Restricting Prod Orders for Sub assemblies.

H Gurus,
My client has a requirement of not to have any production orders for sub assemblies as there are lot of production orders to be taken care for production.
They need only one production order so that they will track w. r. t this production order .
Please help me which are the possible ways to meet this requirement.
Thanks in advance.
Naveen.

Hello,
if you set this indicator in MRP view, then planning itself will not happen for components. but doing this, how production of sub assembly will be taken care.
I guess question was about tracking of all production orders of assembly and sub assembly. Production orders needs to be there for both to meet the requirement in production.
Here, Collective Orders can be used.
You need to set "special procurement key" 52 for all the sub assemblies. now when planning will be done. it will be done at header as well as sub assembly level.
after conversion to production order, you can see header material order as collective order and sub assembly orders below it.
you can now track w.r.t Header material only, no need to track with sub assembly.
Please refer to SAP help http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/a5/63198843a211d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
for collective orders
hope this resolve this query

  • Swap between two different item categories in sales orders for sub-contracting

    Dear gurus,
my requirement is to have the ability to swap between two different item categories for sales orders for sub-contracting.
This should be controlled by a combination of the material and a value maintained the Usage field in the Customer Material Info Record (for example by entering a ‘V’).  A combination of Sales Doc Type, Item Cat Group and Usage should result in the creation of a purchase requisition.
In the event that a process order is required instead of a purchase requisition (i.e. the product is to be manufactured in-house instead of sub-contracted) the user must have the ability to change the Item Category within the sales order to produce a process order.
The user would just change the item category within the sales order, and the system would automatically remove the purchase requisition assigned to the SO, and create a process order and assign it to the SO.
Can you suggest any possible solution?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Majlo,
In my system, I checked.  First created sales order with third party line item and then changed item category to normal item category.
Till Purchase order not created, I can change Item category of my sales order line item.
In this case SAP inform by log and once save delete purchase requisition of that line item .
For this you need to assign another item category as an manual item category in SPRO Item category assignment.
After this user can manually change item category to other one manually, if PO do not exist.
Please let me know if your query is different.

  • Restricting prod order quantity from being higher than sales order quantty

    Dear Experts,
I create production order interactively through co08 ( prod order with respect to sales order). the prod order automatically picks up the quantity in the sales order which is desired, but this order quantity field in the prod order is editable (i.e can be made higher or lower). Please how do I restrict this prod order quantity from being  higher than the sales order quantity?i mean what should be done to make system disallow the prod order qty being fixed higher than thesales order qty?

    Hi,
Even though you create the production in refernce to the SO, the order quantity can be alter.
This is a normal behaviour of the system.
To restrict any change in the order quantity, you can use tarnsaction variant for CO08. T code is SHD0.
Secondly you can use the following enhancements to restrict the same,
    PPCO0006
    PPCO0007
    Hope this helps you.

  • Transfer Cost for Sub Assembly

The client have seveal sub assemblies that are transferred from other plant. However in certain scenario the current plant can make this sub assembly. In the buying plant BOM exists for these sub assemblies. Now, how can achive the following -
1: Transfer cost from selling plant to buying plant
2: Since the major quantity is transferred from selling plant, this transfer cost should be et as standard cost for this sb assembly
3: The cost from BOM roll up should NOT be set as standard cost
Thanks for your input on this.

    Dear Anusha,
If your sub-assembly (semi-Finished ) products are having a released standard cost estimate for the
period, again while taking the costing run for some other FERT(Higher level assembly)materials the same
will be taken into consideration for this new material, and again the system wont make new calculations
    for the same.
Say suppose if B is a sub-assembly which is used in making A and C.
Now let's assume first you take a cost rollup for A ,at that time the system will do the calculation for B
also.Provided if you are doing it in CK40N.
Again while taking the cost rollup for C,already calculated value for B will be used.
    check and revert back.

  • Restricting Purchase order for a particular material type

    Hi All,
How do I restrict a purchase order document type to be created for a particular material type.
For eample PO document type NB should allow to create for materials with the material type ROH only and restrict the other material types by issuing an error.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Regard,
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
This is not directly achievable in std. You will have to implement the check in a user exit, e.g. the BAdI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST method PROCESS_ITEM.
But why this strange reqmt? Maybe there's another solution whuch would keep you in std?

  • Delivery order for sub-contract processing scenario

    Hi experts,
We got a requirement from our users to sub-contract certain production processing steps (or called external processing per SAP). Same part number would be used for the goods issue and goods receipt. But would like to make the delivery for the goods issuing as the delivery for normal sales parts. (Purchase order -> Delivery order -> Shipping and Packing)
Sub-contract processing will generate purchase order like service order which only contains service fee item, and we found that no outbound delivery order can be created with reference to purchase order in standard SAP.
Have you experienced such scenario before and could share to us please?
    Regards

When moving subcontracting part to your subcontractor you can do it via:
    1. simple goods movement
    2. delivery
1 Simple goods movement (transfer posting)
    - /w reference to PO (MB1B + 541)
    - w/o reference to PO (MB1B / MIGO + 541)
    2 Delivery
Using the before mentioned ME2O you can create the delivery w/o reference to PO
Please note that even if you use the MB1B541PO reference solution, system just suggests the component qunantity on the PO w/o making a real link between PO and goods movement. You can example do the MB1B541PO reference "as many times" as you want...
So, as per my best knowledge there's no solution for your requirement.
I guess one reason of system's behaviour might be that provision of compoenents doesn't depend on one single PO - if you want to reduce your shipment cost you will send out lots of components at once, more than the amount needed for one call-off.

    Dear Siddharth
You can try with any of the following user eixts
    -  User exits in the program MV45AFZZ - USEREXIT_READ_DOCUMENT
    -  User exits in the program MV45AFZZ - USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE
    -  User-Exits in program MV45AFZB - USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAK

  • Restrict Sales Order for Delivery Creation

    Dear Experts,
We are supplying material to our customer (He is our subsidiary company). All the material codes within the two companies (i.e., our customer and us) are same. My customer is creating Purchase Order on us and through BDC program auto sales order is getting generated at our company. Pricing conditions are also copied from the PO to SO. We are not maintaining any pricing conditions for this customer.
My customer wants to supply the materials only against the sales orders created during the month only. Example: If auto sales orders are created during August'09 till 31st Aug, delivery should be created before 31st August only. From 1st Sept'09 onwards delivery should not create against the open sales orders created till 31st aug'09. When we try to do the delivery, system should not allow for creation of delivery from 1st Sept'09 onwards.
Can u please guide me whether we have any standard process for this to control the delivery creation? or we need to go for any development?
Your early reply in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Murthy SD

hi you can use scheduling aggrement concept for the same.
Alternatively , you can write logic in the exits .
    program:
    MV50AFZ1
    code:
    loop at xlips.
select single vbegdat venddat from VEDA into (VEDA-VBEGDAT,VEDA-VENDDAT)
                                                   where vbeln = xlips-vgbel
                                                     and vposn = xlips-vgpos.
                 if sy-subrc = 0.
if VEDA-VBEGDAT is initial and VEDA-VENDDAT is initial.
                 else.
                  if sy-datum ge VEDA-VBEGDAT and sy-datum le  VEDA-VENDDAT.
                  else.
MESSAGE  'sales order referred is outside validity range' type 'E'.
                  endif.
                 endif.
                 endif.
              endloop.
the code is to be writeen in exit of delivery i.e whenever delivery is being created wr to order it checks the dates in order

  • TECO status for Prod order for which Post processing record exists

    Dear PP Gurus,
We use  BAPI_PRODORD_COMPLETE_TECH to TECO production order. Program doesn't TECO orders , if there are Post processing records exsiitng for order giving message "Postprocessing records for order 1000068 prevent technical closing" .  I think this is standard BAPI msg.
When same BAPI is run in Foreground mode, it gives "Confirmation Prompt" , 'Order 1000068 : There are still reprocessing records . Set order to Technically Complete" with YES/NO/Cancel option. You can save TECO by selecting YES
Is there a way to achieve this in Background mode.
Thank you much in advance for help,
    Regards,
    Jatin

    Hello Jatin,
Call function DIALOG_SET_NO_DIALOG before the BAPI, then system handles the BAPI as in the non-dialog mode and the pop-up does not appear
    Refer KBA 1986661 - PP-SFC: BAPI_PRODORD_COMPLETE_TECH Popup

  • Sales Order for assembly

    Hi,
Customer on 11510.2 does not have WIP, MRP and APS.
    Requirement:
Sales Order for an assembly needs to be entered. Customer wants to procure each component of the assembly. The components are received in a warehouse and then issued to another vendor who assembles the components. The assembled item is received in the warehouse, packed and shipped.
    Sol:
As this item involves assembly operations, ATO Model can be a fit. However, ATO model will generate a '*' item that can be procured and shipped. The components cannot be procured. As such this will not suit the client requirement.
PTO models do not allow assemblies and hence cannot be suggested.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
Since there is no WIP, outside processing should be carried outside oracle.
Issue of components can be represented using Misc issue to vendor sub inv (sub inv created to represent stock issued to vendor)
Assembly can be received using Misc receipt and then a simultaneous issue from vendor subinv will be done to represent consumption of components.
    Can anyone suggest an alternative?

You might have considered these options, but just in case you haven't!!
is the final assembly going to be configurable? If so, then wouldn't PTO Model be the best candidate? In any case you are not assembling the items in Oracle, then you would be able to create PO's for individual components.
If the final assembly is going to be fixed, then can't you create a simple BOM? The customer orders for the final product, and the demand would be placed for the components?
    Hope these helps.

  • Restriction for sub contract PO creation

    Dear expert,
We are having discrete manufacturing process,
Some assemblies are manufactured using  production orders as well as Sub contract PO.
    We are using split valuation.
Now our requirement is suppose one assembly has been assigned to Subcontract purchase order, then the system should not allow the creation of production order for that assembly.
    How to map this scenerio?
    Thanks in advance,
    K. Subhash

    Hi Shankar,
I have not tried in one company code, any way you can try this with creating another plant as subcontracting vendor & process in the same way how you process for sub contracting.
    1) Create plant as sub-contracting vendor
    2) create po with item category L
    3) send components
    4) receive materials.
but since it is within a company code check for legality involved with FI, you can customize special transaction key for this may be with movement types since it is within a company code, that is the reason i asked you is it within a co.code

  • Inbound delivery for Sub-Contracting Scheduling Agreement

    Hi All,
I am working on inbound delivery creation --> PGR for sub-assembly (Semi-finished product) which we receive from sub-contracting vendor through scheduling agreement. At time of PGR, it should do MVT#101 for sub-assembly and 543-O for raw components.
I already created JIT/FRC releases and did PGI (MVT # 541-O) for raw components. Now I am manually creating inbound delivery (VL31n) to post PGR. When I am doing PGR with VL60, I am getting below error.
Any help or suggestion please ?
As observation, I have seen that in inbound delivery I am only seeing sub-assembly (semi-finished) product. I am not able see "SC Component" tab which I have seen on other environment (ECC 6.0 with EHP4). Is it related to system limitation where we can't do PGR for sub-contracting ?
    Thanks.

    Hi AKPT,
Sorry if i miss understood but note 352243 says to refer note: 338119
"In the current release, it is not possible to process the components to be cleared when you post the goods receipt for the inbound delivery. (See Notes 338119, 197864 and 199703 also).
However when you implement these corrections, the error log is also displayed for the subitems to be cleared and further processing can be carried as described in Note 338119."
When I refer note : 338119, there is no correction. Am I missing anything ?
Again my issue is I am not able to perform Post Goods Receipt. Even after doing PGR, if system do 543 for raw component, I am fine.
    Thanks.

    Ravi

  • Restriction of order creation

    hi all,
we are working of Ps-PP scenarion.
orders are created w r t wbs element. in our company by mistakely users created two orders for a assembly for the same wbs element. one by converting plann order to production and another one with CO10 tcode.
i want to restric this duplication orders creation pls help.
    thanks in advance.

    Dear
If you do not want to create order refernce to WBS directly , then  put a authorisation control with the help of your Basis team for SAP Txn -CO10 because you may be running MRP on WBS and geneated Planned order refernce to WBS and conver them to PO.
Otherwise you can goto CMOD and put a screen variant at User level for CO10 specfic to user
