Restricted Stock

Is there any configuration whenever I want to use my Restricted stocks whenever my Unrestricted stocks has all been used up?

Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Avaiability check and Transfer of Requirements -> Availability Check -> Availability check with ATP Logic or Against Planning -> Carry Out Control for Availability Check
In this IMG step, you define checking rules for the availability check and allocate them to a checking group.
The checking rule specifies the scope of the availability check for the respective transactions in sales and distribution by specifying precisely which stocks, receipt and issue elements should be taken into account during the availability check.
When specifying the inspection scope for a certain check rule, you can currently select the following stock elements:
o   Safety stock (to be maintained in material master record, MRP data)
o   Stock in transfer in the receiving plant
o   Stock in quality inspection
o   Blocked stock

BAPI_MOSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI3 creating planned order from Restricted Stock

Hi,
We have a requirement where we need to programmatically replicate the Push Production functionality as in /SAPAPO/RRP3 transaction. We are using the BAPI - BAPI_MOSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI3 and it is working fine for conversion of planned orders and Process Orders to component planned/process orders and dependant demand for the parent material. The issue is when we are trying to convert a restricted stock to a planned order and dependant demand using the BAPI, we are getting a message "No valid source of supply could be found". Please let us know if anyone has a resolution to this issue or if any further details are required.

Tlane is not a field name,I wanted to say Transportation Lane(T-Lane) exist or not in the system for that product-location combination.
For the SOURCE_NAME field, it is clearly mentioned in the documentation of BAPI that,
Selection of sources of supply (for example, PP/DS PPM)
ORDER_END_DATE is used as standard as the selection time for the source of supply (in-house production). If ORDER_END_DATE is empty, the value from ORDER_START_DATE is used instead.
If a different time should be used to select the source of supply, this can be set using the EXPLOSION_DATE field.
If a date field is not specified for an order change, the date of the last explosion of this order is used for source of supply selection.
The entries in the MASTER<...> fields also play a role for source determination. That is, possible sources of supply are searched for on the basis of product, location, quantity, and so on.
For the selection of sources of supply, the setting from the product master for plan explosion is used.
If several possible alternative sources of supply are found, the system chooses one source of supply as standard.
However, if you want to select a specific source of supply that has been found, you can use the fields PLAN_NUMBER + PPM_NUMBER, PROD_VERSION, or SOURCE_NAME. Note that only one combination may be used; you cannot use both PLAN_NUMBER and PROD_VERSION at the same time because both are valid for different source of supply types.
Please check with the functional consultant, in plan explosion field in product master what value they have maintained.
Because BAPI will try to get the source of supply name on basis of that field which is mentioned in the documentation.

Restricted stock used in intra-company stock transfer

Hi,
Can anyone give me the link about the description and difference between unrestricted stock, restricted stock and blocked stock?
And for intra-company stock transfer(in one company code), I would like to post goods issue with restriced stock. and in inter-company stock transter and third-party sales, I would not like restricted stock to be used. How can I configure in system?

Thank you for your informaiton.
For different delivery types, such as LF, NLCC, NL, the checking rule are all the same. It is very unreasonalbe
because for NL(stock transfer under one company code), we would like restricted stock used and for LF and NLCC, we only want unrestricted stock. Due to the same checking rule for all the delivery types, changing checking rule will not meet the requirements for all the types. If there is a customizing to set checking rules for different delivery types. If there is not, how can I do modification to meet our requirement?

One step stock transfer from one plant to another is 301 movement type.. Remember the stock should be in unrestricted use. If it is in quality and or blocked the same will not work
2 step process is 303 and 305
From Stock transfer order Documnt type UB with item category as U. Movement type used is 351 and 101

System shud restrict stock posting of 04 inspection lot

Dear ALL,
Pain Area - whenevr Process order get release 03 inporcess inspection lot generates and after Process order get confrimed
O4 inspection lot generates , Evry time we use to process 04 Inpsection lot and then stock posted from Quality to Unrestrcted and finally , urestricted stock goes to market . NOw 03 inpsection lot remains in Created status , system not restriced for 04 activity i.e stock posting . So I want to restrict stock posting of 04 inspection lot if 03 inpsection lot doesnt have UD status .
please suggest .

Do you want to put a hard error when UD is taken for O4 lots, if the corresponsding SF lot is not released? This will stop users releasing the 04 lots and personally I am not in favor of writing a piece of code in User exit at UD and stiop the release of a Finished Batch.
I have worked on similar requirement where users used to check manually the SF batch - UD prior to release a Finished Lot. to reduce the manual work and data transpose errors, we have used a calculated char. SF batch released? and assigned it in the finished product inspection paln.
We copied the standard FM - QEFC_FORMULA_CALC_EXAMPLE and written a logic to look the consumed SF batch is released or not .The Function Module is assigned to a Calculated Characteristic u2013 the user will then be able to Calculate the characteristic during Results Recording of a batch of Finished Product to determine the Release Status of the issued batch of Semi-Finished material, as opposed to having to look it up manually. We looked at the Q-score to decide a SF batch is released , rejected or UD not taken. The Function Module used the name of the Master Inspection Characteristic (MIC) and the Material Type of the Inspection Lot to determine the Inspection Lot Q-Score to return.
With this set up you will not issue a hard error at the time of UD for Finsihed batch at the same time users will know the SF batch status when the results were recorded for Finished batch.
If your requirement is a Hard error, simply go for the user exit suggested and write a logic to look for the Semi Finished Batch consumed.

Restricted and non-restricted stock

Does anyone know where i can find in the BC the KF Restricted and non-restricted stock (in R/3 MARD-SPEME and MARD-LABST)? If there is no standard for this, where do you think is the best extractor to enhance with these fields?

Hi Nuno,
These fields are part of the 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_BF extractors. MARD-SPEME (Blocked Stock) should go directly into 0BLOCKEDSTOCK's in flow and out flow characteristics. MARD-LABST can go into a custom key figure.
If you install the 0IC_C03 cube and the 2lis_03 extractors, then you can look at the update rules. These rules aren't for the timid! In the update rules or on a query, you can select stock type = K and Stock Category <> ( K or E ) for unrestricted use stock (beware this also includes vendor consignment and customer consignment). Blocked stock is identified as Stock Type D and Stock Category <> K or R.

After PO when the stock is posted to storage location the stock is posted to restricted stock by default, where batch management and classification is involved. I want to know why the stock is posted in restricted stock or at least I want to know to convert restricted stock to unrestricted stock.

If you want to change the batch status from restricred to unresticted use you can do in MSC2N
If you want to change the configuration to select Unresticted use goto
SPRO > Logistic general > Batch management > Batch status management > Activate Batch Status Checking in Warehouse Management.

Bringing back the rejected material into un restricted stock

Dear Experts,
We had a PO for 125000 qty of a material agaisnt which the GRN was done by stores
when quality fellow inspected the inspection lot only 25000 were found ok and the same were posted into unrestricted stock through UD
After discussion with vendor now we ara again required to bring back rest 100000 quanitiies to un restricted stocks as the same were routed through 122 movement by system automatically
please suggest

You can do 123 movement type. 123 is the reversal of return delivery to vendour. In MIGO you can do this transaction. If this is not happening you can do GR of that 100000 quantity against PR once again.

Material stock to be posted to restricted stock( urgent please)

This is below my scenario, Please let me the solution .
1. Material to be received thro GR ( MIGO ) and which has to be posted to unrestricted stock.
2. Material will be reserved by the users as on when required thro MB21 T.Code.
3. Reservation does not allow the reservation qty over the quantity available present in unrestricted stock.
4. New Reservation should not allow to create more than available qty. which is taken into the account of already reserved.
5. Consumption should be blocked on actual objective.
6. Plant control/Indented items should be put to restriction on issuance only to indented department.
7.Less impact on account inventory qty and value reconciliation.

1. Through movement type 101, stock will be posted as unrestricted stock.
2. Reservation is created via MB21 only
3 You are defeating the logic of reservation if in you scenario reservation should not exceed the quantity available in stock. If you are running MRP, it will take the reservation into a/c and if any deficit in stock in there it will draw an PR for the same.
4 Same answer as point 3
5 You can restrict consumption against reservation.
6 You can control this thru reservation.
7 Its matter od discipline.

Restricting stock overview (MMBE) based on material or material type?

Can we restrict any user from viewing material stock (MMBE) for particular materials or material group or material types.

HI,
I cannot think of a way this is possible. You can only make these restrictions for standard LIS reporting info structures where the authorisation objects exist.
For example, auth object M_IS_MTART exists for material type covering LIS Standard Analysis: Info Structure / Material Type, similar for material group.
The only other place for material type restrictions in is the material master from object M_MATE_MAR.
However, check with your basis guys maybe they can think of something.

Blocked to Un-restricted stock in same bin

I have a bin with 5 PCE in blocked stock (S). Now, if I want to make it un-restricted in same bin what needs to be done. Please explain.

This would have the affect of moving the WAREHOUSE quantity from blocked to Unrestricted but leave the INVENTORY quantity in blocked stock - causing a difference between IM & WM inventory balances
Current situation IM: 3 S (Blocked) WM: 3 S (Blocked)
 After LT01 (WH only movement) IM: 3 S (Blocked - No change) WM: 3 U (Unrestricted)
This will result in error messages when the users try to issue 3 from stock using MIGO - stating that it is still in Blocked stock

Confirmation as Restricted Stock

Am facing this difficulty. I am try to setup so that whenever I do a Production Order Confirmation (by batched), the Finish Good Batch will be transfer into a restricted location for curing purposes. Can anyone can assist me in providing me a guideline in how to set it up ASAP?

Hi MT Lee.
After production that material needs curing process, i think u can post it as quality stock while confirmation. Once the curing the process is over, quality people will accept the lot and deliver the lot to unrestricted use stock.

Go to MB1B, here specify the movement type 412 and special stock as "E" and press enter
here enter the material, quantity and Sales Order no and line item and then post it.
Now check stock in MMBE
