Restricted vs blocked stock

What is restricted use stock and when would you use this stock type?  What is the difference between restricted use and blocked stock?
Also, what is the difference between "stock in transit" and "transit/transfer" (in MB52)?

Report MB52 showing Restricted-Use stock which restricted in the batch master record using the status key.
I found following help document for this,
Batch in Restricted-Use Stock
Specifies that the batch is included in restricted-use stock.
Use
If, though a batch has the status "restricted", you want to use a goods movement to post a quantity to unrestricted-use stock, the quantity is posted to restricted-use stock and not to unrestricted-use stock.
If the status of a batch is set to restricted, the total unrestricted-use stock is transferred to restricted-use stock by means of a transfer posting. A material document is created.
You cannot change the status of a batch (unrestricted/restricted) in a goods movement, only with the following functions:
by maintaining the batch master record manually
using the control function provided in the QM system
Configurations for Restricted-Use Stock
For planning purposes, restricted-use stock is treated like blocked stock, that is, it is either available or not available, depending on your system configuration.
Withdrawals from restricted-use stock are either possible or not possible, depending on your system configuration.
The status of a batch can be considered in batch determination, that is, you can search for unrestricted or for restricted batches.

    Hi
Stock other than Un-restricted is restricted stock  eg. quality, blocked, reserved etc.  You can consume the material stock in restricted use .
Blocked Stock is a kind of Dead stock . You cant use it without changing its status .

  • T code QA11, quantity can not be posted to blocked stock

For Inspection lot with system status is   INSP RREC SPRQ, when user tries to perform QA 11 to post stock to blocked stock the system does not allow as "to blocked stock field" is greyed out and also can not chnage the storage location on that screen.
I have checked the material already exists in the WH/storage location also inspection charachterstics are corrct not sure what else to check.please advise.

Does not seem like authorisation restriction since user is able to process other QA11 for the same plant/WH and storage location. Does not seem like customisation either since all " Quantity to be posted "options and storage location are greyed out under inspection lot stock Tab
After Accept atleast system should allow posting to "unrestricted stock " but thats not available either.
For the same material/plant/WH, I am able to sucessfully post stock when system status is -REL  CALC SPRQ but in this case the status is -INSP RREC SPRQ, what does this signify. Please help

  • Unable to GR to blocked stock

    Hi Expert,
I select stock type as block stock during GR using MIGO
After i post ,i checked the material document shows unrestricted stock instead of blocked stock.
But i try GR for other material type,it is working
Is there any configuration or setting cause this?
    Thank you

    hello
if you want move your stock to blocked stock, while posting the GRn select the mov type 103. once your testing complete take it as a un restricted with 105.
if mateirla defined as quality views and inspection lot method, so system post the goods to quality only with mov type 101.
then do stock transfet with mov type 321.

  • Withdraw material from blocked stock at subcontractor

    Hi
We have Third Party Order process where in materials are directly received to subcontracting vendor stock, when Goods receipt is posted in receving plant.
Due to some error, few stocks have been posted to Blocked stock at Subcontractor.
We would like to transfer the stock to unrestricted stock / scrap the stock from Subcontractor blocked stock.
Kindly let me know your opinion to make transfer posting.
    Thanks and Regards
    Rajkumar

    Dear Yadav,
    1.
    Firste you wrote:
Due to some error, few stocks have been posted to Blocked stock at Subcontractor.
    After that you stated this
It is about restricted stock at subcontractor.
    2.
And materials are not subjected to batch management. So we cannot use MSC2N.
So, your first statement was that the material is in "blocked" stock, after that you stated that it is in restricted-use stock. But you also stated that the material is not batch managed.
"Restricted-use" is the status of the batch, so your material should be batch managed if its status is restricted-use.

As I wrote you can use MB1A +553O if your material is in QI stock, if it is in restricted use you can't. If it is in restricted-use, please use MSC2N to change its status to unrestricted and after that comes MB1A + 551O.
What is the real stock type the stock you are speaking? Who "posted" it to that stock type and how?
    Please give EXACT information.
    Thanks,

  • Movement type from restricted to block

    Dear ALL,
I have a scenario of Deadline Monitoring, in which one the material date get expired it went to restricted stock and from there directly to block stock..So which movement type should i used for such scenario. We used presently QA05 T-Code.
    Regards,
    Asif

    Hi Asif,
I assume that you have decided to go with the Z program suggested earlier.
Now You just want to make sure that records passed using this program are of QA07.
If TCODE2_MKPF is not available in MSEG, then i would go with reference to MKPF table.
First of all i shall get the list of restricted batches from MCHB (Or May be MCH1),
Then Pass Material, Plant, Batch and Movement type as 341 to MSEG,
And then i would pass outcome of this to table MKPF and check field TCODE2.
Dont forget that I am currently not able to check in my system whether system puts QA07 in TCODE2 field of MKPF at the time of 341 mvt (When it is restricted). Please confirm before proceeding.
moreover, i did not get about the effect your team is concerned about.
It will be good if you execute by yourself, means check these tables with right sequence and at the end you will be able to judge whether this logic gives you correct list of batches needs to be transferred to blocked.
    Amol.

  • Adding Quality blocked stock in to warehouse stock

    Hi All
I cannot find a way of adding Quality Restricted stock in to our warehouse in one movement.
Normally we use MB1A mvt 222 to add returned unused stock in to the warehouse with reference to a WBS. Then we use MB1B mvt 322 or 344 to quality restrict or block the stock.
I now have a need to return the stock in to the warehouse and quality restrict or block at the same time. I do not want to return the materials as unrestricted stock and then quality restrict/block them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    Darren

You can achieve this with creating "scope of planning" in OM0E or special procurement keys

  • Need non-return blocked stock option

    Hello,
Currently we move certain types of missing/damaged inventory to restricted (Blocked) stock, movements 657/658. That way it does not flow through ATP, but it is being comingled with actual restricted product from customer returns. We would like them to be completely separate stocks. We currently transfer through MIGO and we do not have QM setup.
    Gary

    Thanks. We have 2 scenarios:
    1. For customer returns, we use 657 in order to block it so that we can look it over before returning to unrestricted.
    2. Sometimes, warehouse staff comes across stock that appears to be damaged or appears logically as unrestricted, but is not where it should be. In these cases we do a 344 to blocked and then do research, then we either scrap it or return to unrestricted.
My requirement is to put scenario 2 into a separate bucket, so they are not mingled with customer returns.

  • How to identify the material's status within GR blocked stock

    Hi Experts:
We have the goods receive for purchase order process is that all the goods from supplier reference to PO should be move to GR blocked stock first(103), and release to un-restricted stock after goods quality inspection(105).
Those quality is not accepted goods should be remained in the GR blocked stock for a long time and some of them will be returned to supplier and some of them will be finial accecpted to un-resticted stock after repair. My question is how can we seperate the material's status from normal goods receive within the GR blocked stock becasue our client want to analysis the GR blocked stock. or if possible those quantites can be move to our no-valued stock? or we can active the vendor batch to seperate?  Would you please give me some advice on that?
    thanks and best regards
    Xincheng

    HI Jin
GR blocked stock is treated as non valuated stock in the system because while posting the material doc with movement type 103 system does not create any accounting entries so those are non valuated stocks till you dont do 105.
As far as report is concerned you can pull the material documents created with movement type 103 in the system for an particular plant and date range this will solve your purpose using trasaction MB51.
As you are planning to go for vendor batch management I belive it will give further split up quantity within the GR block stock, Yes u should go for it.
    Award if usefull

  • GR blocked stock relase

    Hi
    In stanadr SAP,
When we post goods to GR blocked stock (103 mvmt) there will be no accounting docs generated
Accounting docs will get generated when GR blocked stock was released (105 mvmt)
Here my client has his requirement like below
When he releases through 105 mvmt the goods should go to quality stock and no accounting document has to generate.
The accounting documents should generate after the stock comes to unrestricted stock only.
How is it possible to do so.. please suggest.
    Regards
    Jupudi

    hi
The purpose of quality stock is to block the materials from being used till they are certified. Now you ahve alraedy taken the materials in by 103. Now From there you are taking it to quality, even though accounting documents  will eb generated, you will not be paying  until unless the good part of the materials are sent to un-restricted stock. The rejetced part you return it to vendor back in quality itself during Usage decission. Your accoutning entres are clean as you are accepting onyl the good part of the materials. The accounting entries for total material duirng 105 gets adjusted during the rejected materials when  they are returned  back to the vendor. I believe this is a normal practice followed everywhere. Additionally if you want you can set more controls in Invoice verification.

  • Report for material moved from blocked stock to unrestricted stock

    Hi,
Is there a standard report in WM showing list and qty of materials moved from blocked stock to unrestricted stock.
    Regards,
    Pratap

It would have been easy if there was a specific WM movement type for such transfer but due to the reason that the WM 309 is connected to various IM movement types, there is no direct report to get this information.
Conversely, you may use MB51 with the combination of the WM managed storage location and movement type for your purpose. If there are multiple storage locations assinged to the same warehouse then you may put a range in the selection criteria.

  • Post serialized part from free to block stock with a follow up action

    Hi,
I try to post a serialized part from free to block stock, but the standard function modules QMLR_FREE_TO_BLOCKED_STOCK,  QMLR_FREE_TO_BLOCKED_STOCK_ST2 work good with not serialized parts, but it doesn't works with serialized one.
I create quality notification with serial number reference in RQM00-SERIALNR field, when I execute the follow-up function the M7175 error message appears.
Someone know a solution to this issue?
    Thanks
    Marianna

Hi The standard FM will not update the serial no for the material. So when you are doing the material movement through follow up action system can not move the material with out serial no. So you can change the functional module aith help of abaper to fetch the data from quality notification field.
