Restricting users froms uploading files greater than certain size in km.

Hi,
How can we restric users to upload files in KM which are greater than certain size (5MB)?Awaiting for reply.

Hi,
It is out of standard you must develop your own upload command (SAP Developer Studio).

  • Restricting users from uploading files greater than certain size in Kpro

    Hi,
How can we restric users from uploading files in SAPoffice which are greater than certain size (5MB)?
    Awaiting for reply.

    Hello Gino,
you go to Tcode DC10, in the define document type,
there is a option file size, this gives you restriction , only if you are not using KPro and content server.
If you are using Kpro and content server, then please do the enhancement (SE80, package ,CV)
With the help of this you can restrict and put the warinig message if your original size is exceed.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Restrict Users from saving files on Local PC but forced to Network Shared Location

    Hi,
We have the Domain in Windows 2003 Standard.
How can I restrict users from saving files in their Local PC?
Also, need to forced them to save the files in Network Location with permissions...
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You can create a file screen to prevent users from saving files on a certain volume. File screens are used to block specific types of files from being saved on a volume or in a folder tree. A file screen affects all folders in the designated path. You need
to update the server to Windows Server 2003 R2 to install the File Server Resource Manager.

  • How to restrict users from uploading malicious files(exe, dll, etc) & limit file size in a webform

Hello, please i have a file atachment field in a form on my site. I want to restrict the size of the file that can be uploaded and the type. It's a vacancy page and I want candidates to only upload doc and pdf files. I want to also limit the file size to 50mb only. How can this be done within the BC system.
    Thanks.

The file extension can't be trusted, like the mime-type it can be faked by a malicious user. Also this method can just be avoided altogether by anyone who has javacript turned off. Using javascript for this is not even remotely secure.
Isn't there a way to allow file uploading but specify a whitelist of filetypes (preferably checked using byte headers or some effective method) somewhere in admin?
    Liam Dilley wrote:
    Hey there,
You can do the file extension with jquery for example. The basic aspect of that is:
    var ext = $('#my_file_field').val().split('.').pop().toLowerCase();
    if($.inArray(ext, ['exe','dll','jpg','jpeg']) == -1) {
        alert('invalid extension!');
So what is hapepning there is that it checks the value of the field when someone has added the file and checks the file extensiona and produces an alert but you can do as you need.
You could run this on hover of the submit button, on change of the actual file attachement field or on click of the submit button in the checks before it submits.
BC limits files to 100mb anyway so you should be ok on that front, they wont be able to be crazy uploading.

  • How to restrict users from printing documents and exporting to local file

    Hi SAP gurus,
    I have two questions.
    1. How can I restrict users from printing a document? i.e. billdoc? I would like to know if I could block it though authorization. If yes, what auth obj to use?
    2. How to restrict certain users from exporting to local file? the System> List>Save-->Local File. I have tried restricting it using auth object S_GUI but it seems it is only applicable to older versions of SAP. im on ecc6.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    Check this:
Create your own gui status and attach it to the list in the event START-OF-SELECTION.
In the menu painter extra -> adjust template.
Make it a list status and you will see all the standard list options appear including list->download
Deactivate the ones you don't want.
If you just want to prevent users from downloading the list you can achieve this with authorization object S_GUI, activity 61. Menu option will still be there though.
Please note that if you remove authorisation for S_GUI activity 61 then all downloads will not be possible.
If you just want to disable downloads only for a particular report, you can try this test program:
    Code:
    REPORT ztest.
DATA: PROGNAME LIKE SY-CPROG value 'Z_CHECK_AUTH',
            FORMNAME LIKE SY-XFORM value 'F_CHECK_AUTH'.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
        CALL FUNCTION 'SET_DOWNLOAD_AUTHORITY'
             EXPORTING
                  FORM    = FORMNAME
                  PROG    = PROGNAME
             EXCEPTIONS
                  OTHERS  = 1.
      WRITE: / 'TEST'.
    You also need this:
    Code:
    PROGRAM z_check_auth.
    FORM f_check_auth USING pe_result TYPE i.
      pe_result = 5.
    ENDFORM.
Also have a look at the exit SGRPDL00.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Windows 2008 : How to Restrict Users to Copy file from Shared Folder

    Hello All,
I need to Restrict Users to Copy file from Shared Folder. Please let me know is there any method to achieve this requirement.

If user have Read permission, they can copy it. So actually you cannot restrict user from copy your files if they could read/edit.
Some programs could help restrict users from edit/modify/copy the content of their files such as Office files, PDF files etc as Oscar said above.

  • Is there a correlation b/w Error -2048 and MPEG-4 files greater than 2GB?

I am having considerable difficulty in getting any of my DVD/movie files greater than 2GB to upload into my iTunes library. Anyone else having this difficulty? Through another problem, I discovered that iTunes ability to play video is based a thinned-down version of the Apple's QT engine, which prompted me to try and open these files using QT Pro; however, there too, I am getting a peculiar -2048 error suggesting it is not a movie file. The files were created using WONDERSHARE and I am experiencing difficulty with only the files that exceed 2GB in size.
For WONDERSHARE users, here are my relevant settings:
    RESOLUTION: 720*400
    CODEC: H.264
    FPS: 30
KBPS: 2,000 or 2,500 (toggled in between both to manage file size for longer movies, like 3 hour Bollywood epics)
Any help on this matter woudl be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tabish

    Jon,
Thanks for your response. I have inserted commentary below:
    I am having
considerable difficulty in getting any of my
DVD/movie files greater than 2GB to upload into my
    iTunes library.The 2 GB
restriction is usually on your source file -- the DVD
VOB -- or associated with Fat-32 file system. I have
H.264 files as large as 3.8 GB for SD content.
The file system is NTFS. I am not sure what you mean by DVD VOB.
    I discovered that
iTunes ability to play video is based a thinned-down
    version of the Apple's QT
    engineiTunes can access the
entire QT structure. The iPod and TV players are
limited to a modest QT sub-set.
O.K. But, QT still cannot open the file. If the files are corrupt, how come they only become corrupt at 2+ GB.
    however, there too, I
am getting a peculiar -2048 error suggesting it is
not a movie file.If issued by an
Apple application, this error code usually equates to
"noMovieFound" at the referenced location. This could
be a path error or refer to a movie interrupt during
conversion (as when your 2 GB plus source file
terminates prematurely) and the target file is not
closed properly (and is likely not recognized as a
    valid QT file).
    CODEC:
    H.264In which profile?
Again, not sure what you mean by "profile."

  • FileUpload using JAX-WS webservice on weblogic 10.3.5 is taking long time for files greater than 10MB

I am trying to upload a file using JAX-WS webservice which is deployed on the weblogic 10.3.5 server.Even before the code reaches the Service Endpoint lot of time is being spent at the weblogic layer. for files less than 10MB the performance is good but for files greater than 10 MB it takes around 3 mins to complete the request. I did take thread dumps  and I see the thread servicing the requests is taking lot of time when executing SAX2DOMEx.characters  it consumes around 80 -85 % of time here. Is there anything that I can do to improve the performance here ?

  • Formatting external drive for read/write PC/Mac & files greater than 4GB

I'm on Snow Leopard and deliver an external drive off-site to a video editor who needs to read/write to the drive and return the edited files and then I need to read/write all over again. All video files are greater than 4GB. How would I go about this? Third party applications like MacDrive create too much overhead when processing video files. FAT32 limits file sizes to 4GB.

    Hi WillDuffy;
Your requirement of files greater than 4GB eliminates FAT.
In your case since you don't have access to the PC, I am afraid you are forced to use the NTFS. This will require you to use the reverse engineered effort called NTFS-3G to be able to write to the disk from your Mac. Sorry.

  • Restrict users from archiving PST to local computer

    Hi all,
I would like to restrict users from archiving emails in outlook to the local computer. We have a serious problem that users are archiving emails to the local computer and then they can copy those emails to external devices or that they can attach this local
pst file to their personal outlook profile which they can forward it to external recipients. We have ran into a serious problem now and I am try to resolve this problem by restricting users to archive the emails to their local computer. Is there any way I
    can do this?
Only designated users should be able to archive the outlook emails (from the support team) and they can save it to a central file server.
Please share me your thoughts. Thank you all for taking time to read this and for your suggestions.

    Hi Friend,
Use Group Policy Feature and enable the “DisablePST” Reg value as it will not allow users to create new  PST file or even remove the Archive function from their Outlook interface.
Registry path to disable PST File authentication (Group policy):
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook
Take a brief explanation about various restrictions over PST File:

Deleting in OID works fine but the user remains in OF.
Is there configuration setting to cascade the deletion request to Oracle Files?
Is there away to programmatically delete the user from Oracle files?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Kate
I have the same problem than you : my users also appears in the approbation paths.
Also, how did you delete a lot of users ? Manually ? Is there a way to mass delete users, instead of deleting them 1 by 1 ?

  • Need to restrict users from adding or modifying folders or reports

Requirement: Need to restrict users from adding or modifying folders or reports through Info view and to reflect the modifications only thriough LCM.
Issue: Customer wants to restrict users from adding or modifying existing reports from Infoview and need to force users to do make the changes through Life cycle manager tool.
As per my understanding LCM can only be used to to promote folders and objects from one environment to another and to schedule the promotion of these jobs on a daily basis. My query is:
Can we add or modify existing reports or folders using the LCM tool?
Could you please help me out in this issue and provide me your suggestions.
    Thanks in advance.

You can not restrict that using LCM. Need to modify the rights at the folder level.
Explicitly remove the following rights for the user group,
    Add objects to the folder
    Edit objects
    Delete objects
Copy objects to another folder (check this if required)
Once the above four are denied then users wont be able to Edit/Add/Delete reports in that folder.

  • Merging files greater than 100MB in size

How do I merge multiple pdf files greater than 100MB in size?

However...the talk of 100MB suggests you don't actually have Acrobat. This is indeed a fixed limit if you are a subscriber to PDF Pack (CreatePDF), and the way around it is to get Acrobat.

  • How do I search for files greater than 500M in size within a directory?

I would like to know how to recursively search through a directory and it's subdirectories for files greater than 500M. What is the command for this?
    Thanks!

    Oh my, it's too early...
You want >500M files, here you go...
    find /path/to/dir -type f -size +524288000c
    **BLUSH**
To add something useful here, in ksh you can type
    find /path/to/dir -type f -size +$((500*1024*1024))c
