Restricting sale of books in iBooks?

We would like to sell books developed with iBook Author to our customers but only our customers. We don't want to make the books available to the public and our competitors. These are technical books that support our products. Is this possible?

A refund may not be possible since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:

It's possible they'll make an exception for you.

New book on iBooks Author now in store

Maria Langer's long awaited second book on iBooks Author is now in the store. It was created using iBooks Author and includes 3 hours of screencast video instruction.

The book needs to have page turning features, links between pages, complex sub-sections and an icon on the home screen.
I do this quite easily!!!! BUT not using Apple software.
Is your client looking for a sales tool on iPads or a brochure/catalogue for customers to use on their computers?
I create .exe file with and without flip page and doing what you want.. only for PC / Windows.
These are usless on Macs unless the user is prepared to buy an app to use .exe files.
You do not mention if your client is on PC or Macs and the other issue is.. whatever they use... their sales contacts will (collectively) be using both OS and you need to cater for that.
I use two PC applications depending on what is wanted by the client. ( one is flip page 'tother is not)
My client will use a mix of Keynote presentations and product video wrapped in iBooks on iPads as a sales tool.
They have their products in a downloadable.exe format and also PDF- which is not interactive.
Although I am looking for an app that can do it better.
Fact is, there are applications that do what you and I want but none work on both OS - at least that I can find.
Take into consideration sales persons "on the road" are using laptops and iPads for presentations and more are adopting iPads.

Publishing Book on iBook Store - How Long To Wait?

Does any good soul know how long it usually takes to a book to get published on iBook Store after it gets delivered via iTunes Producer App? I uploaded a title about 5 days back and I see that the status of my book is 'Pending'. I am quite curious if somebody has a good experience about the waiting time in his/her case. And this will be really helpful to estimate or have a speculation about nearby searchable status of the book on iBook Store after the date the book got delivered via iTunes Producer. Reply is highly appreciated.

For me its always been 5 working days.
Also make sure On the Rights and Pricing page that the Sales Start Date for the country in question is in the past and Cleared for Sale shows Yes.

If I post my book to iBooks does this mean I cannot sell my book at the same time on Kindle?

I do not understand lawyer speak. Apple's EULA confuses me. It's a simple question. If I sell my book on Kindle through Amazon does this mean I cannot simultaneouslty sell the same book on iBook?

What do you mean by "Apple's iBook EULA"? Are you referring to the document entitled "Software License Agreement for IBooks Author"? If not, what exactly?
The iBooks Author license agreement has nothing to say about (and no relevance to) books you create with some other software. It also places no restrictions on books you create with iBooks Author but not in the .ibooks format (which format can only be read on an iPad in any case). The other formats which iBooks author can produce are PDF and Text.

I thought So too but then I went to Itunes Library and try and buy a single song from an album for $1.29. Now my Itunes Gift card balance is $ 7.10 as I mentioned earlier. it still did not let me buy and kept trying billing my Visa card.
Should I restart my PC and Itunes and retry. What do you suggest?

Well, to paraphrase the old line, "What're you gonna believe, that email or your own lying eyes?"
The first thing I'd recommend trying is to power down your iPad (press & hold Sleep/Wake until the red OFF slider appears, then slide it to shut down), and then boot it back up and try again. You're resetting a bunch of state signals by doing that and this simple action (the first of a series recommended by Apple in your Users Guide) will quite often clear up these sorts of problems.

There should be a Library button on the top left. If not ap the middle of the screen to get it to appear.

I was unable to delete a book sample from my iPhone 5s running iOS 7. This seems to be what worked for me. I went to the Library and clicked "edit" in upper right side of the screen. I then tapped one time on the book I wanted to remove and a blue check appeared at the bottom right corner of that book (presumably you could tap several at a time) Anyway, when the blue check is on the book, you will see in the upper left of the screen the word "Delete" (mine was in red) I clicked that and then a confirming dialog came up from the bottom of the screen with the choices of "delete" or "cancel". I chose "delete" and the book was gone. Hope this helps.

Yes, you would need an internet connection to download. Once that's done and you've opened the epub in iBooks the first time, you should not need WiFi again.

I just got the iBooks update and that fixed the problem, except the book covers look like they were done in a government printing office.

How do I get an epub book into IBook to read on my iPad

I have a lot of eBooks, used on a Kindle and have tried to get iBook to see them on my iPad. It does not.
1. I converted from azw to epub with Calibre
2. I tried dragging and dropping the file onto iTunes->iPad->Books and onto iTunes->iPad which didn't work.
3. I used Add to Library from the File menu and they imported ending up in iTunes->Library->Books.
4. I tried dragging each book from iTunes->Library->Book to iTunes->iPad->Books and onto iTunes->iPad and it would not work
5. I Synched my iPad and cannot find any of the epub books with iBook. Nothing but Winnie the Poo which came with iBooks.
What and I doing wrong?
