Restrictions by value from BW not apply in BO
Hello,
I have report with Char1, Char2, Char3, Key figure1.
Char2 restricted by value1, value2 from 5 value.
Char1, Char3 has all values.
In Bw all ok, report show only value1 and value2 on Char2.
In BO it's show full list of value in Char2.
Can anybody help?
Regards,
Roman
Hi Roman,
that is pretty much the same description like before. anyway...
so you have three characteristics in the rows.
are these in a structure ? yes or no ?
You mentioned that one of the characteristic is restrictred ? Are we talking about an actual restricted keyfigure or did you go into the filter area and restricted the characteristic on a set of members for this characteristic ?
in the columns you mentioned you have keyfigures ? are those plain keyfigures or selections / calculations / restricted kf ?

Values from WESelectCascade not in Target-URL
Hi,
I have create a Formular with WETextbox and WESelectCascade. The Value from the WETextbox was added to the URL but not the values from the WESelectCascade. The allelements-String in the WEBuilder-Function includes the WESelectCascade-Elements.
I have also added an Submit-Button to the Sample-Report "webElements Advanced Functionality.rpt". All Values from the other controls are in the URL-String but not the values from the WESelectCascade and WESelectCascadeMulti.
Are there any Problems with these Elements?
Thanks for your answer.hello Thorsten Werth,
one thing that comes to mind for this is evaluation times on the report. webelements functions follow the same rules as other crystal formulae and hence evaluation time is important.
1) the webuilder should be placed below all of the other controls, preferably in it's own section to ensure that it is evaluated last on the report.
2) if you have shared variables in your formulae that are used in the weselectcascade(multi) then these formulae should be "whileprintingrecords". in order for the webuilder to catch all of the variables from the controls, the webuilder formula should be "whileprintingrecords" as well.
3) to test if you do have an evaluation issue...open up the report in the crystal designer, go to preview mode, then copy the webuilder formula and past the output to notepad...through the long mess of stuff you've copied to notepad, there should be a bunch of javascript arrays representing some of the code that makes your selectcascade functions run in the viewer.
i hope that this helps out,

Restricted key figures (from Infoprovider) not showing in multiprovider
Hi all
I have created a multi provider joining two info providers. The infoproviders have many restricted and calculated key figures.
Do I have to re-create these in the multiprovider ?
In the infoprovider when I click on edit restricted key figure it says it is reuseable.
any ideas ?
thanks in advanceHi Sandra,
In the infoprovider when I click on edit restricted key figure it says it is reuseable This means that it can be used in any query on that info provider not on another infoprovider (like a multi-provider). So, you will need to re-create those KFs on muti-provider.
Thanks and Regards

How to restrict decimal values from number in OAF
Hi All,
My requirement is, when ever user enter number in text box, if the number having decimal it should throw an exception to enter for only integer values.
Appreciate help on this.
Regards,
RakeshHi 977941,
Please set the following properties for a field and check for decimal point
Action Type : firePartialAction
Event : validateInteger
Create a controller and add the following in Process From Request :
if ("*validateInteger*".equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM))) // identifier should be same as what you have set .
get the value here and check if the decimal exist and throw exception message .

Restrict Certain Values seen in Portal
Hi all,
We have MDM/Portal integreation where i want to Resrtict certain Values which is seen Portal I-Views
Suppose I have some values like in my MDM lookup Table
Name Number
a 1
b 3
c 4
I don't want allow b and 3 to seen in Portal.How can I acheive in MDM.
Thanks,
MadhuHi,
As per your requirement, It seems like Masks and Named Searches would not help in this case.
Since Mask and Named searches work for Table of TYPE MAIN only. You don't have this option when you select any other table rather than Main table in record mode of MDM Data Manager.
I mean to say, In Data Manager Record mode when you select Main table as your current table, if you not select Name(B) and Number(3) from Drill down search for that look-up tables then correspondingly all main table records associated with this look-up field value too would not display for the user who is assigned to this mask or Named search.
So, I feel you want to display all the records in Portal ( you have there i-view of Record details and detail view) but for look-up field only (legal value of entries) you want to restrict the values from main table .
So, only using look-up table constraints option you can achieve when you unload your repository ->go to Roles--> Tables and Fields-> constraints , assign that role to user for who you want to restrict the limited no. of look-up values. Here corresponding to your look-up table under constraint column you need to add only those values for that look-up table using Available to selected values(Don't add here b).
Note: Constraints enabled when a field from main table is look up to Single-valued look-up sub-table( say Flat table, Hierarchy table, Taxonomy table) but not multivalued look-up table(e.g. Qualified Flat etc). Further if you select Flat table as also Multi-valued then constraint would not work.

Has anyone retrieved a value from a system Matrix from selecting the row
Hi everyone, I am trying to retrieve the value of a cell from the first column of a matrix depending on which row the user has highlighted. I can access the value from specifying which row to retrieve the value from but not from the user selecting which row. Im attempting do do this from the open items list system form which is accessed from the reports menu.
To retrieve the value from the first row my code is as follows:
oMatrix = oForm.Items.Item("5").Specific
DocNo = oMatrix.Columns.Item("1").Cells.Item(1).Specific.Value
SBO_Application.MessageBox(DocNo)
How do I change this code to access the value of the cell depending on which row is highlighted?
Any help would be appreciatedHi Sally,
you will get the selected row number on any event through "pVal.Row", you can get this value in a integer variable like:
int i = pVal.Row
and pass it in your code;
DocNo = oMatrix.Columns.Item("1").Cells.item(i)
or you can do same in this way also:
you have to specify your particular cell as a edit text and get the value of that:
oEditText=(SAPbouiCOM.EditText)oMatrix.Columns.Item("1").Cells.Item(i).Specific;
string1 = oEditText.String;
Hope it will help. -
Retrieving ALL values from a single restricted user property
How can I retrieve ALL values of a single restricted user property from within
a .jpf file?
I want to display a dropdown list within a form in a JSP which should contain
all the locations listed in the property 'locations'. I ever get just the default
value when I access the property via
ProfileWrapper pw = userprofile.getProfileForUser(user);
Object prop = pw.getProperty("ClockSetup", "Locations");Well, the code you've got will retrieve the single value of the property
for the current user. You're getting the default value because the
current user doesn't have Locations property set, so the ProfileWrapper
returns the default value from the property set.
I assume you want to get the list of available values that you entered
into the .usr file in Workshop. If so, I've attached a
SetColorController.jpf, index.jsp, and GeneralInfo.usr (put in
META-INF/data/userprofiles) I wrote for an example that does just this.
It uses the PropertySetManagerControl to retrieve the restricted values
for a property, and the jsp uses data-binding to create a list from that
pageflow method.
For a just-jsps solution, you can also use the
<ps:getRestrictedPropertyValues/> tag. I've attached a setcolor-tags.jsp
that does the same thing.

Null offset from calibration not being applied to output
I am measuring some load cells using a I 9237. I am setting the null offset using Device > Bridge Calibration in the DAQ Assistant. I measure the offet and hit calibrate. It says "Calibration successful" and I hit finish, but the offset value is not applied to the data.
How do I get this to work?Hello IamRubber,
How can you see the calibration not being applied? Are you running the same DAQ Assistant to see the offset? If possible, please attach a screenshot from before/after running bridge calibration.

Apply request values from a region on an event from another region
Hi,
I am quite new to ADF and that's my first question/post here (and as a matter of fact pretty much anywhere),
so i hope i manage to make my problem clear enough.
First i am using ADF Faces + ADF BC using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 with the integrated WebLogic Server
Now the what is the case:
I have a page with two af:regions in it.
The first one is basically a single selection table.
The second one is a to put is simply an edit form for the selected row of the first table.
I don't use the contextual events mechanism ( i have spent some week or more playing around with it awhile ago, but from that exprience i don't recollect any particular thing that might solve my problem) so what i do is pass as parameter to the first(table) region a "delegate" that would listen/handle selection events and in the backing bean of the table i have the selection listener that fires the events/calls the delegate's handleEvent(String eventType,Object data) method so that the main page knows and refreshes the second/edit form region
with the newly selected ID of the entity.
My problem is that if i had entered data in the form in the second region it is lost after selection
has been made in the first one.
I see (in the http request content of the selection event, or in the requestMap), that all that was in the html page, including the second region is transmitted to the server - so are the newly entered values. However the jsf components that are a part of the second region are not applied with their new values, nor their model is updated in the next jsf phase.
Now I suspect that has something to do with the (Adf)RichRegion being a EventRoot or something.
I tried putting partialTrigger to the second region (though i currently and for various reasons call the AdfFacesContext.addPartialTarget programmatically at about one million places in the java code after the selection event)
I even tried hacking the javascript AdfRichRegion object, so that it would always return false if asked isEventRoot. :) that's how desperate i was
The only solution i have so far is:
First to make clear. When i say refreshing the second region i don't mean calling RichRegion.refresh(), but rather RichRegion.queueActionEventInRegion(....., "refresh",PhaseId.ANY_PHASE) which in the second's region taskflow is just a method call, that sets the right current row of the iterator and then loops back to the same (one and only view in this taskflow - the edit form) and adds some parialTargets to the AdfFacesContext, so we see the new data
then in that methodCall (which i think happens in the INVOKE_APPLICATION phase) i add those few lines to make sure the values are applied to the jsf components sub-tree of interest:
RichPanelGroupLayout fl = getFl();//that's a binding of the UIComponent, that holds all the inputTexts i care about
fl.processDecodes(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());
fl.processValidators(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());
And when i say make sure that the values are applied... i actually mean - get on my knees and pray because the whole thing looks too hacky already, but so far it works.
But now i have to make sure the validation has been ok (otherwise i get a funny effect of seeing the red popups at the invalid text inputs just for a second and then my region is refreshed to the new entity or i get an JBO exception depending of whether i call the next lines that follow without the if(..){processUpdates}
How do i check this:
System.out.println(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().isValidationFailed());
//The above line would print false nomatter what happenned so i decided to use this "something":
boolean validationFailed = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getMessageList().size()>0;
if(validationFailed){
//dont update the iterator's current row and return to the edit form page
return "fail";
}else{
fl.processUpdates(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());
//update the current row and return to the edit form page
It took me days to come up with this...i would call it hack...And a day or two more to adapt the rest of the page's logic with the whole design changes i had to make but i still believe there must be some better solution that i am missing because for a number of reasons i don't feel right eith this one, which, while implemented and working (i hope) makes the whole real case a lot more complex than it used to be (and still feels like a hack),
just for the simple reason that I want to get some updated values back in the model.
Just as an example of a design change i had to make i give you the afformentioned methodCall i had to add, because the processUpdate would not work if not called with the right adf bindings context... first i tried calling them from a custom PhaseListener i have but at that moment nobody knows what #{bindings.MyEntityId.inputValue} is.
Thanks and Greeting

Edited by: trout1234 on Aug 2, 2012 10:57 AMOh yes... and i have also noticed that if the action is triggered from a component(e.g. clicking on a commandLink) that is a part of the main page
the values are updated in all regions (i think so :) ) ... so i even tried a client listener in the first region that calls javascript function that queues a custom event with a source component from the main page, but yet the selection event is propagated to the server even with the event.cancel() and evt.stopBubbling()
and i could not make my custom event force the apply request values... but here i might have done somthing wrong i dont know it is a mess anyway... sure this one sound more of a hack than my current option....by my criteria at least -
Hello,
I have developed a COM-Addin for word 2013 by VS 2013 and installed it under the HKLM with Admin rights. Now from an non-admin account, ie Standard User I'm able to uncheck that addin from the COM-Addins dialog and remove it also. Previously I have done the
same thing for word 2007 addins and if a non-admin user tries to uncheck it the warning "The
connected state of Office Add-ins registered in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE cannot be changed" pops
up. But this is not happening for office 2013 apps(basically word, excel and powerpoint).
This is happening for all Add-Ins installed under HKLM.
How can a Standard User be restricted from unchecking and removing the Office Addins registered under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE with same warning "The
connected state of Office Add-ins registered in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE cannot be changed" in
a pop-up box?
Regards, SayanHi,
The behavior is changed since Office 2010. Office 2010 and Office 2013 allows a standard user to turn a per-machine add-in off by unchecking the add-in in the COM Add-ins dialog.
To restrict Standard User from not removing the COM Add-ins, we can try to add the add-in to
the Group Policy option: List of managed add-ins in the Office Group Policy template.
Word for example, the policy is under:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Word 2013\Miscellaneous
To enable this policy setting, provide the following information for each add-in:
In "Value name", specify the programmatic identifier (ProgID) for COM add-ins, or specify the file name of Word add-ins.
To obtain the ProgID for an add-in, use Registry Editor on the client computer where the add-in is installed to locate key names under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins.
To obtain the file name of an add-in, click the File menu in the application where the add-in is installed. Click Options, click Add-ins, and then use the Location column to determine the file name of the add-in.
In "Value," specify the value as follows:
To specify that an add-in is always enabled, type 1.
Hope this helps.

the said action, the first was using the Unattend.xml, adding the DataImage Action, the other was using an Imagex command from the MDT task sequence. neither is applying the Wim, before the upgrade this worked. has any one else had this issue?
Thank you,

the D WIM is applied, but that's counter productive. i will apply my TS.xml information.

I have created a PDF form with multiple drop downs, all with the same drop down values. When I select a value from 1 of the drop down fields, it replicates in all of the others - which I do not want. Can I fix this?
I'm fairly new to this, but I think it has to do with the way you have the drop downs named. Did you copy one then keep pasting it in each field? If so, that is the problem. You should rename each one with a different number: Dropdown1, Dropdown2, etc. I think that might solve the issue.

From two given tables, how do you fetch the values from two columns using values from one column(get values from col.A if col.A is not null and get values from col.B if col.A is null)?
Hi,
Use NVL or COALESCE:
NVL (col_a, col_b)
Returns col_a if col_a is not NULL; otherwise, it returns col_b.
Col_a and col_b must have similar (if not identical) datatypes; for example, if col_a is a DATE, then col_b can be another DATE or it can be a TIMESTAMP, but it can't be a VARCHAR2.
For more about NVL and COALESCE, see the SQL Language manual: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e26088/functions119.htm#sthref1310
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables involved, and also post the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).

Remote Object - not able to get the returned value from java method
Hi ,
I am developing one sample flex aplication that connects to the java code and displays the returned value from the
java method in flex client. Here I am able to invoke the java method but not able to collect the returned value.
lastResult is giving null . I am able to see the sysout messages in server console.
I am using flex 3.2 and blazeds server and java 1.5
Here is the code what I have written.
<mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" backgroundColor="#FFFFFF" initialize="initApp()">
<mx:Script>
import mx.controls.Alert;
import mx.binding.utils.ChangeWatcher;
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
import mx.messaging.*;
import mx.messaging.channels.*
public function initApp():void {
var cs:ChannelSet = new ChannelSet();
var customChannel:Channel = new AMFChannel("my-amf", "http://localhost:8400/blazeds/messagebroker/amf"); cs.addChannel(customChannel);
remoteObj.channelSet = cs;
public function writeToConsole():void { remoteObj.writeToConsole(
"hello from Flash client");
var returnedVal:String = remoteObj.setName().lastResult; Alert.show(returnedVal);
//[Bindable]
// private var returnedVal:String;

</mx:Script>
<mx:RemoteObject id="remoteObj" destination="sro" />
<mx:Form width="437" height="281">
<mx:FormItem>
</mx:FormItem>
<mx:Button label="Write To Server Console" click="writeToConsole()"/>
</mx:Form>
</mx:WindowedApplication>
Java code
public
public SimpleRemoteObject(){
super(); }
class SimpleRemoteObject {
public void writeToConsole(String msg) { System.out.println("SimpleRemoteObject.write: " + msg); }
public String setName(){ System.
out.println("Name changed in Java");
return "Name changed in Java";
And I have configured destination in remote-config.xml
<destination id="sro">
<properties>
SimpleRemoteObject
<scope>application</scope>
</properties>
</destination>
Please help me .You are not able to get the returned value because if you see the Remote object help you will realise you have to use result="resultfn()" and fault = "faultfn()"
In this you define what you wish to do.
More importantly in the remote object you need to define which method you wish to call using the method class like this
<mx:RemoteObject id="remoteObj" destination="sro" result="r1" fault="f1" >
<Method name="javaMethodName" result="r2" fault="f2"/>
<mx:RemoteObject>
r2 is the function where you get the result back from java and can use it to send the alert.

Why do my windows and icons keep moving position?
I have my windows arranged so that I know where they will open, and the icons within ordered how I like them, and a few nice images in the backgrounds of the windows. So far so good. Since the Lion upgrade, and still with 10.7.1, when I close and reo
