Restriction of user to access dispute and Credit case as per organizational area

Hi Team,
Requirement is to restrict user to use dispute and credit case as per organizational area.
Company having different zones and business wants that the user of one zones should not access the dispute and credit case along with the attachement related to cases of another zone.
Now Company having one RMS ID for Dispute and One RMS ID for Credit case .
So need help to assist how should we proceed to restrict the user of different zones.

It is not company code . it is basically region by geographic like latin America, North America.
under oner region business have several company code.
Business want to restrict the user to use credit case and dispute case along with attachment limited by region.

How to restrict the user from accessing other screens before submittingdata

Hi All,
I have some screens developed in Webdynpro ABAP and all these have been linked to Portal as pages. In Portal If i click on the link in detailed navigation i can see the corresponding screen on the right side. Now in one screen i have to input some data and submit the data, Now my problem is if i enter some data and before submitting the data if i click on any other link in the detailed navigation, that corresponding screen is opening and all the data of the previous screen is lost.
Can any one suggest me, how can i restrict the user from accessing other screens before submitting the data of that screen from portal perspective.

The pages can be restricted from the user access by using the ACL permission or you can restrict the page by making invisible in navigation area which you do not want to show to the user . Open the page properties and select navigation category in the drop down and select the Invisible in navigation area property to yes.By default this property is No.Change the property for all pcd pages which want to hide from user access.

I m not sure how the task would be achieved throughOAS.
But with the help of developer n DBA,we can restrict the users A and B, to access the login pages vise versa.
1) Create 2 tables in DB,one table which contains only user A and another only for user B
2) With the help of Developers,create inital login page(Userrname/Password) for both applications ie Site A and Site B
3) At Login page validate with the respective table created ie check whether the user is from table A or table B

Hi All,
We have a Ztable to maintian User Id and Profit Center ranges (from to).
This well help us to enter an user id and a Profit Center range in the Ztable.
Later this particular User will be having access to only these (mentioned in the Ztable) Profit Centers while doing any Transaction.
But how exactly this User will get such restriction..????
I believe something has to be done apart from entering such details in the Ztable.
What exactly should be done, so that the User will have access to particular set of Profit Centers...??????

We have one Oracle 10g AS server, hostname "abc", this server having two services named "DSS" and "RBL".
Our requriement is how we can restrict the URL "http://abc.xyz.com:7777/forms/frmservlet?config=rbl" from user access, because both DSS and RBL having same URL.

Users cannot access blogs and wikis

None of the users administered in WorkGroup Manager (our students) have access to the wiki I created for them or log in to their 'my page'. Settings:
- This wiki can be read and edited by anyone
- Users must log in to write
- Only the following users and groups can write (with the group of students in question entered)
What settings, in ServerAdmin or elsewhere, could I possibly be forgetting to adjust? Firewall, access, filesharing?

NB: The issue affects new blogs/wikis as well as previously existing blogs/wikis, and new users as well as existing users. There is only adminstrator access.

User home folders Upper and Lower case problem in FPN

I am facing a wiered problem in FPN. I configured FPN between EP and BI portal.
EP is using UME as LDAP
BI portal is using UME as ABAP
configured KM folders on to EP using Webdav scenario
now when I try to save KM book marks, it is saving perfectly in EP
the problem is saving bookmarks in the userfolder with Uppercase like USER
the KM favorites iView with the path (/alias/userhome/<user.id>/favorites)is trying to look into the userfolder with lowercase like user and displaying nothing
plese help me in solving this for KM iView to ignorie case

I understand that this problem is because of UME as LDAP and ABAP .
I tried to create a KM Navigational iView for favorites folder /alias/userhome/<user.id>/favorites.
but here problem is I am not able to convert user.id to Ucase
As per your suggestion, it is not possible to create one KM navigational iView to peep into multiple folders
for this the solution might be in two ways. creating KM iView to ignore case and look into the user home folder
if so, How to make the iView to ignore case
second option is to configure BEx broadcaster to publish in USER.lower folder
is so, How to achieve this
being people started using FPN most frequently and moving BI to seperate Portal and use ABAP as ume.
users will start encounter this problem most often. SAP has to come out with solution for this

How can I restrict more then one user to access the table?

Hi !
I have a problem and two solutions and I am a bit confused as to
which one is the best one and/or can there be any better way of
handling the problem ?
Problem : I have to update a key field of a table when I update
it in the form 5.0 screen. I am basically doing a maintenance of
a table and if a certain field is updated then the change has to
be reflected in two more tables. But the issue is that the field
is a part of the key in those two tables. So all I can think of
is that I need to insert new set or rows for that new value of
the field and delete the old set of records for old values of
the field.
There are two ways of doing it;
1.One option can be to explicitely define two cursors separately
and fetch the values in them one by one and then insert the new
records and then delete the old records in both the tables. This
I feel will be a cumbersome process both in terms of processing
time and the coding.
2.Second option I was thinking can be to create two flat tables
(without keys) and insert the values in them and update the
changed field there and then insert the rows in the respective
tables. Delete the old records in the main tables and delets the
records in these flat tables. This is a bit more faster and
easier to predict and code. This seems to be a better option for
me.
Any comments on these ?
In both the cases I was thinking of making some provision so
that more then one person can't update the table simultaneously.
Since if there are more then one persons doing the processing
then some inconsistency might creep into the whole process.
This is easier to do in the second process as if I check the
data in the flat tables and if there is some data then I can
presume that some one is doing the processing and I can ask the
other person to hold for a while. But in this case how can I
stop more then two people to simultaneously check for the empty
table and start inserting the record ?
I was just thinking of having a sepatare table having only one
field and this will be a key field and as the process begins the
process will insert a fix value say 'Y' in the key field and at
the end of the process the record will be deleted and this way
we can restrict the user to access the process more then one at
a time..? Since you can't have same value of the key in a table
more then once.
Any better way of handling it will be deeply appreciated.
How about locking the table at the begining and releasing the
lock at the end ? Will there be any issue in that? since I am
inserting and deleting the rows in the same transaction.

procedure?

and i am assigning that role to a user.But the user cant access that repository until i am not proving the content admin role to that user.
if i am not assigning the content admin role to that user,then its creating the workset for that user but the content inside that is not accessible.
so help me how can i access the repository by not assignining the content admin role.

Restrict local user login via GPO

I need a way to restrict domain user's access to the PCs in my department. All users at the company are put into company wide general user groups and then, as a department, we put them into separate user groups per department OU. I want to restrict access
to all users except the users in my OU user groups but there are hundreds of other user groups created by other departments so direct exclusion per group is out. I need a way to restrict everyone except my users via a group policy object.

Please follow the below steps for denying logon to all users, except the users who are the members of groups in your department OU,
1. Create a new group called "MyExcludedGroups" (To whom we are going to add the groups, for excluding logon to your department computers).
2. Check the below steps for adding the groups to "MyExcludedGroups" group using powershell,
- Go to Start -> Open Windows Powershell using Run as Administrator
- In the powershell type, set-executionpolicy unrestricted (for allowing commands to execute)
- Type the command import-module activedirectory (to enable and execute AD cmdlets)
- For example to add the groups in "ou=test1,dc=mydomain,dc=com" to "MyExcludedGroups" group, type the below commands,
$test1=Get-ADGroup -Filter * -SearchBase "ou=test1,dc=mydomain,dc=com"
Add-GroupMember -Identity MyExcludedGroups -Members $test1
Similarly you can run the commands on each OU to add the groups to "MyExcludedGroups" group.
3. Create a Group Policy Object (GPO) linked at the OU containing your department computers called "Deny Interactive Logon".
4. Right click and edit the GPO "Deny Interactive Logon" and navigate to the node "Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment".
5. In the "User Rights Assignment" node add "Deny log on locally" permission for "MyExcludedGroups" group.

Can you restrict a user in ASDM to only allow them to log a user out of a VPN session

We support many clients and we have found that many of them are sharing VPN credentials when logging in via AnyConnect/WebVPN. We were thinking about restricting simultaneous log in to 1. I also know that users may have situations where they lock up a session due to ISP or PC issues and won't be able to connect again until that session drops from the ASA. We would like to enable our helpdesk to log in to the ASA via ASDM and be able to logout a user that has an active connection. This would be in the logging area of the ASA where they could highlight a user and click logout. Is it possible to restrict a user to just this and not allow them to make any other changes to the ASA?

You should be able to do that. You would create a new privilege level (ie 7), assign all commands to that level except (this is my guess) the command vpn-sessiondb, you would put that at a lower privilege level (ie 6). Here's a write-up that may help getting you in the right direction.
