Restricting mail deletion on group mail id

Question

We are using a group email id, [email protected], which has been migrated from Lotus notes to Outlook. All the employees in the listing compliance dept. have access to this email id.
We receive emails containing critical information from our listed companies on daily basis. It is possible that inadvertently an email containing critical information may be deleted by the user. Thus it is required that only specific individuals in the dept.
should be able to delete any email received in this email id and rest others should have only view rights and they shud not able to delete mails.

Hi,
If the above clarification DJ Grijalva provided is not your situation, and you mean that
[email protected] is not a distribution group, just a normal mailbox. Then you can grant them different permissions to this mailbox. If you don't want users to delete messages, grant them ReadPermission only.

What's more, in Exchange 2013, even though users have permissions to delete messages, you can use In-Place Hold to preserve mailbox items deleted by users.
