Restoring without Backup

Hello all, I have my iWeb site published to my own domain. I have the iWeb files published to an external hard drive.
I am not renewing .mac this December so I can no longer use backup.
If my computer crashes and I lose those iWeb files how can I import them or restore them to iWeb.
I know that the actual site will still be online, but for ease of editing I would want to be able to import the published site back to iWeb.
What all do I need to copy to save all my iWeb settings manually or is there a better alternative?
Mike

Hi Michael,
You must back up your iWeb Domain file, found in this path:
Users/username/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain
Without this file you cannot do anything with your sites in iWeb, as published files cannot be imported back into the application. Put this Domain file on your external HD, burn it to a disk, place it on a thumbdrive or an iPod; just make sure to put it somewhere safe.

  • How to recover photos after restore without backup?

    Hello
Basically, a couple weeks ago my iPod 4th gen died.
I went out to buy a new charger. This charger worked for a while, but then stopped.
Every time I plugged it in, it would show me the screen that indicates
that I have to connect my iPod to iTunes.
So, I bought a new charger and used it to connect to iTunes,
only to find out that my iPod was in Recovery Mode!
The only option was to restore it. I tried to back it up, however the options
were all greyed out. A pop-up indicated that I could get my contacts and what not
back after the restore, so I did it.
After the restore, my iPod went back to the factory settings.
I was happy, thinking that there was a backup of all my photos saved to my computer.
Yet when I check iTunes, I could not restore the backup!
I am honestly so devastated. I could care less about the contacts and apps, but I had
pictures of my younger cousins and family collected for over 4 years.
I'd really love to get these back. I tried using those recovery programs, but nothing
worked for me! I also tried to get a back up from an older computer I used, but it said that I'd
never done a back up on that computer.
This whole situation has upset me, I'm not sure of what to do now.
I just really want those photos back.
Thank you for reading, sorry that this is so long.
Any solutions? (iPod 4th gen, iOS 6.1.6)

    I think this is because
I backed up a long time ago, and the iTunes update may have erased the back up?
No, updating iTunes does not delete any iOS device backups.

  • Is there anyway to restore lost game data and achievement from the Game Centre after doing a full restore without backup?

I recently restored my iPad to fix issues with the Facebook account attached to my iPad clearing all saved data and I didn't backup with iCloud because I wanted to get rid of the Facebook account that I could no longer access and remove or attach with games. Game achievements are shown in the Game Centre but when I play the app it starts at the very beginning of the app with no progress is there anyway to retrieve my progress?

    No. Not without a backup.

  • Control file restore without backup

    I installed oracle 10g
Backed it up with rman ... backup database
Now I lost the control file
With out auto backup of control file ..how can i restore my control file and get it in sync with my database file

    Hi,
As you stated as the below things
    I installed oracle 10g
Backed it up with rman ... backup database Does the backup is taken is of full backup, then you can restore the controlfile. Basic thing, when ever the System.dbf is backup implicity the control file backup is done, don't forget, then is no need to set autobackup on looking into this case.
try to restore as from backup, sa I stated above, your issue will be solved, remember if any strucutal changes are carried out after your backup, then those can not be recovered based on backup controlfile (like addition of new datafiles)

  • How can i restore old backup without deleting my existing data

how can i restore old backup without deleting my existing data. unfortunately i have deleted few of my old photos and restored them from my old backup. i got the deleted photos but lost my recent data and photos. how can i get those too.

You cannot. However, if your back up is through iTunes on your computer and you do an internet search for something like "iPhone BackUpExtractor", I believe there is software that will help you access the SQL database that is your back up. You may be able to pull out what you need.
Once you restore from a back up, any data that was on the phone is gone.

how to restore iphon-without backup, after it synchronization from ipod

    Thanks Eric,
After inserting the original DVD I installed OSX and after reboot I had a working computer.
There was no opportunity to restore the TM backup. however when I rebooted from the
DVD again I saw that possibility from a menu of the install utility.
I ran through the restore over night (8 hours) and when I woke up, I had my computer back!
    Thanks for helping me out.

    Sorry Raj,
If you did not back up your information, and you have now restored your phone, then your information is not recoverable.

  • After setting up my new 4S restoring a backup of my old one, I've renamed the old 3GS in iTunes and changed the content, deleting all my important stuff. Now I'm syncing the old one to my PC. Can I then backup my NEW 4S to  iCloud without messing up all-?

After setting up my new 4S, restoring a backup of my old 3GS, I've renamed the old 3GS in iTunes and then I've changed the content, deleting all my important stuff. Now I'm syncing the old one to my PC. Can I then after that safely backup my NEW 4S - which now holds all my company information and stuff - to  iCloud without risking to lose it?

    Hi Mcchen425,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
As a precaution, I would suggest backing up your iPhone to your computer via iTunes as well as iCloud.  Then you can delete one of your two backups.  The article below will explain all of your options for deleting data or backups from your iCloud storage.

In the simplest sense, archiving a file means making a copy that you never change and never discard. You already know how to do that.
iPhoto has built-in archival features, in the sense that it saves all versions of an image that you've modified. As long as you have adequate backups, you don't necessarily have any reason to archive an iPhoto library. If you want to delete images from the working library but still have access to them in case you change your mind, then you do need to archive those images. I don't have a specific suggestion as to how you should do that. You might post a question in the iPhoto forum.

  • I restored my iPhone 3GS without backup I lost everything that I had on iOS photos, contacts and messages. All I have are the apps and files I had before I upgraded to iOS. Is it possible to get back all that I have lost?

Hi all, I restored my iPhone 3GS without backup and it took all recent messages, contacts, photos and videos. All I am left with is the content I had before I upgraded to iOS. Can these lost files be retrieved? Please help.

Look... I don't have my crystal ball handy. I don't know how or if you had your backup set up. You don't adequately describe what you're missing. Stating that "All I am left with is the content I had before I upgraded to iOS" doesn't tell me anything at all... When did you upgrade? Apparently, you had a backup from that time, and when you restored, you restored from that backup. If you had no other backups in between then and now, then anything since that time is gone. Permanently.

hi,existing i'm using Iphone 3.i hv forgotten that i use the my laptop to plug before. then when i plug in my iphone 4 the use name detect with Ipone 3 user name. then it start to syn ...at the end i lost my photo in my iphone 4 without backup. can u show me how to restore my photo pls. appreacite for your help!

Photos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
When connecting a new iPhone with iTunes that was/is used for syncing with another iPhone, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or set up the iPhone as a new iPhone. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with the iPhone's backup and you chose to transfer the backup for your iPhone 3G to your iPhone 4 which replaced the Camera Roll comtents on your iPhone 4 with the Camera Roll contents on your 3G or that are incuded with the backup for your 3G. Had you selected to set up your iPhone 4 as a new iPhone instead, the Camera Roll contents that were on your iPhone 4 would not have been touched.
If you didn't import the photos that were in the Camera Roll with your iPhone 4 before choosing to transfer the backup for your iPhone 3G, the photos are gone and cannot be recovered. iTunes did what you instructed it to do.
