Hello,
Option 1: create a separate role and assign to those set of users.
Option2: if its custom developed iview(PAR/Webdynpro java), by using (UME service AP)java code we can find those users and we can restrict content of iview(create a uinique group and while executing iview , if the user belongs to this group show a message u don't have authorization to execute this iview).
To me option is good and easy.

I'm having a requirement and want to know is there any way to solve it by configuration:
I have to deliver the products in multiples of 5.i have activated this in the material master and it functions properly and issues a warning message when i change the quantity while picking in delivery so i have converted this message into ERROR message but my problem is i have to activate it only for a particular set of customers..is there any way to achieve it ..i have tried it by tick mark "switching off rounding" in customer master but this error message is still there for these customers also .

I have gone through your suggestions but it didn't help me a lot..I am able to trigger rounding profile for a particular set of customers but this thing can be achieved only in sales Order , i am unable to do this at Delivery level, at delivery level system is allowing me to change the quantity irrespective of the rounding profile.
Can anyone suggest me how to achieve this at delivery level.
I have gone through Logistics - General>Control for Quantity Optimizing>Assign Control Profiles
here also , application for triggering of control profile is given only for sales order.

Looking for a particular set of features

Does anyone know what Abode product will allow me to write with a stylus (on a Sony tablet) on a PDF and at the same time redord audio. And then allow it to be played back. I am math a teacher and I would like to upload an example question (PDF) for my students into a program. then i would like to be able to complete the example by writing with my touch screen and i would like some audio to acompany it. Then i want to save this and post on my class web page.

Check for the fiscal year variant value for that fisal period 003/2007in the cube is it same as that of othertwo values of the fiscal period.
May be at the report level or at the cube level you have restricted the values of the fisacl variant for a particular value and for that variant value there is no fiscal period of 003/2007.
Also it may be possible that your report key figures are restrcited year to date... that is till current fiscal period only through some other way.. and thats why you can only see data till current fiscal.

How to restrict Option values for a particular metadata in profile checkin

How to restrict Option values (drop down) for a particular metadata in profile checkin-
Metadata field Color is having options dropdown values (stored in table/views)-
Display name - Blue, Value=1
Display name - Red, Value=2
Display name - Yellow, Value=3
Display name - Green, Value=4
Display name - Black, Value=5
For a particular profile checkin form, for the metadata field Color I want the dropdown value consist of only top three options
Display name - Blue, Value=1
Display name - Red, Value=2
Display name - Yellow, Value=3
But this should be done on profile level only, should not impact the standrad checkin form and other profile checkin forms.
Please help me if any one having any suggestion to implement the above secnario

Into the rule containing the Color metadata, you can restrict the values of the list.
In "Has restricted list and pane", list the values 1, 2 and 3 (new line for each value) :

How do I restrict a purchase order document type to be created for a particular material type.
For eample PO document type NB should allow to create for materials with the material type ROH only and restrict the other material types by issuing an error.

This is not directly achievable in std. You will have to implement the check in a user exit, e.g. the BAdI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST method PROCESS_ITEM.
But why this strange reqmt? Maybe there's another solution whuch would keep you in std?

Bex Error for a particular set of data

Hi Gurus,
    I have strange problem going on with my report, i have report which has variable
    for fiscal period (we can enter like 001/2007), the reports runs fine for 001/2207
    and 002/2007 but fails to run for 003/2007. i have data in the cube for that
    fiscal period.
    Please suggest a solution for this.

Restrict posting period only a limited set of users using Auth Group

Hi all,
Can someone help me in restricting posting period to only a limited number of users?
Currently OB52 settings look like below:
From Per.1 Year To Period From per.2 Year To Period
7 2009 8 8 2008 8
My requirement is:
I want to only few users to post in the 7th period and all others to post in the 8th period.
I know this can be done via authorization group: Can someone please help me with the steps invloved in solving the same?

I have added F_BKPF_BUP object manually in the test role and assigned 0002 auth group in it.
I have created auth group 0002 and assigned table T001B in SE54.
Auth group 0002 is then assigned in the OB52 at the last column. This should restrict the posting for period 1 which i need to restrict for some users.
Now as per the logic, if we dont assign any auth group, users should not be able to post for that period. But in my case user is able to post successfully via F-02.
Please help me as we need to implement this before month end.

How to disable Transactional Iview for a particular user in portal

Hi Experts,
I have a scenario
i have created a user group for all the employees and assigned all the transactional roles to it, now the issue is they wanted to disable the Transactional Iview to particular user for a certain period and enable it later on, how is it possible?
As per my knowledge we have to assign that particular Role individually to all the user, instead of user group and make the iview invisible when required.
Instead of this is there any other Easy Method that i can approach the issue easily?

Hi Siva,
You can have two types of groups: one Group with users having access to transactional iview and another devoid of this access.
You can assign users to group with transactional role and vice versa. By the way of user groups, we will have more control over the transaction role access.

How to restrict Availability check for a particular storage location

As per the Business requirement, System should not consider the stock in a particular storage location.
while sales order creation, system should not confirm the requested delivery date based on the stock available in that particular storage location.

as you said correctly this storage location is there in MMSC for the article which we are using in Sales Order.
I have tried to delete this storage location but system is not allowing to do so.
I could not understand, from where this storage location is being determined. we have not mentioned any where in article master data.

Ex:
sales order A should be used in delhi region,where as sales order B should be used for outside delhi,though the sale area is same for both the order type.

I have a requirement . I need to restric user fro VA01/VA02/VA03 if the user has role and Sales order customer group is related to a particular group .
Do we have a Function module to get a role for a user or can we write a code as authorization level or do we need to write it as user exits of va01/va02/va03 .

Now what we are planning is to restrict the database access to only the dba team using sqlnet.ora file and its tcp.validnode_checking parameter.
However, the problem is that we want to continue the APPSRO(which is an Apps Read Only Account) access to them.
Is there any way possible to restrict access only for a particular database user account using sqlnet.ora
please help.

Yes, that can be done. But note that all administrators will have the same right to print, so you need to make sure the users are not administrators. You can include a macro to disable printing, but if the users disable macro, they can print the documents.
Hence, there is no foolproof way to prevent printing documents. If you still need a foolproof security, PDF format provides password based security (viewing doesn't require a password) that can be implemented to prevent the document from printing,
which doesn't require any special scripts and is tough.
