladly do so.

Go into Device Manager and uninstall ALL of the USB ports and deviced then restart Windows.  WIndows should automatically re-install all of them.  This fixes this type of problem a lot of the time.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • HP ENVY 6t has many issues with USB headphone, Bluetooth and more serious issue

HP ENVY 6t doesn't work with USB headphone, unfortunately. could u let me know how to fix it?
Bluetooth mouse has been working for a day, it suddenly stopped working. Having checked the PC bluetooth connection, which said "Working properly".   Could you let me know how to re-connect, or re-work?
"Not complete shut-down" blue screen issue right after receiving the HP PC when I closed display to be in sleep mode.
I see the "Safe mode" "...." or "Normal mode" screen always.
The HP PC is not stable UNFORTUNATELY.
Even if just brand new HP PC, there seems to be many issues.

I would recommend using this document for your mouse: http://goo.gl/XDRRy
And using this document to troubleshoot your headphones issue: http://goo.gl/hV9fu
Most of the time with USB headphones, you have to download the driver from the manufacturer before they will work properly.

  • Connectivity Issues with USB 3 ports on macbook pro

Hi,  I have a zoom r24 which is no longer working as an audio interface with my new macbook pro.  I have read a lot about issues with USB 2 devices not being compatible with USB 3 ports on the macs. This seems to be midi as well as audio devices.  Can anyone recommend or point me to a list of supported devices for both audio and midi which are guaranteed to work with a late 2013 macbook pro retina display.  I cant afford a thunderbolt device.  Thanks steve

Just a wild thought here, but have you tried inserting a powered USB 2.0 hub between the MacBook and the interface?

Restore the iPhone when connected to iTunes by cable.

Has your computer ever been used to jailbrake or downgrade (Tinyumbrella) any iPhone?

  • Thinkpad X1 Mouse Issues with USB 3.0 Dock and WIndows 8.1

I have a new X1 (3444-CUU) that I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1. When I connected to the Thinkpad USB 3.0 Dock, there was an automatic updated of the firmware on the docking station.
Everything seems to be working except issues with my Keyboard and Mouse.Periodically, the mouse will disappear of the keyboard will simply stop working. Most recently, it was as if the delete key was stuck causing it to delete all my email (actually a feature I liked but unfortunately, can't allow).
Is there a known issue with wireless keyboard?

I have a possibly similar issue that seems to be related to the keyboard dock. In my case this is with logitec unified receiver, but what I found may help you narrow the issue's root cause.
I found that after a reboot, the dock's USB ports (bothh SS or USB 3.0) will not recognize logitech's unified receiver. Even though it is Windows reporting it, it seems to be related to the hardware. What I do to have minimally invasive 'functioning' system is to undock the Helix (use as tablet). This makes the genuine USB 2.0 port of the tablet accessible. I then plug the receiver into that port and wait until the mouse is recognized. Then remove the receiver, re-dock the tablet on the keyboard dock and plug the receiver into the dock's usb 3.0 port. Then everything works.
That seems to somehow circumvent part of the refreshing of the USB connected devices and allows them to work correctly.
I wonder if that addresses your issue. Of course I am opening another thread and ticket with that issue (will post a link after that)

  • Incompatability Issues  MAC OS 10.4.10 With USB headphones

I bought iListen so I could type more quickly as I have some disability issues and type very slowly. I had a lot of trouble training iListen. I bought a package which included a Platronics USB headset and USB Mic fromthe Apple online store. After many issues I was able to find out from Plantronics that MAC OS 10.4.10 has some compatability issues with USB Microphones. After making sure the System Preferences are correctly chosen in Sound and Speech Panes you can follow the steps below, I hope this helps some others to avoid this frustration.
The following applies only to Macintosh computers running Mac OS X 10.4.10.
If you experience no transmit (i.e. the mic doesn't seem to work), please try the following:
    1) Make sure your Plantronics microphone is plugged into an open USB port on your computer.
    2) Launch "Audio MIDI Setup.app." (You will find this application in Applications> Utilities.)
3). In System Settings, select "Plantronics Headset" as the default input.
4). In "Properties For:" select "Plantronics Headset."
5). In the bottom right area of the window, uncheck "Mute."

I have had communication from MacSpeech which indicated they actually gave the solution to Plantronics and were aware of the issues. I did not realize that there was an issue that was not with me because it only happened some of the time that my computer muted the microphone and resorted to the built in mic! Hope this helps someone else

I just updated my phone and it is now stuck with usb cable and itunes logo and itunes on my computer says I have to restore.  Can I get my phone working again without loosing my photos?

There is no other way than to plug into a computer to restore the phone. You can use another computer to do so, but in case you did not back up to iCloud your data and settings will be gone.
Follow this article to connect in recovery mode:

  • Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with USB 3.0 - 170W causing uab/wireless keyboard issues

W530 here, win 7 64 bit, 32g ram. When plugged into the Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with USB 3.0 - 170W, all external keyboards (wired/wireless) don't work. Keyboards appear to be properly recognized devices and drivers are installed, but I can't type using these keyboards and am limited to the laptop's keyboard. Any insight would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jan C.

    Hi, Jan C.,
I did some research and found this thread by a user named Sssith, who was experiencing a similar issue with using a keyboard with a docking station. His issue stemmed from the USB hub drivers not being correctly installed. I would recommend updating these drivers and your BIOS just to make sure. The USB drivers can be found here, and the BIOS here. If neither of these work, then you could try Sssith's method of removing the drivers and letting Windows install the generic ones.
    Hope it helps,
    Adam

  • IOS7 issue with USB DACs?

Ive been running my iPad3 to an Audiolabs MDAC USB DAC via the CCK on ios5 and then 6 for awhile and its been working fine.
When using FlacPlayer or iPeng apps or itunes Home Sharing and hi-res FLACs/ALACs I would get 24/96 playback with no issues.
Since iOS7, with those same apps, while the dac detects a 24/88 or 24/96 signal, and it plays it, there is a white noise/stutter every other second in the tracks, though all 16bit and even 24/44 and 24/48 material is fine.
Is anyone else experiencing this since update to ios7.
Disappointed as this is something that used to work.

If I may act as a "Devils Advocate"... taking what you report as an OS issue, if that were so, it would suggest that any books created since iOS7 was introduced and had a movie a intro...would be reporting the issue here weeks ago.
I have just opened and checked three of my books with video intro..and none have any problems. I used iPad 2,3 and mini to check, and all show and allow manual control of the video.
Assuming your video is in  the acceptable format..
Have you tried with default book from the template chooser, to recreate this apparent problem?
When you dropped in your video, did the application pop up the reprocessing message?
My (albeit often flawed) assumption is that your problems may arise from the video itself in some way.
Another issue which seems to affect some and not others is... using Preview to test a book. Advice suggests exporting the book and adding to iTunes > add to library and sync.
I prefer to export and use Dropbox, which has an option to open in iBooks in the iPad.
Although it may not be relevant, all my books have portrait mode disabled.

my new iphone 4 is stuck with "USB connect to itunes".  I put it in recovery mode last night.  Itunes recognizes the phone and says it's in recovery mode, but when I do a restore, nothing changes.

it says "itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode.  you must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes."  I click OK
then I click the restore button
Then the box says "Are you sure you want to restore the iphone to it's factory settings?  all of your.....etc."  I click Restore and Update
then it goes into software update
at the end of the software update it says "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode...."
All this time, the screen of the iphone stays on with USB to Itunes
I might add that while the phone was in it's first attempt at recovery mode, it was accidentally unplugged.
    any suggestions?

  • Compatibility issue with USB Hub?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A505 laptop.  I added a Rocketfish 4 USB Hub and started having problems.  Now when I put my laptop into SLEEP mode, about half the time when I try to wake it, it's unresponsive.  I've tried all kinds of things, but the only way I can get the screen back on is to unplug the USB Hub.  Thoughts?

There are FireWire printers, but these tend to be expensive specialized printers, like large format printers. Most consumer printers these days are USB.
    There are FireWire flash drives
    http://www.kanguru.com/fireflash.html
But they are expensive compared to USB flash drives. There are also FireWire memory card readers, but again, more expensive. In your case, if you really need a high-speed flash drive, you have to get a FireWire flash drive because your iMac USB 1.1 ports are so slow. You can even boot your Mac from it, if it's big enough to hold the OS. For people with USB 2.0, it's much cheaper and almost as fast as FireWire to get a USB flash drive.
I don't know of any FireWire input devices (keyboard, mouse, etc.).
USB hubs are pretty cheap, even the powered ones. This one from Belkin is only about $20 after the $10 rebate (and it has seven ports).

  • Froze upgrading ios 6 on connect to itunes screen not recognized by itunes and wont charge no power with usb

The guy at the Apple store said "Now thats a Brick" "I've never seen or heard of one this bad!"
I bought the phone with little to no info on it. I was told that it froze after several failed attempts at loading IOS 6.
Now... It will only turn on if plugged into wall, it will show black, then apple, then "connect to itunes" screen and thats it. As soon as I unplug, it dies. If I try power off, it turns back on and freezes in same place. Reset, same. And unabale to Factory restore cuz I cant unplug from wall. Im asuming its in dfu, nothing works.
When connected to USB,no power, no response from pc (win xp) or Itunes. Although... I swear I heard pc beap once as though it "found new hardware" but on inspection, Nothing.
My theories: 1) Battery is hooped. ( but I was told it worked fine a month ago) The longest I have had it charging is 4hrs and i died as soon as removed.
                        2) VCC conductor. Would explain USB issue.
                        3) The phone was "jailbroke" and IOS6 did not like that. Isnt there programs to reverse this?
                        4) IOS6 interupted, then phone got factory restored. Is it possible there is No "OS" on it?
I never touched an Iphone untill 2 days ago, and I have read and tried every troubshooting solution I could find. If I can fix this I'll be an expert!
    Any help appreciated.
