Restrict URL Access when linking from report

I have an application that will be a little like a wizard in that I need to control how users get to a form, so I would like to prevent them from being able to just going straight to that page and entering data into the form. I tried using various session state security options, including No URL Access, but that blows up when I try to link from a report to that form for editing purposes.
Is there some way I can link from the report if the target page restricts URL access, and can get a get a brief overview (or point me to some documentation) on the various branch types? I can't find a good explanation anywhere and I'm hoping that solves my problem.

- Into Column Attributes/Column Link/Link Text pick an icon.
- Select for Attributes/Column Link/Target “URL” for table Emp_Address and into URL field type:

You can use the value of any Item. Then in the URL link page check that item.
Moreover, you can use f?p=&APP_ID.: 6004:&SESSION…..My_Item:#ReportColumnName#.......

"edit" link from report to form does not show values

I created a report and an attached form on two different pages. The report is a query combining two tables with outer joins. When I click on the "edit" button on the report, I get forwarded to the form page.
My problem: When I get forwarded to the forms page, I get an empty form, and not the data from the column as expected. The "edit" button behaves more like the "create" button. Anybody an idea what I could change to be able to edit the column data?

I've met the similar problem with previous releases (1.5.0 and 1.5.1) without any objective reason.
As I suggests, sometimes HTMLDB lost current session state. When this occurs, ALL links from reports to it's forms does not transit primary keys. I've just completed application development and I've met this behaviour every months.
As a workaround I found folowwjing process:
Come into administration tab, selet "Report with option to purge current session state". When I purge current session state and re-login to application, all report-form links will start to work.
I don't know, what is the issue, but I met it so soon on my local HTMLDB environment.

Firefox wont open webpage when linked from another program

When linking from other programs, a new firefox window will open, but displaying a blank page instead of loading the page. I checked for firefox being the default web browser, but I cant figure out what other options may be important. It actually started happening when upgrading to Ubuntu Natty, did not happen when using ff 4.0.1 on maverick. Any Ideas? Thanks for the help.

The reason for this is because there was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.

How to restrict URL to open only from Forms and not from Browser

Hi,
Our application built in Oracle Forms 10g, calls a URL.
The URL is essentially a path on the application server where files are stored. Users can access this to download files from the server.
However the URL can also be opened independently from the browser.
Is there any way, such that the URL can only be opened through the application, and it should be denied when it is opened through the browser.

Actually, there are several options including the one already offered above. Here are a few more:
1. If you are using 10.1.2.3 and a newer JRE on the client (e.g. 1.6.0_10 or newer), you could use java script to open the report. This will not be a perfect solution because it may not work if using a non-IE browser or if java scripting is disabled. Refer to MyOracleSupport Article 265863.1 for more information.
EXAMPLE:
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('javascript:void(window.open("http://www.oracle.com","","location=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,"));self.close()','_blank');Replace the url in the above example with the call to your report.
2. Set the age of the cache to a very short value so that it is only available long enough to be viewed by the user who created it. In other words, when setting the reports properties in your Forms code, include the Reports "others" parameter with TOLERANCE=1
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_OTHER,'TOLERANCE=1');This will cause the cache (on the server) to live for only one minute then be deleted. Refer to the Report Deployment Guide for more information.

Url used to show in the url box when opening from a shortcut or email, but now it's not there. If I refresh the page it is. How do I get this back the way I like it?

The url of the website that I'm visiting used to show in the url box when I opened from a shortcut or email. But not it's not there unless I refresh the page. I've looked and haven't found a way to set this so that it works like it used to. I liked being able to click in the address bar and copy the link, or even to look there and see where I am.

I'm unable to check it in safe mode because the only time it happens is when I click a link and have not firefox open. For example if I would click a link in my email right now, it would open in another tab and show the address of the link I clicked. But if I didn't not have this window open and clicked alink, it would open a new window and I wouldn't be able to see the url.

Link from Report to Form in a Page

1. I have created a page in the Page Groups. I have five tabs on this page. Under a tab I have one Report added as a Portlet. This Report has a LINK to a From. When I click on the LINK the Form opens, but not in the Portlet area. Is it possible to have a Form open in the Portlet area (replacing the Report)?
2. I get the following error when trying to add one particular Report as a Portlet in a page:
An unexpected error has occurred in pages: wwpob_api_page.add_portlet (WWC-44847)
An unexpected error has occurred in portlet instances: wwpob_api_portlet_inst.create_inst (WWC-44846)
Do anyone have any ideas?

Invalid Object Name When Executing from Report Manager

I ran some code to create a modified view of ExecutionLog3 on a SQL Server 2012 instance. The ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB were transferred from a 2005 instance and are still on that compatibility level. After creating the new view, I
created a report in SSDT and it runs fine. I deployed the dataset followed by the report. I went to Report Manager to test it and the report fails with the following:
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
The execution failed for the shared data set
'ExecutionLog'. (rsDataSetExecutionError)
Query execution failed for dataset ''. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)
Invalid object name 'ExecutionLog3_Modified'.

According to your description, you can't process the dataset when viewing the report on report server. Right?
In this scenario, as you can see the dataset name in error message is empty, and it says "Invalid Object Name". Because you have already created a view in your database. When you run this report again, this query be executed again so that you can
not create another view with same name. So you just need to query the view directly when creating dataset.

Cannot access Web Link from Mail

When I try to access a Web Link from a mail message it is launching iPhoto and trying to create a subscription. For the life of me I cannot find where I might be able to redirect this to launch Safari instead of iPhoto. No idea how this was changed either?

Reports are blank when opened from Reports Server

I have created a report project in Visual Studio 2013 and deployed a test report to the local reports server (SSRS 2012).
When I preview the report from visual studio it opens well, but when I try opening it from Report Server URL, I can see the report viewer toolbar but once I click "View Report" it shows "Loading" and then a blank page appears.
I then tried to delete the datasource, datasets and delete any report contents and just keep the title, still a blank page is the only thing that appears

According to your description, when you run the report, it displays a blank page.
Based on my research, it has reported the same issue when running the report in Chrome and Safari browsers. If that is a case, you can add the code below to ReportingServices.js file.

Is there a way to affect the URL used when running a report subscription?

We are using SQL Server 2008 R2. I am finding out that when running a report subscription to extract a file in csv format, an extra blank line is created at the bottom (i.e., extra line feed), and the mysterious BOM characters also get inserted at
the beginning. Both of these "features" are causing problems with a client's import of these files. Of course, it affects multiple clients.
I have done some research and have found information on how to edit the rsconfigserver file to render CSV files using ASCII and to not use Excel formatting. This removes both "features"/problems stated above.
However, editing the server config file will affect all csv extractions on that report server. Is there a way to control the URL of a specific report subscription to include these values (so only the reports that need the fix get it)? For example,
someone gave this URL as an example of how to add parameters including encoding in the URL. http://MyReportServer/ReportServer?%2fReport+Folder%2fReportName&rs:Command=Render&rs:Format=CSV&rc:Encoding=ASCII
Is there a way to have the report subscription run the report using a URL like this so it extracts it without the BOM characters? I was thinking a data driven subscription would allow me to set the values like this, but these parameters are only pertinent
AFTER the report is run and only needed for the final rendering. Not sure how to do this. Maybe it's not possible. If it's not, that's fine. I just need to write a proposal to our DBA's to talk them into making a couple edits to the server config
file.
Has anyone ever worked around this before in SSRS?

According to your description, you want to have some report exported into CSV file with ASCII encoding when running a subscription. Right?
In Reporting Services, when we run the subscription, it will call the Render Extension as we configured in rsreportserver.config file, we can't set the Render format with ASCII Encoding on subscription level. As you said, the Render Extension we configured
in the rsreportserver.config will apply to all reports. In this scenario, you only want that extension apply to specific reports. For your requirement, we suggest you add a custom Render Extension in configure file. You just need to copy the CSV Extension
and add a <OverrideNames/> to override a new name. Then set the <Encoding> in <Configure>. And you can select this custom Extension when creating the subscription. This might be the most effective workaround.

Does anyone know how to reset the Keychain login access when booting from disc?

I recently had Lion go bad on my Mac Pro (screen hung up with twirly grey circle). I tried unsuccessfully to repair permissions etc, so I decided to install Snow Leopard onto my other internal drive as this was the latest system I had on a disc; bootup with that and update to Lion.
After installation the machine restarted and asked me for the login user and password. I thought this was odd as usually it would ask to set this up when you first bootup; I can't get past the login. My question is how do I reset the keychain login access when booted m a disc or is there a default I can use?

OutOfMemoryException when linked from Access to SharePoint

I have an Access database that is linked to lists in a SharePoint site. Recently I am unable to run any reports. When I try to run any underlying queries, or open the tables, I get an OutOfMemoryException error. Can anyone advise me where
to begin to hunt this down?

Restrict URL Access using location directive

I'm trying to restrict access to a URL using the location directive in Apache.
I want to allow access to "/analytics/saw.dll?WSDL" to everyone and restrict access to "/analytics/saw.dll?Answers" to certain IPs.
Putting the URLs in location directives doesnt seem to work. I believe the problem is the ? which is a wildcard.

Link from report to a file in a folder

i have a situation as follows :
i have a customers file and each customer has a agreement. what i want is a oracle portal report that has a link to the agreement (agreement is a pdf file), such that, when i run the report and click a particular column it opens up the agreement.
the only problem is that the link need to be dynamic meaning, if the user clicks customer id 10 it should open a agreement for cutomer 10. if the user clicks customer id 20 it should open a agreement for customer 20 and so on.
is there any way of achieving dynamic links to the items in site from the components.
ideas anyone ... ?

I can develop a program to save a report as file in background job,but I have to develop a program for every report,I want to know is there any standard function for it, just like throwing the report to spool.

Making dynamic links from report fields

Is there a way to make report fields link to differnt websites? I can't use the 'link' tool in 'editing' option of making the report because the link will not be the same for each record in the database. The field itself is actually the address of the website I want to be able to link to. So essentially, what I want to do is something like: ..but this does not work. Does anyone know if this is possible??

You can use SQL report to do this:
Suppose the column which contains the web addressed is called url_column, your SQL
will be something like
select htf.anchor(url_column, name) from the_table
Then in the Column Formatting page,
set the "Display as" for column url_column as HTML.
Run the report and the values form that column will be a url which links to other web sites
