Restricting Ad-Hoc Conferences on 4501 MCU

Does any one know how to restrict Ad-Hoc conferences on MCU 4501 running 4.3(2.18).  I don't want just anyone to have the ability to create an Ad-Hoc conference from the Auto Attendant on the MCU.

I don't believe so. Fundamentally there is not much difference between scheduling a conference and then joining it, as opposed to doing an ad-hoc conference on a conversation. Ad-hoc conferences have an 8 hour expiry so you can match that in your
ConferenceScheduleInformation, along with your other settings, and then join it immediately after scheduling it.

  • Ad hoc Conference restrictions

I have an India CUCM Cluster that needs to have restrictions on ad hoc conference calls that are being made between three participants (1-India PSTN caller, 2-Internal India Cluster phone and 3-Internal North American Cluster). India law doesn't permit this type of a call to happen.
What is the best way to restrict the India PSTN to be connected to the North American Cluster?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi Jim,
This problem was solved by cisco back in cucm7, the docs can be found here.

  • MCU Ad Hoc Conference Auto-Disconnect

    Dear all,
Is it possible to disconnect all remaning participants from a multiway-created ad hoc conference after person, who create, leave the conference?
Scenario is a person create a multiway conference between 3 conference rooms and after a while leave conference.
I need to auto disconnect other 2 participants.
    Is it possible?
    Used MCU : 5310 - version 4.4(3.67)
    Best Regards,
    Mesut

    Mesut,
The only way you could do this is by associating the conference creator as the chairperson and the additional participants as guests. Distinguishing between Chairperson and Guests in multiway is not possible.
If you add Conductor this may be possible in the next version with the use of different PINs for chairperson and guests.

  • Ad-Hoc conference using TC GUI

I have several TC 7.3 endpoints that are registered to CUCM 10.5 and are able to initiate ad-hoc conferences, using Conductor, by pressing the "Add" button on the Touch 10.  My question is, is it possible to do this though the endpoint GUI?  Adding a second call in the GUI doesn't seem to do the same thing. I'm assuming because CUCM needs the "Add" button pressed to initiate the ad-hoc escalation to conductor.  Thanks  Mike

    Hi Java,
    Thanks for information!
I have the CUCM 7.1.3, only with the MCU and CUCM can enable this functionality?

    Hi,
I wonder how is possible using an ad hoc videoconference showing in my ip phones and softphones all participants simultaneously in reduced size. I've seen this feature enabled, but I wonder how to enable, wanted to know if I need any additional application.
    Thank you!

  • CCM 4.1 ad hoc conference drops first participant

    Hi All,
Not sure if anyone can help here:
My problem is in one of my locations, when a user does an ad-hoc conference using the softkey, and they join another party in to the conference, the first dialled number is being dropped...
Has anyone come across this before? Any known fixes?
    Thanks

    Hi!
It could be caused by a codec issue. Check what codecs are you using between regions. Remember that if you are using a SW CFB it only speaks G.711 so probably you will invoke a XCODER. If the first user does not have a XCODER on the MRGL on his DP the call might fail.
    Hope this helps.

  • How Can I Disable AD-HOC conference(Meet Now )

    Dear
How Can I "Disable Ad-Hoc Conference" in our Organize and Disable Meet now conference in lync client by CS- policies  ?

I don't believe there is a way to specifically disable "Meet Now" from the Lync client. Are you looking to disable all meetings, or just those through the Meet Now (ad-hoc) button.
You could use Set-CsConferencingPolicy set the maximum meeting participants to "2" if you intend to disable conferencing altogether. It's probably not ideal.
Is there a specific reason why you want to disable it?

  • "Time Remaining" counter on MCU Conferences page

    Hello!
When scheduling a conference in TMS involving a MCU, after the conference starts the remaining time as expressed in the MCU is around 15 minutes longer than what you scheduled.
Is this some sort of padding that TMS sends to the MCU, kind of like TMS considering an endpoint in an ad hoc call as being busy for the next 5 minutes?
    This is seen in the following combinations: TMS14.3 (beta)/MCU 4.4(3.54) & TMS13.0/MCU 4.3(2.32)
    Thanks!

    Hi Kjetil,
If that is the case... then when will the "Audio notifications" from the MCU play indicating that the Conference is about to end in X minutes. Because as far as the MCU is concerned then the conference will only end 15mins after it is scheduled to end by the TMS. Therefore the MCU will not get a chance to play the  "Audio notifications" as the TMS will tear down the conference 15 minutes prior. Hence if we have an Audio only participant in the conference they will never hear the "Audio notifications" that the conference is scheduled to end soon.
Below is the definition of the Audio notifications Home > Settings > Conferences from the MCU (MCU 4501) help file
    Audio notifications
Audio notifications Allows various audible in-conference features to be enabled or disabled.
    The options are:
Conference timing: audible messages to indicate when the conference's scheduled end time is approaching.
Join and leave indications: audible messages indicating when other participants join and leave the conference.
Conference status: audible status messages for example indicating to a participant that he is the only participant in a conference.

    Mayank

  • Conference MCU 3511

    Hi,
How I can create a video conference in the MCU 3511?. The MCU 3511 has been agregated than conference bridge, and his status is registered in the call manager, in the Media Resource Group has been agregated the conference bridge 3511. In the Media Resource Group List contains tha MCU. And also I had created the MeetMe number. How I star video conferencing in my thelepne IP with Video Capabilities Enable?. Which is the number the users call for initiate a video conference?

To initiate a multipoint call using an IP/VC 3540 or 3510 MCU, the endpoint dials the appropriateservice prefix followed by a conference ID. (The conference ID can be up to 9 digits long.) If a service on an MCU is 40880 for a 384-kbps call, the user might dial 4088011223, the call would be routed to the MCU using the 40880 service prefix, and the MCU would initiate an ad hoc conference with an ID of 4088011223. Users can also initiate a call and invite the other participants by dialing the conference
ID, the invite string **, and the E.164 address of the another participant.

  • Basic Conference AD HOC

    Hi.
I'm working on a home lab with a cucm 9.x on a amd cpu and  i realize that the IP Voice Media Streaming App doesn't work on this amd architecture, when i try to do a Conference between 3 IP Phones a No Conference Bridge message are displayed on the ip phone screen, my doubt it's are completely neccesary the IP Voice Media Streaming App to use the internal DSP of the phones to make a basic ad hoc conference between them.
    Thanks, i appreciate your help.

I believe the IP Voice Media Streaming App must be active for your software conference bridge to work per this doc http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/7_1_2/ccmsys/accm-712-cm/a05confb.html#wp1035397

  • MCU 3515 conference control

Hi, i have an mcu 3515 12 ports, i have already configured the IP adresses of the MC and EMP..etc.
I configured a service that use SCCP, but in the Conference control i can't use this service to create a conference. Does Conference Control of mcu support creation of SCCP conference?

On entering the MCU web page there is an option to enter a conference id in order to view the conference details.
    This is not operational.
    Workaround:
Log in as administrator or operator. Select the Conference Control button on the left hand side of the page. A new page with a list of the current conferences is displayed. Select the conference of choice to view the conference details.
    Try the bug - CSCsh68946

  • SCCP Transcoders and Conference doesn't register.

    Dear Friends,
I having a strange issue, I have configured my 3945 GW with SCCP for Conferencing and Transcoding. Also on the CUCM Side, i have used the Cisco IOS Enhanced media termination Point for this setup but I see the transcoders are not getting registered. I had reset the items from both the sides but No luck.
In the "Debug SCCP all" i do see error 257 in socket.

  • VideoConference MCU

In the web page of the MCU, I try to Create a Conference, I select the prefix (default 81 type Video) and I enter the unique number and when I do click in the boton "create" this message is showed: Error: No Resource are available. And the EMP module is registered in the MCU the conference with meet-me and ad-hoc conference works withou problem ... Why happen this ?

81 is for h323 by default.
and probably you use all video ports for SCCP, go to MCU>Protocol>SCCP and check how many ports are assigned for sccp.

  • Conference calls all of a sudden do not work??

We have a Call Manager 5.1 with MGCP controlled gateways. Out of no where our ablility to ad hoc conference call does not work. We connect the calls and no one can hear one another. Any suggestions as to what could be the cause? Any feed back would be great.

    Vicky

  • How to enable Conference Chaining - CUCM 6.1.5

How to enable Conference Chaining on CUCM 6.1.5?
Currently, when Phone A conferences Phone B and Phone C , then Phone B & Phone C cannot conference anyone.
They get the message - "Key is not Active" .
How can we change this behaviour ?

Found the answer - Need to "Enable Advance Ad-Hoc Conference" under service parameters.
