Restrict the Sales Order Quantity in Integer

Hi All,
our system need to restrict the Sales Order Quantity in having no decimal value.
We have got the OSS reply as:
"Unfortunately I regret to tell you that it is not possible to
restrict the order quantity number to integer in standard system.
The number of allowed decimals is defined in the system via SE12.
In SE12, you can see that for VBAP-KWMENG, the number of allowed decimals is 3. I'm sorry but this is the standard system behavior."
But we need to avoid programming. Can you anyone suggest any work around methods, like define rounding profile to do the restrictions.
Regards,
Simon

  • Rounding : User flexibility to edit the Sales Order quantity.

    Hello Gurus,
We are on 6.0 and have the following requirements.
1st requirement: To round the Sales Order Quantity to the Alt Unit of Measure (higher or lower). As a solution we could use the Rounding Profile.
The problem is with 2nd requirement below.
2nd business requirement: When the system rounds the Sales Order quantity to higher or lower, the user should have the flexibility to edit the Sales Order quantity and decide whether to permit rounding or not, as suggested by the system.
Currently, with standard config, the system gives the message V1720 saying it has rounded the quantity with a reason. After the rounded quantity is suggested by the system, even if the user edits the Sales Order quantity, the system puts it back to the previously rounded quantity.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENT : We would like to have the Rounding but we want the user to be able to edit the rounded quantity.
REASON : Since the products are high value, we want the customer to feel comfortable with the rounded quantity.
The users do not want to impose the rounded quantity compulsorily on the customer. If the customer is not comfortable with the rounded quantity, the customer should be givne the choice of a non-rounded quantity.
IMPACT : In these difficult times, every Order is important. If we don't not give this choice to the customer, the customer might decide not to order at all. We do not want to lose the Order just because of the higher rounded quantity. But, at the same time, we would like to give the choice to the customer of the rounded quantity and his non-rounded quantity.
PLEASE NOTE : In this situation, the Rounded quantity is slightly different from Minimum Order quantity. The Minimum Order quantity is not the solution.
QUESTION : Is there any standard setting or is User Exit, BADI the only method ?
    Thanks in advance
    Srinivas

    Hi Prakash,
Thanks for the reply. Actually these customers are created as a Agents and we are using these customers in Commission rebates. So at the time of Rebate partial credit memo, then these agents should be active otherwise system will give the error.
So what i am thinking is, Standard sales order creation needs to be restricted so that users can not able to create standard order.
So can you suggest is there any user exit can be used to prevent creation of standard order for these account group and order type xxx?

  • Order recommendation must be extra than the sales order quantity

    Hi Expert,
My client is using the MRP wizard to generate the Purchase and Production order once a sales order comes from customer than MRP create the production order for parent item and purchase order for chilld items with required quantity but there is a possibility of rejection which comes to know at the end of production and to complete the quantity required some time.
Is there any possibility that MRP generate the recommendation 10%(for example) extra than the sales order quantity. So that it will full fill the rejected quantity at the end of production.
    Thanks

    Hi,
MRP in B1 designed in a way that you don't need to enter many choices to select from.  To fulfill your goal, I think it is not that difficult because you could export recommended order and calculate the new total by a formula like New Qty = Recommend Qty * 1.1 in Excel and DTW the production orders using the calculated results.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • How production peoples will know the sales order quantity?

    Hi,
In our business we are getting orders from our customer in advance (ie before stock production). Is there any notification to send the Ordered item, Quantity and Dispatch date to the production department to produce the stock? Is there any setup for the same?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Prabhu.S.J

Your MRP / APS will create wip jobs based on the sales order demand. The shop floor may / maynot care about which sales order they are building it for.
If you want to create one-to-one relationship between the jobs and the sales orders, you can either make your items as ATO items and autocreate the wip jobs or check the LOT FOR LOT option in your ascp plan.

  • How to pick-up the sales order quantity

    Hello Friends,
I am writing a report where I need to pickup the sales order details like, item no, material, qty etc.
But when I check qty filed it is showing field "RV45A-KWMENG" here RV45A is the structure. So can I fetch qty in my report?
    Please help me,
    Shreekant

    Hi,
I feel you would have the fecth the data from the table, structure will not give you the data against the quantity field, so when you are using the field in your program to fetch the data, look for the relevant table and use the quantity field from that table.
Let me know if my views are correct and please rate my answer if you find it useful.

  • Update the sales order ( Quantity ).

    Hi Experts,
I am using BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE. I want to change only Quantity of a sales order for that I pass it in ITEM Table and set the flag for these values in ITEMX table.
After executing BAPI it runs Successfully so I commit it by using BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
Now my query is after commited BAPI it does not update the  related sales order in database.
Why is it occurs meantime it is possible manually by VA02.
Suggess what to do to solve this?
Points will be sured for helpful answers.
    Thanks & regards
    Alok Vishnoi

    Hi Alok,
If you want to change the quantity in a sales order item using BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE you have to pass the new quantity in the Schedule Lines (SCHEDULE_LINES) table to the BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE. Then only the new quantity gets reflected at the item level.
If u just change the quantity at the Item level it will not get effected.
I hope it is useful. Please let me know if u need any information.

  • Restricting decimals in Sales Order Quantity

Hi All,  I have a requirement to restrict the decimals in the sales order quantity i.e the system should not allow the quantity to be entered with a decimal value like 2.4 or 5.6   only the whole numbers (1,2, 3....)  should be accepted by the system in slaes order quantity. I have tried to make the settings using t-code CONI....but its not working.pls suggest

    Hello,
check the UoM (unit of measure) of your products in material master.
Then you may define in customizing how many decimals are admitted for that specific UoM.
E.g.: currently PC (pieces) do not admit decimals otherwise KG (kilos) may accept them.

  • SALE ORDER QUANTITY LESS THAN DELIVERY QUANTITY ? NO CECK IN SAP ??

    Hello friends,
I created a sales order of quantity  10 , having two material codes each having quantity 4 and 6 . i created delivery for the one by putting delivered quantity 4 and save , then i created delivery for second and put delivered quantity 8 which was greater than the sale order quantity left ,system saved the delivery and didn't popped any error message.
Does SAP have options to over come this mistake by end users.
    regards

    Dear Joshi,
Please get in touch with your abap er as there user exits which can be written to avoid this situation.
Let me explain you further one more situation.
First one, Your query is if for  item A ord qty is 6 the system saved the delivery with 8 qty which is greater than ordered quantity.  I know the gives a warning doing this.
    Second Situation :
Say item A ordered qty is 5, and i made a delivery for 3 and saved it. Now the open quantity on the order is only 2. (5 -3 =2).  But one of our users reduced the ordered quantity to 2 despite saving a delivery with quantity 3.
so the situation is ord qty is 2 and delivered is 3 qty. which is again wrong. But while reducing the ordered quantity less than the delivered quantity the system gives a warning message telling "  ORDERED QUANTITY IS LESS THAN DELIVERED QUANTITY ".
Also just imagine we made delivery for qty 5 and invoiced it.After which you reduced the delivered quantity to say 3. So delivered is 3 but invoiced is 5.
Hence for these kinds of practical problems we have addressed them through user exits with the help of our ABAP'ers by turning those warning messages into error messages by selecting the suitable message class.
Hope the explanation helps you. And thanks for all your patient reading.
    Reward points if useful.

  • Sales Order - Returns change the sales order item delivery status

    Hi All,
we have the following requirement from our users:
after creating a return, the original sales order should have the
delivery item status changed. The system should permit that a new
delivery can be created for sales order item already delivered / billed (a new delivery with the quantity that has being returned) but has a return document,
without increasing the sales order quantity.
Does any body got the same requirement ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marcus

    Hi Marcus,
After creating return order you have to do the goods receipts. But this doesn't mean that you will be able to create a delivery with the old order itself.
You have to create the order again and ahve to create a new delivery, goods issue and billing.
Another option is as Roberto said that you have to reverse the goods issue thru VL09 and then cancel(delete) your delivery and then you can create a new delivery wr.t to your original sales order.
      Reward points if it helps.
    Regards

  • Re: Printing Cancelled line items in the sales order on the packing slip

    Hi gurus,
Currently we have a unique requirement in our company. Our wholesale customers send the Purchase order to us via EDI. Now saw they have requested an order containing 10 materials out of which we can fulfill only 8. the other 2 due to some reasons cannot be fulfilled.
So the business wants to keep the other 2 line items to be entered in the sales order with a cancelled status.
Now correct me if I am wrong, only the confirmed line items will be copied from a sales order to a delivery document. So thats the reason why these cancelled line items cannot be printed on the packing slip.
However somehow the business wants the packing slip tp have the 2 line items printed on it with the reason of not being delivered. this is to facilitate the customer to know why those items couln't be fulfilled by our company. Now we cannot use a manual work-around of letting the customer know about the impossibility of not fulfilling the other 2 items as there are a lot of orders that come thru EDI per day.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this requirement asap.
    Thanks in advance
    Vinit

    Hi Vinit,
This requirement makes a lot of sense, that is to be able to inform your customer that some item(s) of the sales order could not be delivered, not even partially.
A possible solution would be to allow for zero quantity in the delivery item (check customizing and mark "zero quantity allowed" in the item category).
Then in the packing split, it would be easy to print the delivered quantity (0) and the sales order quantity (whatever it was), because you have the "null" item available in the delivery.
Personally I am not found of having have delivery items with zero quantity, but they are useful in that case, and they can also be useful to automatically "close" the sales order item (instead of having to do it manually if the goods can't be served).
Note: Usually in Consumer Goods, if you can't serve part of a sales order to a customer, you have to close it, because the Retailer's next Sales Order will include the remaining quantity.
    Hope it helps.

  • Sales order quantity in MD04

    Hi Gurus,
    This is my problem -
51 links (Base UoM) = 2.5 feet (Sales & Production UoM)
    Delivery unit = 53 links
In VA01 -> when I entered Sales order = 12 feet system automatically rounded it to 12.990 feet.
I also received a pop up showing "Item 10 rounded to 265 lk. Rounding reasons 1,2,8 -> long text"
In MD04 -> when I look at the Sales order quantity = 264.996 links.
Ran MRP and the planned order quantity = 265 links
There is a surplus inventory of  ------------> 0.0004 links

Thanks a lot Dave. You are the only guy who really understood my issue in the first place.
And you asked all the right questions.
Just for the sake of our discussion - I created a brand new material (material setup is same as production client). MRP settings- Proc type E, PD, EX, no rounding profiles, strategy 40, Collective.

  • Sales Order Quantity in Base unit of measure

    Hi All,
I have a requirement in which I need Sales Order quantity in base uom. However, I noticed that 2lis_11_vatim doesn't extract this figure but instead has numerator and denominator in the extractor by which we would be able to calculate it. But, I am bit reluctant to do so as it might have an issue with rounding values.
I know that there are some standard function modules in R/3 which do this conversion. Is there any such FMs in BW to do this conversion? If not, is there any other way to get the sales order quantity in base uom other than calculating it using numerator and denominator?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Rgds,
    James.

    Hi Ajeet,
Just to confirm, is this the formula you normally use?
    Quan * N/D
Quan = Quantity to be converted
    N = Numerator
    D = Denominator
    Rgds,
    James.

  • Dly Qty is Diff from the Sale order Qty

    Hi,
    Gurus
The sale order quantity for the Material X is 100 Qty, Material Y is 99.601 Qty, Material Z is 99.601.
While we see the same in delivery level the quantity is coming as 99.730 for Mtl X, 99.330 for Mtl Y and 99.330 for Mtl Z. Even the the quantity is confirmed for the Exact Qty in the Shedule Line in sale order.
    Guide Me Gurus
    Regards
    Anand

    Hi,
Thank You All, Thank you all for the Coordination.
I have checked the same for what you have all told. I identified the Material in the sales order, the item category for this material as BOM.
I have also checked the bill of material display header overview. The Base Quantity maintained as 1000 EA3. The SUBITEM maintained in G in the unit field in bill of material display.
Accordingly i have checked the same for material master's additionl data in Units of Measure tab, it is mentioned the basic unit as 1000 EA3 and alternative unit as 600 G.
My client processed the order for 100 QTY. The QTY for the two sub item is 99.601 each in the sale order.
My client Question is why in delivery the Material Qty is coming as 99.730 and the SUB ITEM is coming as 99.330 EACH.
Note:-  The material X  is maintained in EA3 in Bill of material header overview. I do no how the sale unit came as G for the Material in sale order.
The other two sub item is perfectly coming as G. Because it is maintained in G in the Bill of Material Display.
    Guide me GURUS.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Sales order quantity is to be changed

After MRP run, if Sales order quantity is to be changed than what implication will planned order have in next MRP run?

    Hi,
If we change the sales order quantity, then there will not be any change in planned order unless we take MRP . After MRP the old planned orders will get deleted and new gets created with the new quantity in the sales order.
Please maintain the run time parameter as "Deleteand Recreate "

  • Maximum Quantity restriction in the sales order?

    Hi All
We need to make restriction of maximum order QTY  with UOM in sales order key combination of sales organization wise / site wise / distribution Channel wise
While qty is entered for an article in sales order for which maximum sales order qty is maintained in some field (Article master or any other possible field)-, system has to check if the ordered quantity is greater than maximum sales order qty then should display error message and will not allow to process further
    Hope the same is clear.
    Regards,
    C S Javali

    hi
there is no standard functionality available to set the maximum limit for a material in the sales order.
You can try using user exit userexit_save_document_prepare in include MV45AFZZ.
You may need to use Z-table to enter the maximum value for sales organization / site  / distribution Channel / material
