Restriction Password frequency isn't highlighted to change

On both of my children's iPod touch 5 under
settings
general
restrictions
require password (it's not highlighted for change)
we are all going bonkers having to enter in a unique over 8 character with capitals and numbers password EVERY SINGLE TIME...ON BOTH KIDS DEVICES....apple you're killing me.
HELP!!
Oddly enough under my iPhone 5, that has no restrictions enabled, it has mine at 15 minutes.
At a loss.  please help.

  • Restrictions password not working

I have an ipod touch with iOS 6.0.1. I set a passcode because my son uses my ipod touch also. Now, when I'm trying to do something, the passcode will not work. I am 100% positive it's the correct password. It's the only 4 digit one I use for parental controls on both the directv, the tv and the ipod. It is the right number. No doubt whatsoever. I know my son did not change it. If he was able to figure out the code, he would just lock and unlock it when he wanted to-not change it. Plus, I asked and I can tell if he's lying. So why isn't it working? Is restoring the only option? Because I do not want to lose all the crap I've loaded onto this thing. I am so over apple, I swear.

Sorry, but there is no other way than to restore your device and set it up as new, because the restriction password is part of the backup as well.
How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Forgot to mention-from what I am reading you can't even restore from a backup, unless the backup is from before the passcode was set. Otherwise you still need the passcode. I may have an older backup on my old computer.

  • I have changed my email address so I changed my Apple ID and password.  Just realised haven't changed icloud details and now can't access as don't know password or security questions.  Want to delete and set up on new Apple ID.

I I have changed my email address so I changed my Apple ID and password.  Just realised haven't changed icloud details and now can't access as don't know password or security questions.  Want to delete and set up on new Apple ID.  Help please???

In order to change the iCloud ID on your device you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Firefox remembers my password for Yahoo, but I recently changed it. How do I update Firefox to remember the new one?

Question above pretty much sums up the details.

You can either remove the currently saved password or let Firefox fill the wrong password on the web page and change that to the correct password.<br />
Firefox should then offer to update the new password.
*Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
*Highlight an entry in the drop down list
*Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it

  • Forgot restrictions password.  What settings will be affected by restoring to factory settings?

I forgot my restrictions password.  What will change if I have
    to restore the factory settings?

Restoring to factory settings, does just that... your iPhone will be like it was when new and not activated, i.e. everything will be wiped off the phone.

  • HT5312 I can not access purchase anything using my Apple ID because I forget my security question to verify that it's me and forgot my password to my rescue email up change my security question. What do I do?

I can not access purchase anything using my Apple ID because I forget my security question to verify that it's me and forgot my password to my rescue email up change my security question. What do I do?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • Ios 8 restrictions password not working

Ios 8 restrictions password not working .... But 'am sure i didnt forget it !! ....what shall i do ?!!

    Howdy Kanfoud,
If the iPhone isn't accepting the Restrictions passcode (which can differ from the normal access passcode), you'll need to restore the device.
If you lose or forget your Restrictions passcode, you'll need to perform a factory restore to remove it.

    Remove restriction passcode
    1. Restore to Factory Default

    2. You can restore from a backup that was done before you enable the Restriction Code.

  • Configurator restore backup loses iPad Restrictions password and email password.

I am using configurator. I have experienced progress, yeah! I have 12 iPads. The one I setup with perfect settings and apps is named, A1.
I have successfully created a backup of A1, and call it Configurator Master BU.
When I supervise my remaining iPads, A2-A12, I have it set to restore from the above mentioned backup.I plug them in, and click apply. Even if an app was deleted, it comes back. Yeah! Since I am restoring from a backup of an iPad that was already configured, I don't get the iOS setup assistant anymore. Yeah!
I created a profile, and tried to set up a gmail email account there. The imap.gmail.com incoming email server just wouldn't work! So I decided to delete that 'payload' and go set up the email on A1 through Account settings. On the iPad A1, I also enabled Settings->General->Restrictions and set a password. I restricted allowing the users to change the email accounts. A1 works great.
    The restored iPads do not.
When checking email, it says the account doesn't have a password.
When you go to settings, the account info is greyed-out.
When you go to restrictions, they are greyed out, except that you can select "enable restrictions".
Once you do that, you can go back in and set the email password.
How can I convince Configurator to keep the email and restrictions passwords when I restore form backups?
    Thank you!
    Taylor.

Okay so the Restrictions thing has been bugging me because I know I've been able to have restrictions set without having to manually do it one by one. So I set up a test lab here of 5 iPads. Wiped them all and started new.
I took one iPad (we'll call it A1). Went through the setup process, selecting country, wifi, terms, etc. Once the home screen came up, I set a restrictions password and set some restrictions. Then I launched iTunes and plugged A1 into the MacBook. I made an Encrypted Backup of A1. Ejected A1. Closed iTunes. Launched Apple Configurator. Took iPads A2-A5 and Supervised them (not restoring any backup). Then I launched iTunes. A2-A5 show up in iTunes. Then I restored the iTunes Encrypted Backup to A2-A5 (one at a time…ugh). After they finished restoring, I quit iTunes and launched Apple Configurator again. In the Supervise tab, I added apps and configuration profiles. They all installed seamlessly. I checked A2-A5 and the restrictions are all set on A2-A5.
The drawback here is that you can't restore a Supervised backup to your iPads…only add/remove profiles and apps with Configurator. If an iPad ever needs a full backup restored, you would need to do it via iTunes Encrypted Backup in order for the Restrictions to hold. If you try to restore a Supervised backup with Configurator then you'll reset the Restrictions.
Its kind of a roundabout way of doing it, but at least you won't have to manually set restrictions on every single iPad.

  • HT4137 iPad forgot restrictions password

I was rushed and entered a restrictions password on my IPad. Now it will not allow me to change it.  I wrote it down, but it does not work.  Is there any way to reset it.  I have the other password and connected email account.  There is no ITunes, there is an Icloul backup.  Help!  Is there any way to recover this thing without losing all my paid apps???  Thanks!

If you have upgraded your iPad  to iOS 7 .3 and you want to restore your iPad 2 to factory settings and re install iOS 7 and if you did not back up your previous iOS and you set restrictions with a different key from your log in 4 number key you will be prompted to unlock restrictions to dis able Find my iPad ! I then realised that I had for got my restrictions password so I went to reset all completely wipe from factory settings I can not open Restrictions so you can not do this on Itunes in OS X 10.9 Mavericks iTunes. so he will not be allowed to reset all.
I could be wrong ,lets find out I found when I installed Mavericks and the new iPhoto I got duplicates so I thought I would restore the iPad, it is a good idea when a new iOS comes along is to restore every thing is on the cloud so you just re down load ,He mihgt have hidden the Apps but you can still get them if you search for purchased.

  • Restrictions password after restoring backup

I needed to change the restrictions password on the phone.  I followed the procedures using Itunes.  I then changed the restrictions password.  However when I restored the phone to get my contacts, it overwrote the new password that I just created.  How do I get my contacts back and keep a new password?

If you forgot your Restrictions passcode you have three options:
    - Restore from a backup made before there was a Restrictions passcode.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod. Restoring from backup just restores the Restrictions passcode if one was in the backup.
    - See: It is not easy.

To remove the Restrictions passcode you will need to either...
    1)  Restore the Device as New...

    OR...
    2)  From a Backup created Before the Restrictions Code was set....

I forgot my restrictions password. Can anybody show me how to change it? The simplest way lol

    Forgotten RESTRICTIONS Passcode
    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
