Windows Security user name/password prompt when trying to remote access personal cloud storage device

I have 2TB WD Book Live drive setup at home and is working fine, including remote accessing by internet. However using a colleague's computer at the office recently, her computer would always prompt me for Windows Security username and password. I've tried
keying her admin user name/password and well as the router's admin/admin combinations and still doesn't allow me to access the cloud drive properly. However I have had no problem accessing the same drive remotely using other colleagues computers.
The exact message prompt as follows: Windows Security. The server 192.168.1.1 is asking for your user name and password. The server reports that it is from index.htm. WARNING: Your user name and password will be sent using basic authentication on
a connection that isn't secure.
Please help me understand the problem and its solution. Thank you.

The IP address 192.168.1.1 is your Router server address, isn't it? I doubt there should some limition in your colleague's system. Please check it. Also you can try to disable security software for test to access your cloud.
The problem isn't your cloud server Authorization.

POP3 -Keep asking for user name & Password

Hi,
We have exchange 2003 server with Service pack 2. We have user who check their mails through Outlook 2003, Outlook web access & some users are using POP3 to download the messages.
Since last few weeks, we are getting the complained that when engineers are trying to configured users account in Outlook with POP3 configuration, its keep asking for user name & password. But with same user name & passwords user is able to check their mail through Outlook web access.
In some of our site, users are able to download messages through pop3 account but this account was configured long back.
Kindly advise.

This is happening mainly when
1. user changed his password through Outlook web access next time its keep poping up for password & it will not accept the new passord.
2. if user is using OWA & when we try to configured his mail in Outlool with POP3 .
See if i remove exchange attributes from user's account & then delete the users from AD & Recreated with same user name, Password & reconnected to that user to his old mailbox, it;s work fine.

Question on how to Hide the User Name, Password, and Domain fields in the MDT Wizard

I am looking on how to Hide the User Name, Password, and Domain fields which are prepopulated in the MDT wizard via the CS.ini (Not so concerned about the Domain field as I am User Name and Password)
We do need the Computer Name and OU fields to be seen, so skipping the wizard is not a option
The client just does not want these fields to be seen by the end users, they dont want them to even know the account name used for adding the machine to the domain, of course the password is not displayed but it must not be displayed either.
But since we use the fields they must still be fuctional just not seen.

You shouldn't have to edit DeployWiz_Definition_ENU.xml. You should only need to add "SkipAdminPassword=YES" to the CS.ini file and your authentication information.
Example:

Auto-update: invalid user name / password

I have changed out the CCO username and password for an IPS configured for auto-update but cannot get the IPS to correctly update its signature any longer. I have verified that the CCO login is correct and that it can download a signature file directly using a web browser interface. However, every attempt to get the IPS to update automatically results in the following error:

FYI - just to close my own issue.
The issue was resolved by using the cli to set the values and perform a one-time update. Once that was successful, all future signature updates have worked fine through the gui.

If you have only one account, then your admin password is your user password. If you use another account that is not an admin account, then log into your admin account from which you can change the password on your user account.

Auto complete option in CRM 2007 Web Client

Dear Experts,
Like how we open certain web pages and find the user name automatically apprearing (auto complete option) when you enter the first letter. This option can be enabled by doing the settings in Internet explorer tools - content - autocomplete option.
Similarly the client requires autocomplete option to be enabled for CRM 2007 Webclient. Though we have enabled autocomplete settings briefed above, its not working in webclient.
Can you please let me know the procedure to get the autocomplete option of previous entries as a drop down while trying to create /reenter the data.
Answers resolving the query will be rewarded.

N97Update User Name & Password

I have a N97 running V 10.0.012 & I am keen to update the software.
Each time I try to do so it tells me it has an invaild user name & password.
Can someone tell me what user name & password it requires as I am having no joy !!!

This is how we fixed the N97 of one of our managers that wouldn't update from v11 to v12, hopefully the same will apply to a phone on v10:
Go to Menu > Applications > SW Update.
Unselect Phone software.
Select Install Before Phone Software.
Select Options > Start update.
After the update is successfully completed, select Phone software.
Select Options > Start update.

Hi there,
looks like you entered "DBADMIN" when you created the liveCache instance in DBMGUI as the DBM Operator.
For SAP installations, this user is always named "CONTROL".
So, drop the instance again, recreate it with "CONTROL" and re-do the recovery of the liveCache backup.

Dynamic User Name & Password Creation

In My Project I want to create no. of dynamic username & password as per user enters no of user he/she want to create.
For that i used database table's last auto-increment value and increment it to 1 & append it to 'st' for student(st+01)
so i am creating User name & Password Like st02 & st02 etc.
now my problem is when maxium limit of auto increment number is reached Usernmae & password repeats,so unique usernmae & Password creation not possible?
Is there any other way to do this other than using databse table's auto-increment field

Make sure the ID doesn't loop? An int(11) should provide MORE than enough possibilities. Be sure to use a long on the java side to hold the ID.

I am using MaxDB 7.6.00 BUILD 012-123-102-632 with JBoss through the JDBC Driver 7.6.0 on a Windows XP box.
Sometimes, seldomly, after a reboot, I have the error :
2008-05-28 14:52:40,093 WARN http://org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.JBossManagedConnectionPool Throwable while attempting to get a new connection: null
org.jboss.resource.JBossResourceException: Could not create connection; - nested throwable: (com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.exceptions.DatabaseException: -4008: Unknown user name/password combination)
When this happens, I can still connect to the databse using both the "Database Manager" or the java based "Db Visualizer" connecting as JBOSS/JBOSS. The "JBoss" user is registered as being of the type "dba".
If I stop the sapdb windows service and my JBoss server windows service and restart them slowly and calmly. The problem disapears.
I suspect that, sometimes, for some reason, my JBoss server tries to connect with the database when the latter is not "completely" ready. But by "completely" I don't really know what I mean.
Did anyone experience that kind of problem ?

Creating User Name & Password field

Hi All
I am using Captivate5 and I am in process of making a quiz for my team. I have done some trials and I am confident with building a quiz and gettiong it to work.
Here is my problem:
I want a login page at the start of the quiz. I want the user to type in thier name and the password would be thier staff number i.e
A Smith = 12345678
B Smith = 23456789
C Smith = 34567890
and so on.
Only once the user name corresponds with correct staff number, user can proceed with the quiz.
I am new to Captivate and would appricate if you guys can provide a step by step approach so that I can find my way around all the options :-)

Real pain is a little bit exaggerating, the script is not that difficult (bit tedious because of the repetition needed for the 30 possibilities) but normally this is not a functionality that should be done by Captivate.
The username entered will have to be stored in a user variable, that can be done by associating the entry in the TEB to this variable (Properties panel). Based on this entry you will have to launch an advanced condtional action with 30 decisions (sort of questions) that compares this user variable with the 30 possible usernames. If one of them is OK, the corresponding password can be stored in a second user variable. If none is correct an error caption will be showed.
When the password is entered in the second TEB, the submit button (or shortcut key) should launch a second advanced conditional action that checks if the entry in this TEB corresponds with the value stored in the second user variable. Depending on this check the account will be accepted or another error caption pops up.
That is all. And really I do not see another way, except using a LMS or reporting to acrobat.com or an internal webserver. Do you want to try it? Did you already create advanced actions?

HT1515 Will Airport Express work in hotels in China? They require user name/password to connect. Has anyone used one there?

I will be traveling in China with my iPad2 and want to use hotel wireless. It requires a sign-in with user name/password. Can I use an Airport Express for this purpose? How do I set it up for that? I have an old Express (pre-2007); can I use it or do I need to upgrade to the new model?

OK - I have never been to China but the posts here say that it can be done - the cable from the hotel should be connected to the WAN port of the Express - the Express should be in bridge mode and set to create a wireless network with a name and password of your choice - you can do this with a computer before you leave for China or with the iPad if you have previously downloaded the Airport Utility app - you would then connect to your network and attempt to bring up a web page such as Google - the hotel should then intervene and ask you for the login info that they have provided.

We will go one by one :
You can go for the Anonymous login but the problem is the any body can access the FTP server and it is not the secure one,that is why business generally don't allow the Anonymous login.
Coming to Proper user name password login ,I would advice you to use this one as the connection is more secure in this case.But this also comes with a problem that the username password generally expires after some time as per security policy and you have to change the username password for the FTP server as well as in File adapter which you are using.But this problem can be solved by going for a permanent username and password.
I would recommend you to go for Proper user name and password.
