You need to contact the provider as they are the only ones that can unlock phones. Try looking at the unlocking topic for all related info.

Hello all,
A friend got a Nokia 6280 as a gift from the UK, the phone is on 3 network. each time the phone is put on it asks for restriction code. I don't have the code and do not what code to use.
Hoping to hear from you guys.

Basically the restriction (sometimes called unlock) code would have to come from the original network.

Restriction codes are normally available from the network the phone is locked to. So contact your network and request the code. As the 6234 is a fairly old model it is probably out of contract so you should have a good chance getting the code from them.
Once you have the code, use the procedure outlined on the link below to remove the restriction.

Software activation codes are provided by the software producers, so you need to check with the site you downloaded the app from.

I just wanted to delete some message counters logs, but it asks me for security code when I select "clear counters menu". Is there any factory set - security code for Nokia phones?

If thats not the case then you may try the Software Recovery Tool. If that also doesn't help, an Authorised Care Point is the only place where the Code can be reset ..

If you are referring to the restrictions code for making changes in Settings, you are the one that has to create that, so you would be the only one to know that. If you cannot remember the restrictions passcode, you will have to restore the device as new, since the passcode is contained in the backup. Make sure all of your data is synced to the computer, since you will have to recreate things. You will not be able to use your backup.

If you forgot the Restrictions passcode, the one that you use to enable or disable features on the iPod touch, you'll have to restore the iPod touch to factory settings before you can disable restrictions. These articles provide more details and will walk you through the process:

Hi. My mom handed over her iphone4 for my husband's use temporarily while he's purchasing a new unit. He just had an accident and his phone was broken. Since it's a "Restrictions Passcode" you can't remember, & NOT the phone passcode, ignore Carolyn's post & read here:

a factory reset in this case would not work becoz u still need the security code to get the reset done...if u dont know what the security code is then u wont be able to proceed with the reset
u will have to take the phone to a nokia care point for assistance from a technician - locations are found by clicking the "contact us" link
