Restriction of Users to access other Profit Center Data

Hi All,
We have a Ztable to maintian User Id and Profit Center ranges (from to).
This well help us to enter an user id and a Profit Center range in the Ztable.
Later this particular User will be having access to only these (mentioned in the Ztable) Profit Centers while doing any Transaction.
But how exactly this User will get such restriction..????
I believe something has to be done apart from entering such details in the Ztable.
What exactly should be done, so that the User will have access to particular set of Profit Centers...??????
Kindly guide me in this regard.....

I have some screens developed in Webdynpro ABAP and all these have been linked to Portal as pages. In Portal If i click on the link in detailed navigation i can see the corresponding screen on the right side. Now in one screen i have to input some data and submit the data, Now my problem is if i enter some data and before submitting the data if i click on any other link in the detailed navigation, that corresponding screen is opening and all the data of the previous screen is lost.
Can any one suggest me, how can i restrict the user from accessing other screens before submitting the data of that screen from portal perspective.

The pages can be restricted from the user access by using the ACL permission or you can restrict the page by making invisible in navigation area which you do not want to show to the user . Open the page properties and select navigation category in the drop down and select the Invisible in navigation area property to yes.By default this property is No.Change the property for all pcd pages which want to hide from user access.

How to restrict the Users to access other application URL on same machine?

We have one Oracle 10g AS server, hostname "abc", this server having two services named "DSS" and "RBL".
Our requriement is how we can restrict the URL "http://abc.xyz.com:7777/forms/frmservlet?config=rbl" from user access, because both DSS and RBL having same URL.
Can we change port 7777 for RBL service?

Restricting the user to access only one view in or database

A user wants to create a database link , so that he can view one of our views. We want to restrict permission, so that he can access only that view, and not any of our tables. What is the best way to proceed?

Help needed for Restricting roles by maintaining values at Profit center

Hi,
My client uses the restriction at Company Code and Cost Center but we were using a * for full authorization to maintain the Profit Center. Now the situation has arisen where we need to maintain a particular Role at Profit Center level. We are creating a new role and maintaining the value of it. But there are a few other Roles where the Profit Center was not maintained and a * (which is already there) will give access to the Profit Center which is actually meant for the new Role.
The Profit Center has values of around 2500 which is going to be difficult to be maintained. Is there any other method where in we can restrict the Roles at Profit Center level by giving some ranges and if it is please let me know the format?

There are two methods that you can maintain:
1. Using the Company Code
2. Using the Company Code simultaneously with Profit Center
The approach that we are following is like that: We have created a excel file which contains the segegrated list of Profit Centers according to Company Code.
Now if you provide the range of Company code ( that can be achieved in authorization fields) the profit center related will automaically be associated by giving *.
We can give the range of profit center at two levels....one at the Organizational Level which would give acess to all the authorization objects present in the Role.
Other is give the range at the Authorization Object Level...that would give access to that particular Authorization Object or the Tcodes related to that.

I m not sure how the task would be achieved throughOAS.
But with the help of developer n DBA,we can restrict the users A and B, to access the login pages vise versa.
1) Create 2 tables in DB,one table which contains only user A and another only for user B
2) With the help of Developers,create inital login page(Userrname/Password) for both applications ie Site A and Site B
3) At Login page validate with the respective table created ie check whether the user is from table A or table B

User exit to populate profit center in production order change (CO02)

Hello,
The requirement is to populate the profit center in production order change (Tcode CO02). I know the user exit that can populate profitcenter in CO01 but it's not called in CO02. Ther other user exits that I found are for checking but not for changing
Is there a user exit /BADI that can acheive this requirement?

The Profit center is derived from material master plant view . the determination as described by you is from standard functionality.
if you are using a WBS element, it would be derived from the WBS elements org parameters

Restriction of user to access dispute and Credit case as per organizational area

Hi Team,
Requirement is to restrict user to use dispute and credit case as per organizational area.
Company having different zones and business wants that the user of one zones should not access the dispute and credit case along with the attachement related to cases of another zone.
Now Company having one RMS ID for Dispute and One RMS ID for Credit case .
So need help to assist how should we proceed to restrict the user of different zones.

It is not company code . it is basically region by geographic like latin America, North America.
under oner region business have several company code.
Business want to restrict the user to use credit case and dispute case along with attachment limited by region.

FB01 with SM35 no access to Profit Center hierarchy

I work on accounting documents with SM35 simulating FB01. The profit center is not correct. I chose the matchcode. But in research, the hierarchy of profit centers do not appear, while the list by company is OK.

I think the information given by you is not sufficient to provide you some solution. However, i would like you to check if there are any missing account determination for the accounts. Please check the SAP Note 548946 and 339094 in this regard.

PIX Users Cannot Access Other Websites & Email Servers on Same-Shared T1 Co

We are sharing a T1 connection with another business in our building. They have their own separate network environment from mine. I have a Windows 2003 Small Business Server behind a PIX-501 and the users in my network connect to the Internet via Windows Server?s DHCP and Internet sharing (NAT) services.
All Internet and email traffic is accessible except for those hosted by the other company who we're sharing a connection with. My users cannot access that company?s web server or send email to their email server (we all get 4.4.7 SMTP errors? days later after sending the message).
They have no firewall on their end; which is why I think there may be something wrong with my PIX configuration (see attached config file). I'm sort of a newbie with the PIX CLI, so any help I can get could be great. Thanks in advanced!

The problem is not with PIX. This is a common problem when sharing a T1 link as it creates a routing problem since routing cannot be done based on shared T1 channels. Your PIX config is fine and has nothing to do with this issue.

Dear Deepak_DBA,
If you revoke every privilege and role from the SYS user i presume the SYS will continue to select any table from the relevant schema. SYS is a special user and not like the others.
For instance if you want to revoke the SYSDBA and the SYSOPER from the SYS user;
SQL> revoke sysdba, sysoper from sys;
revoke sysdba, sysoper from sys
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01998: REVOKE failed: user SYS always has SYSOPER and SYSDBAI have never seen such documentation that describes how to revoke everything or at least the SELECT ANY TABLE privilege from the SYS user.

There is no standard report to see both the sale order reference and profit center. However, if you go to SE16 and use table VBAP, you can see the required details

Error while Adding Profit Center Data element to Data Model of MDG-M

Can any one help me in adding profit center filed (Data element) to zztable, basically want to use the Data Element (PRCTR).
Getting error" There is an attribute with data element assigned that refers to a check table. Besides the client, the check table can only have one key field that corresponds to the attribute.

Hi Mandapati,
looks like you are assigning data element in existing attribute or you are assigning data element more than once.
Try to create a new attribute and then assign the Data Element (PRCTR).
Go to General Settings-> Data Modeling-> Edit Data Model.
Select your datamodel( note that it should be MDGM data model. For MDG the MDGM data model is called MM. We can only add pre-delivered SAP ERP material master database field to an MDGM entity as an attribute)
Select the entity types and then the attributes subdialog.
Create a new attribute and assign a data element. The system then derives the properties, field labels for the attribute
