Restrict Periodic jobs scheduling from SM36 or any other t-code
HI,
We would like to restrict users from scheduling periodic background jobs. Immediate jobs will be fine.
And also one more concerns is that user should not be able to directly execute any report or transaction in background periodically.
In short immediate jobs will be fine but users should not be able to set periodic jobs by any T-code.

If you search for "btcoptions" you will find a comprehensive discussion about this, and a development suggestion in the wiki.
I attempted the same and ended up recreating the UI from scratch and scheduling the report + variant from a parameter transaction they are authorized for, but the user can navigate in many transactions showing this option.
A compensating control when retiring users and central batch administration with monitoring is easier.

ManoharWhenever someone is trying to prevent an object owner from doing something, that's generally a sign of a deeper problem. In a production database, the object owner shouldn't generally have CREATE SESSION privileges, so the user shouldn't be able to log in, which would prevent the user from issuing any grants.
As a general rule, you cannot stop an object owner from granting privileges on the objects it owns. You can work around this by creating a database-level DDL trigger that throws an exception if the user issuing the statement is XYZ and the DDL is a GRANT. But long term, you probably want to get to the root of the problem.

Since the last update I have been unable to print from Firefox. No problem printing from Safari or any other program. I've seen a few responses to this problem but only to people running Windows. I'm on a Mac running v. 10.5.8.
Also when I click on the link in my email to activate my account (in the hopes that a solve will be emailed to me) I get this message -
"Something is wrong
We could not activate your account. Please make sure that you have clicked the correct link in your email or typed in the correct address."
Same message if I cut and paste the link. -
problem with latest version of firefox 15.0.1,whenever i download video from youtube or any other site using idm it shows only .webm format to download instead of flv or mp4.previous version works fine.also other browsers work fine.

Does airport express have auto on/off schedule feature? Or any other ways to turn it on/off automatically.

I can log on my email accounts, open my incoming emails (with difficulty coz it asks me to "try again" ) but I can never send emails, I always get: "sending is taking a little long, try again".

We are on Netweaver 2004s, ERP 6 .
I am scheduling (in SM36) a standard report output as background job, send its output to a pdf device and send this pdf automatically to email address. Everything is working fine except that I am not able to do the following:
1. Cannot change the email title (APR****-spool request no.) and body from "The Mail Attachment Contains the Print File Created by User..."
2. I need to send the email to several people. Cannot use the distribution list with the pdf device. IF I use in sm36 "spool list recipients" instead, the attachment sent as pdf will result truncated. Not all report lines will show.
Could someone help on any of the above?

E-Mailing Background Job Log from SM36

Is there a way that you can set up automatic emailing of the log from a periodic background job set in SM36? I want this log to be sent to few external E-mail IDs.

In my previous project we have achieved the same requirement,like sending the mail to particular User Id's
for a background run job.
Check with these steps,
Go to T code S023 > create>enter some name and Title->Folder ->private or shared one>Save->
back button->select name & change then recipient name mail address-->recipient type --->internet
address and then save.
In SM36 before scheduling the job click on spool list recipient and assign the one which you have
created,then you schedule the job ,give some job name and then save.
Before doing the above steps ask your BASIS consultant whether sending mails is active,the same can be
checked in T code SCOT.
Check and revert back whether you are successfful or not.

Problem in periodic job scheduling in LBWE
hi,
i have activated the Material movements datasource 2LIS_03_BF. Filled up the set up table.
now when i try to schedula a job in jobcontrol, under the tab *immediate* the immediate start check box is checked and disabled. the periodic job check boxat the bottom is unchecked and disabled.
the periodic values button which has to be near the check button is not present.
i even tried for other datasources, the periodic job is disabled in all and periodic values button is not found.
could anyone suggest me on this issue.Hi,
Did you initialize delta for 2LIS_03_BF from BI? If not, first initialize the delta and try to schedule V3 job from LBWE.
By default *Immediate start * check box will be in disable mode. If you want to run it immediately just click on Save button.
If you want to schedule it for future date and time then click on Date/time button then enter schedule start date and time and click on Save button.For more details about scheduling options please look at following link.

How to edit job scheduled in SM36
Dear All,
I have defined some background job (run weekly) by SM36, everything run fine except later I found that I forgot to change the output device to follow user's output device.
I can't find edit button in SM36 when I go back to my scheduled job, is that possible to edit the background job ? How to do that ?

But yes once your job is scheduled and for change your print parameters than follow this steps:
SM37>Job name>execute>select the job>From menu path JOB>change(Ctrl+F11)>Steps>From menu STEP>Change>pop up will prompt press Print specifications(F5)>Change printer from here.
PS:Again this would only possible once your job is only scheduled but not finished. -

Hi All,
I have scheduled two jobs periodically with same variant. The two jobs runs every day at same time. But two jobs are cancelling automatically. In job log the reason is Program is already active in background.
But in non periodic jobs, i mean i have two more jobs scheduled at same time with same variant. Those two jobs are not periodic jobs. In this case two jobs have been completed.
What would be the reason for cacel?

look below this may help full for u..
use different Infopackages for different date selections, or else take example and proceed like below mentioned.
i think u will get idea.
Go to SM37 and enter your job name. In the checkboxes below, check 'Released' only and uncheck all others. In the date range give a future date in the 'To' date.
Once you get the list(there should only be one that is in released status), select that and delete(trash can in the application toolbar). That will remove it from future schedules.

Text is not copying from InDesign to any other application
Hi.
I'm not able to copy the content from inDesign CS2 to any other application (textEdit, MS-word etc) even I'm fail to import the doc file in to inDesign, while placing the document file in inDesign it keeps the document file inactive.
In past everything was going good but from last months onward I'm facing this problem. Could anybody please help me to resolve, I even re-install the application again.

Choose on Billing document - Header.
Click on Change button.
Select your text procedure.
You can know your procedure by clicking on the tab Text procedure assignment.
Click on Text ID's in Textprocedure.
Select your text id.Check the tick mark under "Refer/Duplicate" field.

Satellite A10-131 does not boot from Recovery or any other disk
I have a client who has a A10-131. I have had to reload the OS, but the new DVD-Writer will not boot the recovery CD or any other original Windows CD for that matter. Is anyone able to help with this problem. I need to find out what solution is possible with such a problem.

Did you change the boot order in the BIOS???
Usually several boot possibilities are available.
1. You can press the C button immediately after notebook powering to detect the CD/DVD drive booting
2. you can use the F12 button to get the booting menu
3. you will change the boot order in BIOS to ODD firstly
But its interesting to know if your new ODD is compatible with the notebook -
Exporting Audio from MPEG2 to any other format
I recently puyrchased myTV.PVR. It saves digitized video clips to MPEG2. After purchasing Quicktime's MPEG2 Converter, I can now open the files in Quicktime Pro 7. BUT... when I export, and to any other form, MPEG4, DV, etc... there is NO audio track recognized or exported. I would like to digitize old videos and bring them into iMOVIE. What am I missing with the conversion/export process!?
