Restrict sms / imessage reply from lock screen

I recently am new to the ios platform from Android, and the one thing that bothers me, is i have security set on the iphone - running ios 8. I see the message on the lock screen, but I am able to reply without having to unlock my phone.
is there a way to be able to view the message, but i have to log in to reply? (similar to the swipe right and unlock)
the Caveat is I dont want to remove the notification from the lock screen, i just want to disable to reply.
Thanks all

Thank you for the link, i found my answer:
Allow access to features when iPhone is locked.
Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode (iPhone models with Touch ID) or Settings > Passcode (other models). Optional features include:
Today
Notifications View
Siri (if enabled, see Siri settings on page 48)
Passbook (see Chapter 26, Passbook, on page 122)
Reply with Message (see When someone calls on page 50)

  • My keyboard does not appear when i reply from lock screen in ios8?

When I attempt to reply to a text from the lock screen in iOS8, my keyboard does not appear. I have swiftkey installed in addition to the default keyboard. I am using an iphone 6. Any ideas? I am not sure where to begin.

    Hello there, Brian.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some great steps that help when an application isn't functioning as expected or quits unexpectedly.
With the "Restart" step, make sure you go through and close all applications that are running. If after performing the "Restart" step, you find the issue persists, try the reset portion of the instructions:
iOS: An app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

If the issue continues unresolved after performing all the recommended steps in that article, you may want to follow these instructions:
Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

  • IPhone 6 Camera from lock screen, closes after 1 second...

When I access the camera from the lock screen, it opens for about one second then just blacks out to a screen off mode. I can still get to camera the long way by unlocking screen and clicking on icon, but want to know why the shortcut from lock screen is buggy. Please advise.

I'm not sure what you meant with the first part of your reply. However, the reset seems to returned behaviors to normal... so thanks for that.
Not that it matters much now, but again, the issue was that I wasn't able to go directly into camera mode from Lock Screen... the camera app would appear for one second, then the screen would just go into sleep mode. Unlocking screen with passcode or Touch ID worked fine then opening apps from there all worked fine. Just the camera shortcut from Lock Screen as the issue, but now it is resolved.

  • Difficulty answering iPhone 5 with iOS 7 from lock screen

With iOS 7, when I try to answer the phone from lock screen, the slide to answer green bar is less responsive than answering phone in previous versions of iOS and it also takes awhile for other party to hear you. Several persons tell me the same. Using an iPhone 5. Can anyone help me out on this? Is it a generalized problem that Apple should address?

No, we have to wait till Apple fixes this problem.
For the Slide to reply bar: Turn on "Reply with message" in your passcode settings you that you will have a button to answer a call instead of a slider. (Will also enable Messaging from the lock screen)

  • Using IOS 5, but no camera from lock-screen or Week view in Calendar, as promised. What can I do?

Using IOS 5, but no camera from lock-screen or Week view in Calendar, as promised. What can I do?

Thanks. I don't know if it seems obvious to everyone, but it shouldn't be needed to double click to seet it. If anyone finds out why there isn't a week view in the Calendar native app, or a way to make it avaiable I would be thankfull. If not, I will continue using third party app for that purpose.

  • End a call & mute/un-mute from lock screen?

Is there a way to end a call & mute/un-mute from lock screen?
I frequently call into meetings from my iPhone and then lock the screen, I don't like having to unlock my phone just to go off mute or end the call..

iPhones should not lock at all during any length call unless you're using a headset - wired or Bluetooth. In that case,  you should use the mute and end call controls on the headset.
The only exception to this are phones that were configured by corporate security settings that force the phone to lock after a specified interval regardless if there is a call in progress.  In that case, you only option it to get your IT dept. to reconfigure this setting.

  • Opening camera or calculator from lock screen

Recently I upgraded my 5S to IOS 8.3 and now faced issue when starting camera or calculator from lock screen.
I'm pressing "home" button to activate screen and then start calculator or camera from bottom menu, but the screen goes black immediately.
When I press "home" button again, I can see that the camera or calculator will be closed and I'm back in lock screen.
Does anyone else have similar issue with 8.3 ?

I currently have the exact same issue with my iPhone 5s.
The previous update was golden and fixed every issue I had with my 5s. I have my 5s set up for Touch ID/password and I was thinking it might have something to do with that, but I haven't gotten around to testing this issue without all of that enabled.
I hate to say it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this issue...
This update also bright back other issues that were fixed in the previous update, for me anyway.
Is there a way for us to officially submit this issue to Apple?

Not a feature of Windows Phone OS, you can only change wallpaper, show artist when playing music or have password request upon lockscreen.

  • Option to disable the "slide to call" feature for missed calls from lock screen

I realized that when the iphone (running iOS5) is locked, the“Slide to Call” allows anyone to make an outgoing call to the missed calls from a locked phone (with passcode). This may allow malicious and unwanted calls to be made from a locked phone by anyone having access to the phone and defeats the purpose of having the phone locked by a passcode.
Don't get me wrong, it is nice feature for people who don't care about locking their phone, but I believe there should be an option to disable the “slide to call” or at least require password before allowing the outgoing call to go through.
At this point the only option that I see is to disable the phone related notifications from lock screen, which prevents all phone related notifications to be displayed on lock screen (missed or voicemail). This is not a desired solution.....
This is the first time in the history of iOSes, that a user can make outgoing calls from a locked phone with a passcode. Even the voice commands (for dialling a number) have option to be disabled on locked screen.
I was wondering if anybody else feels the same way about this? or have a solution?

I share the same feeling with you about this issue.
Actually I was very surprised when I discovered that!
In addition to this, when you actually slide a missed call, it calls the person and when you end the call, the notification of the missed call is still present! So that person can be called again and again and again.
This is a serious issue that Apple has overlooked!
    Please secure the iOS 5.
    Thanks.

  • HT5858 Bug with control centre? - only accessible from lock screen

I cannot access Control Center from my home screens or within apps, only from the Lock Screen - very annoying if I want to switch my music output for example or use the torch.
My settings are on for both access from Lock Screen and Access from within Apps.
Is this a bug or I am doing something wrong?

    Hello Adrian Biffen,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you can't access Control Center from inside apps. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
Use Control Center on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
If you're using an app that uses similar swipe gestures, like Maps or games, you might have to swipe up twice: once to reveal the handle for Control Center, and a second time to reveal Control Center.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,
