Is there any way to restrict access to particular websites from the MAC OS X 10.3 server directly?

Restrict in what way?
Limit access to specific client IP addresses?
Require a username/password to access content?
The former can be done, but requires manual tweaking of the config file (and may block subsequent editing via Server Admin).
For the latter, use Server Admin -> (server) -> Web -> Sites -> (site) -> Realms to define a realm, then specify the users that can access the directory.
Note that latter doesn't prevent someone sniffing the network to gain credentials to view the content - for that you need to couple the site with SSL encryption.

I need to restrict the below website that maybe a virus. It keeps making itself my homepage and loading as a trusted site even though I never set it up. It did the same thing in Internet Explorer browser. However, there I was able to restrict access. How do I want to restrict access in Firefox?

Why cant I access 1 particular website unless I bypass my RV082?

I'm not very saavy on these matters but here's my story. I was able to access a certain website thru my router up until Jan 4th. Since then , the only way to do so is by connecting directly to my modem and bypassing my router. I have 3 computers on my network and ,depending on which browser I use I get different error messages..i.e..connection has been reset; cannot find website or it may be down etc . Things I have tried (or have had others try). Access site from DMZ on router; disabled firewall;cloned address; tried accessing from hotshield;rebooted router (did NOT do hard reset by pushing button on router);Im assuming that if I can access site hooking directly to modem that the computers themselves are not an issue and the problem is either with the site or the router. Someone mentioned that if you try to access a site from different computers at the same time on the same address they may block your MAC address..not sure if this is true. I contacted Cisco support but being the router is over 2 years old they cant give me any support even if I offer to pay for it.They said something about tracing packets or checking internal logs but thats way above me at this point unless someone held my hand. As I said Im not really saavy at this but I can follow EXPLICIT instructions. Any thoughts about where to go from here greatly appreciated..john

Firefox is a 32 bit application, so make sure that you've installed the 32 bit Java program and that Firefox can find its plugins.

Safari 6.0.5 on my IMAC crashes everytime I try and load a certain website. Can anybody help me with this?

I have Safari 6.1.1 it keeps crashing when I try to access one particular website www.sportbeatfest.com I have tried Safari reset, trashed the cache as advised on another thread but it still completely freezes my Imac and I have to power off and restart. I need to access this site for some work related stuff.
Anyone got any ideas? It also doesnt work on my Iphone!

One particular website on infinite loop

Hey guys.
My mac has been giving loads of trouble in the network department recently, and this is one of them.
I used to be able to access a particular website with no problem, and suddenly I can't anymore - it seems to go on an infinite loop and the URL changes on its own. It turns into this:
www.ns.sg/nsp/web/home?_afrLoop=32790536242083&_afrWindowsMode=0&afrWindowId=nul l
and the "32790536242083" part keeps changing on its own, in a 'The Matrix' kind of manner. It never ends.
The situation:
- The site is http://ns.sg .
- It only happens on my mac, no matter what connection I'm using. Tethering on my iphone, other wireless networks, they all don't work.
- Other computers, be it windows or mac, load it fine on any connection.
- It only started happening after the site went through some 'renovation'. It's not my site though, so I have no idea.
- I'm using the very first aluminium 13", back when it was still called the MacBook - but I don't think this really matters.
- I'm on OSX 10.6.8, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
- No firewalls in place.
- Does not work on Safari, Chrome, or a newly downloaded Opera. It's probably not a browser issue.
- Pinging the site from my computer puts me in an infinite request timeout. As in:
PING ns.sg (202.6.163.65): 56 data bytes
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
Request timeout for icmp_seq 2
Request timeout for icmp_seq 3
Request timeout for icmp_seq 4
.... and it never ends. Now it's still running and I'm at

What I've tried:
- Deleting the SystemConfiguration folder. Didn't work.
- Clearing the cache. Didn't work.
- Using Onyx to fix up the internet and clearing the cache. Didn't work.
- Using a proxy website. Didn't work.
- Changing my IP address. Didn't work.
- Using OpenDNS. Didn't work.
I'm guessing this is something to do with my laptop, and not the router nor the host. I'm putting up content on the site for work and it really doesn't make sense to have to find a different computer to do so whenever I need to! PLEASE HELP ME, SOMEBODY. I'm on the verge of reformatting the computer just so I can see if THAT works.
Let me know if I need to put anymore specs up! I'm usually just googling for answers, but now I've been driven to post something. This is a big bad.

Is it a standard table ? S_TABU_DIS (Client Dependant) and S_TABU_CLI (Cross client) are the the authorization objects that controls table maintenance. With Authorization group and activity 03, you can give user access only to Display.
You can look at table TDDAT to find the authorization group of the table. If it is a custom table for which original t-code is SM30 ( You can look at SU24 to verify that) and it does not have authorization group assigned to it, then you can ask your developer to assign authorization group to the table using t-code SE54. then again make use of S_tabu_dis with activity 03 and Auth group as designed to restrict access.
Also something to look for is Note 1481950 - New authorization check for generic table access using new auth object S_TABU_NAM. Remember Bernhard talking about it.

Unable to access particular website

Hi there,
I'm wondering if BT is blocking access to a particular website. It's www.hostingreborn.com. If I try to browse, I get 'request timed out'. If I connect to the same website through my work VPN (using the VPN as default gateway) it works fine. I've also tried multiple computers in my house (various Linux & Windows boxes) with the same results.
I'm on BT Infinity using a Home Hub 3.
A ping to www.hostingreborn.com just times out. Again, ping response is fine from work (and anywhere else I try). This has been like this for at least week, perhaps more.
Any ideas?

Hi Will. Welcome to the forums.
Is this still a problem for you ? I can access the site without difficulty.
In these sorts of situations, especially as all your connected computers are the same, I recommend that you power cycle the router and equipment to get a new IP address. I.e. disconnect the broadband, remove all power and wait for a few minutes before connecting.
You can chek what IP address you have with something like :-
http://www.whatismyip.com/
to make sure that after you've reconnected you've got a different one.

I would recommend doing this at the windows level rather than in firefox since then the user cannot get around the block by using a different browser. See here:

However if you want to just block sites on firefox and leave other browsers unaffected you can use an add-on such as BlockSi.

Unable to Access Particular Websites on any browser

I am new to the Mac world and I am on AOL UK platinium broadband and yet some sites (including aol, microsoft and ebay) wont load on safari or firefox why is this :S

I have been having a similar problem for awhile now. I cannot access an airline website (americawest.com) in Safari or IE. The company support says it is a problem on my end exclusively. Today I downloaded Firefox and made that the first page I attempted to go to and it still would not load. I get the spinning wheel and then a timeout message.
I've tried connecting thru links from emails the company has sent me, from links off of other websites....nothing seems to work. I am not having this problem with any other sites.
Any suggestions???

Restrict Access to Page Issue...

My Issue:
I have implemented Restrict Access to Page dependant upon
User / Pass / Access Level.
Access Levels are 1 and 3 and are stored on my MySQL
Database.
3 = Full Admin Rights
1 = Minimal Admin Rights.
Now, Whilst the Restrict access works, when Access Level 1
attempts to display page only for Access Level 3, It's not
redirecting to the "AccessDenied.php" page... instead a blank white
page is being displayed and unless i press Back, it just stays
blank and doesnt redirect.

As I said in my original reply, the problem was almost
certainly caused
by an error that you couldn't see because the display of
errors is
turned off for security reasons. The Restrict Access to Page
server
behavior uses session_start(), which must come before there
is any
output to the browser. "Output" includes new lines or
whitespace outside
PHP tags. There is almost certainly an extra line at the end
of
con1.php, which would prevent the session from starting. In
turn, that
would generate an error, resulting in your blank page.
The problem is closely related to the "headers already sent"
error
message that confuses most PHP beginners. Read about it here:

By the way, it sounds as though you are testing everything on
a remote
server, rather than testing locally before deploying to a
remote server.
That's a very bad idea, particularly if the display of errors
is turned
off. You should test files in a safe, local environment with

deploying to a live server. If you're testing locally, make
sure that
error_reporting in php.ini is set to E_ALL, and that
display_errors is on.

I have created an identity with that particular server, an access policy linked to a particular identity and custom URL category for the specific website. But still, the

Since yesterday clicking on a link in an email message firefox doesn't open a new tab with that particular website.

I am using Firefox 3.6.13 on a 2009 Mac Pro computer (OSX 10.6.6). Up until yesterday when I clicked on a link in an email message Firefox opened a new tab and switched to that particular website. Since yesterday Firefox doesn't do that. I have Firefox set up as my default browser. I tried to change my default browser to Safari, then everything worked fine. Clicking on a link in a message a new tab has opened in Safari with that particular website. My problem is, that I like Firefox a bit more than Safari and I'd like to know what to do to restore that functionality to Firefox.

It's a good idea to try disabling Flash completely and see whether the problem continues. If it does, then my guess is incorrect. To test that, open this tab:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category
